Bit like blackberrying, with added derailment, sealioning and general JAQ-ing off. I'll copy and paste the opening post of the last thread.

The useful Bunbury Guide to Spotting Community Disruptors is constantly evolving.

The best research and advice is not to engage with community disruptors and trolls. As ever, if you suspect troll activity, report it to MNHQ.

Remember there are people out there who would like to silence us by fair means or foul.

This is a continuation of the Public Service Announcement thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3944572-Bunburys-guide-to-community-disruptors-part-5?pg=40

If and when you see threads plopped into FWR, especially a curious repeat of well worn topics, maybe check for poster history before engaging. AS is your friend.

There are a number of posts/posters/threads that are reproduced on Twitter or Facebook to foment controversy using screen shots & flagging to either MNHQ to have threads or posters deleted.. Sometimes, it’s used to approach commissioning editors with ideas for articles. It’s a tiresome tactic that we always have community disruptor posters who themselves post the comments that they then highlight elsewhere as purported evidence of racism, religious intolerance, anti-men sentiments, or transphobia.

Some helpful links can be found in the ‘Break it Down for me’ and ‘It never happens’ threads but in essence FermatsTheorem recommended “that in the absence of a block/hide poster button, I suggest the following strategy (given that you're talking to the lurkers).

Do not name check the sealion. Instead, respond to a depersonalised paraphrase:

"It is sometimes erroneously suggested that blah. Blah is wrong for the following reasons (short and pithy). If you need more information re. debunking blah, here's a link."

Then (this next step is important to combat derailment) go back up thread to the last useful contribution to the discussion, make sure you do name check that contributor, and pick up the discussion from that point.”

Go well Witches gin

I like the frequent flyers, in the past I’ve been too frightened by the confrontation to engage, I now realise they are great sounding boards, it’s good to know what other people feel. I’m happy to Listen and talk to them if they are happy to Listen to me. I just feel like they don’t want to listen to my real concerns and post in good faith sometimes though. God damn it they make these boards fun though. They can all have a big piece of my blackberry roulade.xxx

Mammatino · 09/10/2020 22:42

I’ve found a little jar of feta cheese dolmades in Sainsbury’s if that help.
...We are also snapping our gypsy heels and going “aaarggharrgh” to the gypsy kings and sort of circling each other and shouting vaguely Spanish words. Do do do da clink shaky sexy Spanish shoulders xxx

Winesalot · 09/10/2020 23:37

Feta cheese dolmades? Is that a thing? I have got to add that to my list.

LurkyDeLurk94 · 10/10/2020 00:07

I have recently delurked and just wanted to say that I love seeing this thread pop up. It puts me in mind of a lovely Bundt cake with a berry compote. Perhaps someone more accomplished than me in the science of baking could magic up a recipe to make it real! I've recently delurked and am trying to learn all of Bunbury's ways. I only realised today (on another board) what PBP actually means. Having first encountered it 2 Bunburys ago I thought perhaps it stood for 'Poopy Bat Plopper' Blush To the good women of FWR, thank you for all you have taught me and continue to teach me, and may cake, chutney and Ginbe abundant in your lives.

Cocothefirst · 13/10/2020 13:19

I notice the monitors have been at work again making sure women don't talk critically about a certain medical person and their chums.

CaraDuneRedux · 13/10/2020 13:24

Shame, that thread had a link to the joyous double act between the medical person and PP on Sky News.

Fortunately, google is still your friend on this one...

persistentwoman · 14/10/2020 18:21

Thought it might be useful to bump this given the repeated derailing and merailing going on at the moment Maybe the faux naif slagging off of individual women and women's groups could alert us as to the real intent behind many posts? Just a weary thought.

CaraDuneRedux · 14/10/2020 18:39

I now skip that poster's contributions. Just don't read 'em.

Anyway, minor gadfly compared to the incadescent rage I feel towards the English RFU at the moment.

persistentwoman · 14/10/2020 18:41

Suspect it's displacement Grin

Hello, dear Bunburyites. I found myself missing Lang and some of the other MN stalwarts this afternoon, so composed this still life in tribute. Solidarity to all my sisters fighting the exhausting battles to defend hard-won female rights.

It's good to see you back GrinitchSpinach. You posted an excellent post on that sadly derailed thread.
But I'm not really sure about your most recent contribution to this thread? Grin

CaraDuneRedux · 14/10/2020 20:02

Hi Grinitch. Speaking for myself, I love your still life - the macabre in art!

GrinitchSpinach · 14/10/2020 20:04

Ha! I confess I have never dared sample the infamous Weetabix-banana horror. Rather have a Western omelette myself. I posted more in longing for the days when such recipes were understood to be exactly "in the spirit" of the board...

persistentwoman · 14/10/2020 20:07

I think this thread is allowed to post recipes without fear of the ban hammer - but after the RFU's appalling announcement today I'm all out of inspiration. I'm on the Gin in utter despair.

Is this an early preview of your Hallowe’en diorama Grinitch? It’s the only conceivable explanation for this frankly triggering image. I spent most of my early years gagging on soggy weetabix.
GrinitchSpinach · 14/10/2020 22:39

Naughty boatyard! I am meant to be cooking dinner for my children and now you've made me go and refine my tableau.

Someone left the door off the latch again 😒

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 14/10/2020 22:45

I can’t decide whether to be impressed or horrified by grinitchs tableau

littlbrowndog · 14/10/2020 22:47

After my most recent banhammer

I still hate that soggy weetabix she liked

Miss her 😥😥😥

persistentwoman · 14/10/2020 23:09

So glad to see you back littlbrowndog .

I'm now ignoring certain threads when I see the lies, slurs and gaslighting occurring. Otherwise I'll just get deleted.

Still not quite sure about that halloween tableau....

FloralBunting · 14/10/2020 23:11

I'm going to suggest to Lang that she uses that as her avatar in the other places she frequents online!! Magnificent!

ErrolTheDragon · 14/10/2020 23:55

Envyjealous of the ravens.
The tableau isn't complete - it's lacking a jug of hot milk.

terryleather · 15/10/2020 00:12

I am loving the tableau but if the ravens were drinking from a jug of hot milk whilst perching on a jar of Marmite it would be utterly perfect.......
FloralBunting · 15/10/2020 00:16

With those bubble tea things in the back ground, like drinking frogspawn. Very halloween.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/10/2020 00:23

WBH or W with butter and marmite. Bananas and marmite in the same tableau would cause some sort of fundamental imbalance in the universe.
