I’m super frustrated by this. I stopped using reddit a couple years ago but was pretty active before, especially on the debate sub. I remember back in SRS days, before the trans insanity really took off. Then those subs all got abandoned/nerfed and feminism on reddit basically died. Then gender critical started. I remember being on TwoX and resounding incredulously to a TW claiming they didn’t experience male socialization, and being called a terf then someone linked to R/GC... Not long after my husband started to ID as trans. And my journey started.

Reddit really has always been a Misogynist cesspool. What we women built, they’d destroy or hand over to men at first opportunity. I’ll most likely finally join spinster.

The fact that true lesbians is gone is truly disgusting. They had strictly enforced rules against transphobia - there is no reason it should have been banned, other than the fact GC linked to it. It was literally the only sub in existence left for only adult human females. Fuck reddit.

I've just realized OP is on another thread, bowing out of the debate so he doesn't have to answer any of the uncomfortable questions put to him. Handy, that. No need to apologize or re-evaluate your opinions. No need to retract any former gloating, or own up to any patronizing behaviour. No need to thank the women who wasted their time showing you the error of your ways. No need to commit yourself to any change in behaviour going forward. No need to ask women what that change maybe ought to be. Nah, all that sounds far too much like emotional labour! Better just to scoop a few final pity points and gracefully bow out.

@contactusdeletus Such considered and patient posts on here, I enjoyed all of them. I used GC for many years and I recognise your description of it but certainly not the OPs.

I'm fairly certain every woman on this thread knows the OP is selling a highly doctored version of r/GC to convince women who didn't visit Reddit that it was a terrible place with terrible people but the fact is it was a sub Reddit which grew larger and larger in the time I used it so clearly those visiting to view the hate and staying to read the sense (so many women told us this happened) didn't see what the OP did. It was the fact it was growing daily which led to this banning because when you vilified it on Reddit people came to look and could see through the misrepresentations but now you think you can smear the r/GC community with impunity because no one can check. Your agenda is embarrassingly transparent and the fact the the PCOS sub and other female health subs are being brigaded, tone policed and combed for language transgressions (i.e. using words for female reproductive systems and parts we have used for many years) shows exactly what Reddit really wants to achieve. This coupled with the continued existence of delightful subs such as r/strugglef*cking (I think that's the name but whatever lovely name it has it is rape by any other name) and r/deadeyes shows exactly what Reddit thinks of women and that they will continue to attempt to shut them up. You then come over here to try this smarmy praise tactic to win over the women on MN ('oh you're not like the other feminist subs you're different and cool') treating us like we are all idiots. So condescending. I know you probably won't read this because this didn't go as planned did it? So you buggered off. Who knew women could think for themselves eh?

I know not as eloquently said as contactusdeletus but I wanted a further rant to get it off my chest.

Maybe I can dig them up and quote from them the next time the Terminator reconfigures his face. It's the same old arguments over and over, after all
