Rape fantasies. FFS

MiddlesexGirl · 30/06/2020 09:09

Is it not possible to just set up a GC forum? Is there a reason why it has to be a reddit (although appreciating that traffic may be better there)?

NonnyMouse1337 · 30/06/2020 09:11

Globally, POC are the majority.

Yes, it's amazing how most social justice types forget this fact. Grin

merrymouse · 30/06/2020 09:12

The only thing worse than oppressing a minority is oppressing a group which isn't a minority, surely?

It's basically noblesse oblige. Offer charity, but don't upset the status quo.

Starthere · 30/06/2020 09:16

@MoltenLasagne

To summarise the piece by Rifkind - people who get kicked off Twitter deserve it and should learn to play nice. If you don't agree with my opinions that's not being nice so you should get kicked off. Also, Twitter is simultaneously like a newspaper in that it can choose its content and also unlike a newspaper in that it can't be held liable for it.

Once again showing he should stick to puff pieces as critical analysis is beyond him.

Unless they are sending rape and death threats to women of course. In which case carry on tweeting!
bishopgiggles · 30/06/2020 09:18

@merrymouse

The problem isn't just sites like reddit, its also platforms like crowdjustice which removed Allison Bailey.
And Medium which has removed Spero's meeting minutes from a woman-centred online meeting

And won't allow their pages to be archived by the Wayback machine, which is the most 1984 thing so far, imo!

MoltenLasagne · 30/06/2020 09:20

Well exactly, he could also do with reading the DM piece on the proliferation of paedophiles rebranded as MAPs on Twitter and the fact that many women who reported such accounts found themselves banned.

I assume to set up any forum you need to be able to stop libel and harassment/ threats etc to avoid legal action against you, so moderation would be a major job.
MonsteraCheeseplant · 30/06/2020 09:22

@MiddlesexGirl There are other GC sites like Spinster for example and now the reddit subs have been banned, Saidit and Ruqqus (amongst others i'm sure) have sprung up. The reason for the post about reddit is because it was a very large forum and the GC sub had 65,000 members and something like 25,000 daily visits.

littlbrowndog · 30/06/2020 09:29

These are allowed on reddit

New gender critical women were pouring in to GenderCritical after peaktransing, and this Subreddit's popularity was further accelerated with the latest J.K. Rowling events. I know it would eventually happen, as we had gotten other GC more controversial subs already banned. It's a Fetish has also gone private and I bet it will eventually disappear.

Meanwhile, rape, women hate subs are still up and running, while lesbian subs have been literally taken over by trans identified males. They just can't stand anything not centering them.

I deleted my Reddit account this morning (after giving them a one star rating in Play Store) and will try to stay informed of new gathering places for us Gender Critical women online. We won't be silenced.

Redhair23 · 30/06/2020 09:51

I too have deleted and given them a poor review on Play store, it’s a toxic cesspit of trolls.

purpleboy · 30/06/2020 09:53

@littlbrowndog that's has actually made me sickSad

Why does no news outlets pick these stories up? Is it because they are scared of the backlash?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 30/06/2020 09:55

Shock really?

ShootsFruitAndLeaves · 30/06/2020 09:57

I’m not brave enough to post a thread on TwoXChromosomes going what’s the point of this sub if TWAW?

Twox was created in 2010 before this nonsense was mainstream. At the time it was just fact and reality and anyone who said 'actually some women have dicks' would be laughed at by everyone on the planet.

What happened is that transactivists are very active online and became moderators on there and gradually they decreed that the 'inherently transphobic' meaning of the subreddit name would be ignored because the platform was important for them to spread their ideas.

Lv16 · 30/06/2020 10:02

Yes, same here... 😏

Lv16 · 30/06/2020 10:06

Yes, same here ... and with other search engines 😏

RoyalCorgi · 30/06/2020 10:38

This is terrifying. I read the policy you are referring to and it seems to be written by people who can’t conceive of a situation where a majority group could be vulnerable.

These are presumably people who are too young - and too ignorant - to recall South Africa under apartheid, where a white population of four million ruled with an iron fist over a population of approximately 25 million black people.

WeetabixBananaHipsterFFS · 30/06/2020 10:44

Says it all.

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 30/06/2020 10:58

I removed my account and told them exactly why. Fuck Reddit. I was only there for GC.

Is 'colonialism' just a word they use without having a clue what it really meant, at its worst, in practice?
The protests of my youth were against actual, current, colonialism.

JKRismyhero · 30/06/2020 11:13

I have deleted my reddit and told them why too. Sick of this shit.
