Aesopfable ahh, ok I see what you mean. Maybe they have so few from the Indian subcontinent that they don’t think of them as a demographic or of including them in the demographic? A US citizen will explain it I expect.

Anyway clearly this investigative group haven’t done much investigating on anything about the UK yet so they really do need help.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 01/11/2020 19:44

Radical anti-gender movements against trans people include, for example, so-called “feminist” and/or LGB individuals, organizations and networks. Currently, the UK has some of the most active radical anti-gender organizing against trans people.

Is the endless repetition of "against trans people" meant to have a brainwashing effect? Gender ideology harms trans people along with everyone else. And what's a real feminist, if women defending women's rights are only "so-called feminists"?

No sane adult is going to answer a job ad like that, because the employers sound deranged.

But I have to admit to a little thrill of pride, reading Currently, the UK has some of the most active radical anti-gender organizing. We're not top of many leagues, but that's one we can all be proud of. And I'm glad to see our old LGB mates right in there with us "so-called feminists".

PostItJoyWeek · 01/11/2020 19:45

I assume that's because they don't actually care about the people involved Aesop. They are just playing Woke Bingo.

Like the way teenagers jump on the latest key words whatever they may be.

Their list is a mess by any measure. Black with a capital B, Asians and Latinx, which are all apparently a different thing to "people of color" (sic). Maybe I am missing something but I thought POC was American for not white.

In any case, I don't think the US woke quite get their heads around the normality of multi-generational mixed race coupledom in the UK. As this thread shows even as far back as Neanderthals. The idea of race as fixed and inextricably linked to social class is not so strong in Europe. They don't get it. Their failure to edit their valid oppression list shows it.

@BernardBlackMissesLangCleg

I know RuffleCrow, I'm old enough to remember when being anti-gender was considered de riguer for a feminist, rather than being thrown around as some kind of euphamistic insult

feminists are by definition anti gender you nitwits!

yup yup and yup... when did the nitwits become a protected category?
Cismyfatarsey · 01/11/2020 19:49

Is it a typo?

Do they mean ingenious? Or indignant?

fatblackcatspaw · 01/11/2020 19:49

I'm DISGUSTED! this 'investigation' of our uppityness is only going to last 6 WEEKS!!! I'm outraged surely our swilling evil will take at least A YEAR??? Do I need to redouble my efforts? Order more stickers? How can we turn around this appalling slur on us?

PostItJoyWeek · 01/11/2020 19:51

@thinkingaboutLangCleg your last post reminded me of this that I saw earlier.

testing987654321 · 01/11/2020 19:51

No sane adult is going to answer a job ad like that, because the employers sound deranged.

Sadly I spent some of this weekend interacting with a woman so indoctrinated to believe TWAW and are the most oppressed people ever that she would probably consider^^ them perfectly sensible.

Aesopfable · 01/11/2020 20:01

Under the Equality Act are you even allowed to suggest certain racial groups (white, black, Latin) apply but not other racial groups unless you can prove that they are under-represented in your organisation? Or perhaps Gate are currently over-represented by blind Asian lesbians?

PostItJoyWeek · 01/11/2020 20:07

Why are intersex people on the list at all.

Oooh, I hope someone with a DSD applies. Very hard for them to say no. Maybe Claire Graham? She ticks the boxes of skills, experience and having a DSD.

merrymouse · 01/11/2020 20:13

I assume that's because they don't actually care about the people involved

Almost as though they don’t care about tackling the ‘root’ causes of inequality.

Hmm, what’s that other word you can use use meaning ‘root’... 🤔

MichelleofzeResistance · 01/11/2020 20:24

'organising against' - er, speaking up to defend their rights. In actual fact.

Really quite extreme distortion of fact, reality and perception going on here, and it has to be considered why this extremely twisted view of other people having rights and needing to be considered too has become regarded by whoever wrote this as a hostile, aggressive act?

Because it's prejudiced to an extent that's tipped from unfortunate to really quite questionable as to its acceptability.

DidoLamenting · 01/11/2020 20:52

Why do deaf people get a special call out? No pun intended.

Baroness Emma Nicholson can apply as she has a hearing disability.
DidoLamenting · 01/11/2020 21:00

Oh and "color" is spelt "colour" in the UK.

merrymouse · 01/11/2020 22:09

Why do deaf people get a special call out? No pun intended.

I think because whoever wrote the ad is making a reference to this distinction:

www.bbc.co.uk/ouch/opinion/d_or_d_whos_deaf_and_whos_deaf.shtml

LangClegsInSpace · 01/11/2020 22:22

I can hardly believe that on MN of all sites, so little regard is given to the Beaker People Angry

Do better.

FloralBunting · 01/11/2020 22:25

Beakerphobes!

We're about to be investigated

But why people with a hearing disability or who want to be part of the Deaf community as opposed to people with sight or speech impairment who don't get a special mention?

BasiliskStare · 01/11/2020 23:14

@Needmoresleep - I too have shipwrecked Armada DNA in the mix .

My credentials are in tatters.

BlackeyedSusan · 01/11/2020 23:15

Beaker people were immigrants with their decorated clay vessels...

That gives you solid Latinx credentials, doesn't it?

Apollo440 · 02/11/2020 01:26

Anyone who believes TWAW won't have any analytical skills worth speaking of. But thanks to Dunning Kruger they won't realise that. And probably those employing them won't realise it too.
