Posie Parker Zoom

Posie Parker has been warned by Zoom that her account may be suspended for promoting hate. Now she can sometimes go a bit far, but as far as I am aware all she does is deny TWAW, which is still supported by UK and probably US law. Are they going to ban the UK government when it debates trans rights too. This is absolutely terrifying over reach. Can anyone still be in denial about the deeply illiberal nature of this shit show. What have we let happen under our noses. What are we still letting happen? What is wrong with people? Why can't they see?

I imagine most of them came from considerably further away given it's an app which originated in the US.

Fair point, so I went and had a look. I don't know how extensive Linehan's shares have been, but the one I've found was 8km away from him.

I don't think it's something I would be morally comfortable with doing myself, but I don't think he's outed anyone in Poland there.

Funny how the only group their merchandise specifially threatens is women, hmmn?

Have you actually looked at their merchandise or is this another gender critical 'fact'?

I expect she meant "art". Everything is art so it's an easy mistake to make!

Yup, the art from the exhibition. So who else do they specifically threaten in their mechandise, jj ? I don't particularly want to guve their site clicks.

Actually I tell a lie, Char The Butcher wants "cis scum" to "die".

Maya (who is a very tall, very well built individual) actually wore the "I punch terfs tshirt in person. Seems pretty threatening to me.

I took a look at the merchandise. Plenty of mention of terfs there. They might not overtly say 'I punch terfs' but it's certainly not what you'd call a 'safe place' or an 'inclusive space' for most women.

I'd forgotten all about Char The Butcher

By the way.

Did anyone ever tell us why PP has been banned from Zoom? What her ban involves (ip address ban? Does this impact on other people in the household? Children, spouse, neighbours?)

Not that I'm not enjoying drawing parallels between this statement and various other statements.

I know it seems hard for some people to understand but not everything in the world is about gender critical feminists from the UK.

I might say, "I know it seems hard for some people to understand but not everything in the world is about trans rights activists from the US", while in a discussion about UK maternity rights, FGM across the world or cervical cancer screening in the UK.

'Either they only threaten women, or women aren't the only people they threaten', isn't something I'd be defending. 🙄

Where, I can't find one mention of it on their website: degenderettes.com/order#select

In fact women are given a discount to reflect the pay gap.

Yes, so might I. It's something gender critical feminists say, and therefore some transactivists like to turn it back against women.

I also find it interesting that some posters will persist in posting US examples to repudiate UK issues. While stating that not everything in the world is about feminists from the UK.

It quickly becomes quite clear when reading across threads and across time the extent that some posters will go to in a discredit attempt. But, many people read extensively on this board to be able to understand the background to current issues and it does become clear it is a repeated tactic to those readers.

A discount for women. When presumably they think a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman. Genius Grin

I thought that she was threatened with being banned, not that she had been banned.

Where, I can't find one mention of it on their website:

There are badges using the word terf. There are also stickers saying 'gender neutral restroom' with a cartoon toilet giving the finger. As I say, not Avery welcoming to women.

But hey, at least I could get a discount to buy merchandise to promote hating people like me. How lovely.

I don't think she has been banned by Zoom. this screenshot on glinner's substack is supposedly what she was sent but there's no name on it.

My mistake. Right. She has been given a warning. What for? What happens if she does get banned? Does Posie have to weigh up an impact on other people in the household?

Bonus question. How many of these do the "art collective" sell?

ftr I don't think anyone should be promoting violence towards anyone, and if you see it on a specific platform then I'd urge people to report it to that platform so that they can then take action according with their terms of use. what else is there to say? Confused

There is one badge saying "I survived the Terf war", that is hardly an incitement to violence. The vast amout of their merchandise is pro-feminist and pro-queer.

One badge with an axe on it, which is a fairly important part to miss out.

How many items inciting violence would be ok incidentally? One is obviously ok in your view. Would 2 be ok? 10? All of them? Because it's hard to understand why one is ok but a certain number at some point wouldn't be.

It's the double headed labrys, which is a feminist symbol, it is not inciting violence.
