Green Party Women need your help TODAY

Green Party Women has been doing a grand job championing women in the party, knowing that #sexmatters and providing great resources to support and encourage women to participate in politics.

Today the current committee is up for election and under threat of a take-over by a group that's single concern appears to be self-ID for transwomen - although trans folks have their own voice within the party in LGBTIQA+ Greens. They want the women's group too!

I really hate to say it, but it is probably more helpful for this hostile take over to happen and demonstrate beyond all doubt: this political lobby do not want women to have fair representation, a voice or anything at all left to them. And to demonstrate to the end, what happens to a political party that abandons the voters and any political reality to chase a niche single interest.

I am very sorry for the remaining Green/Labour women still trying to keep this ship from going down, but I'm not sure at this point there's anything left worth salvaging anyway.

Trouble is, Michelle, we are surrounded by evidence of that. It continues piling up, and very few people in power are drawing the obvious conclusion. We need every victory we can get.

There are lots of us who've been in the party for years who don't want to give up. The climate generally seems to be shifting, and with some more high profile cases over the next year it would be great to hold on, we might be in a very different place next year. And even if we lose it's good for the women who've been working tirelessly on this over the past year to see the support for them - especially those who have have been public and are taking the shit, but there are many more behind the scenes, so please sign up for GPW and vote if you're a GP member already.

And the reality is within a political party women's rights don't stand a chance unless you've got an organised group that has a legitimate mandate to champion women. If we are left shouting from the outside, while GPW is using its precious air space to add its voice to all the others in the party already prioritising trans demands over everything else, it's much, much harder to get the party to focus on what actually matters in women's lives. It's only in the last 2 years gc women managed to get this group back to focusing on women. Losing that last remaining voice in the party now would be a major set-back.

Id be absolutely delighted to see it move towards a more solid ground on the issue, but if the Challenor affair wasn't enough, I don't know what would be

Green Party is an environmental party.

That’s what the green bit is about. It doesn’t stand for envy.

Andrea Carey Fuller is a good egg. She left the Lib Dems after they lost her trust.

I fear she is however also far too good for the Green Party.

But gender ideology is not "far left" or "Marxist". It's individualistic beyond belief. It prioritises individual feelings over class analysis and material reality. It creates lifelong dependency on big pharma. Real far leftists and Marxists abhor gender ideology - see The Morning Star and the Communist Party of Great Britain.

There's nothing far left or marxist about erasing the biological reality of 51% of the population @pheebumbalatti. Say what you want about Marx but he certainly knew what a woman was!
