If and when you see threads plopped into FWR, especially a curious repeat of well worn topics, maybe check for poster history before engaging. AS is your friend.

There are a number of posts/posters/threads that are reproduced on Twitter or Facebook to foment controversy using screen shots & flagging to either MNHQ to have threads or posters deleted.. Sometimes, it’s used to approach commissioning editors with ideas for articles. It’s a tiresome tactic that we always have community disruptor posters who themselves post the comments that they then highlight elsewhere as purported evidence of racism, religious intolerance, anti-men sentiments, or transphobia.

This thread will be taking a leisurely stroll through the foothills of community disruption, noting the behaviour of wildlife and interesting flora and fauna en route.

I've been reading through all the books too this week from that thread What a joy they are.

It feels like regular posters are being thrown under a bus.

Yes I got my first deletion in 14 years for making the place 'a hostile place to debate* yesterday.

Sod making cake, I'm eating my way through a box of Gin After Eights left over from Christmas tonight.

Well this is a cosy little refuge, mind if I put my feet up? I've got school dinner cake of anyone wants a slice (vanilla sponge with icing and the all important sprinkles).

Not a regular on this part of the board but I managed to get my first shiny strike badge today because I didn't realise the mods were...let's just say of a certain mindset. I wonder why this lovely place is left alone by MN? It's very nice in here.

I had tinned grapefruit for pudding. Surprisingly nice. It was M&S tinned grapefruit. Hoping for a good rest now and peace and quiet.
Has anybody ever had tinned pink grapefruit btw?

It must be a sign of age but I bought the best boots ever. Like lace up wellies with furry lining. Been the best thing about lockdown walks. Low carb though so can’t enjoy the malt loaf. I can just imagine it now spread thick with butter

Nope! I've built a fire and have popped a scone on a toasting fork.

Everytime I come back today it just highlights how incredibly rattled the twitterati must be about the court cases & push back to deploy so much energy & effort trying to destroy FWR

I am taking refuge too. The fact that one poster’s experiment results are being published for all to read on other platforms with some prominent at’ing means it is going to be rough out there.

I honestly don't think that could be a thing. Not without redefining the meaning of 'malt' and 'loaf'.

Most likely, there were hundreds of deletions, some will have had several strikes just today.

Don't think anyone has been lost. I'm now taking a long walk up the hill. Might have a bit of cake.

Quite a lot of the deletions were because the op said something which made it sound like they weren't in good faith, then they persuaded MNHQ they were above board, then started another thread with an explanation somewhere that it was misunderstood sarcasm but lots of posters understandably were saying 'not good faith'. The posts after that got deleted. But the denouement appears to be that the OP turns out not to have been in good faith after all.
So I don't think anyone's is likely to get strikes for those, at least.

(And don't blame me if that didn't make much sense)

I have googled gin after eights... they look absolutely delicious

Oh didn't you hear? Nothing to see here, MN believes no screenshots are being reproduced anywhere. Would be interesting if someone could point them in the direction of such things though.... Right, let's get the kettle on to go with that cake.

@ErrolTheDragon. I wonder how readily Mumsnet will retract those incorrect strikes given recent developments have vindicated the posters entirely. One can but dream.

Tempted to start that thread to ask....I'd give it about 3 minutes before deletion though. MN often doesn't take kindly to mod decisions being proven wrong.

I think you're right there, Day. I even pointed out that I received a deletion for repeating what one of the mods had written. Madness.

If one case triggers this kind of response, next week will rough.
It's the fair cop appeal, glinner and helen Staniland at the HoL and the FPFW census JR.
