We're not losing here but the US and Canada (and to a point Scotland) feel pretty hopeless right now.

Of course North America is where all the big tech is based which is why all social media platforms feel skewed out of all reality.

they also banned gender_critical (similar rival sub).

But not gendercriticalguys

It'll only work in Scotland if they keep it all quiet, because the population is actually pretty socially conservative as a whole.

You can see how they got it through under the radar in Ireland, not a done deal that theyll manage the same in Scotland but the dirty tricks, misinformation and defamation are fully in play.

The genie is out of the bottle even in Scotland. And don't forget: that's where JKR lives!

But we will need help. The SNP's latest wheeze is this awful hate crime bill. Although don't get complacent: the English Law Commission is working up similar proposals.

The SNP are now carefully wording their references to GRA reform. They no longer refer to self-ID.

Oh yeah and they'll be looking for votes in 10 months' time...

Hey everyone. Another refugee from reddit. Heard good things about you all, and apologise for currently being too angry to be nice.
Thanks for having this space. And I agree, they wouldn't do this if we hadn't gained steam recently.

TRAs are incapable of making rational arguments to defend their positions. All they have is LIES and CENSORSHIP. Anyone who spent a week reading GC versus AskTrandgender or GCDebatesQT would be converted into a "TERF" and the TRAs know it. They know they're full of SHIT as much as we do.

According to this thread on twitter there were 27,000 daily users. No wonder it was considered a threat.

twitter.com/rGenderCritical/status/1277669550960652289

I caught up on their Peak trans thread a few days ago, it was full of new people saying how they'd come searching for an explanation after seeing the virulent hatred aimed at J K Rowling and not understanding the background. They came expecting to find evidence of hatred and threats to the existence of transgender people, and instead they were amazed at how sane and reasonable the GenderCritical sub actually was, and how sensible the gender critical viewpoint turned out to be.

It's obvious that some very influential people are feeling threatened now that the #nodebate walls have crumbled and evidence of their organisational capture is being dragged out into the sunlight, for all to see and judge for themselves.

I worry this forum will be forced to close the feminism section, it's just a matter of time.

Disgusting. I never had an account on Reddit but I'd visit the sub from time to time and it never fit the criteria for hate speech. What a load of wank.

Is there anything we can do? I'm at the stage where I'm sick of watching this unfold. Sick of complaining about it. I want to donate to causes who will fight the good fight, I want to complain and boycott and make life difficult for any organisation complicit in this silencing of women.

Is there anything a non member can do to hit back at Reddit?

@googledontknow we keep to the rules. Many of us have taken out the subscription so the threat of sponsors pulling out in negated. The mods are pretty good here. As long as Justine is happy to give us a voice then this board will continue.

Welcome to MN reddit refugees. It's an insane world where rape subreddits are fine but women's rights are barred but it's a small world. I do hope that the more insane the TRAs get the more the hang themselves. IRL we are the vast majority. We just need to make sure the legislators aren't captured.

I haven’t been here in a long time, but count me as another refugee. Can someone tell me the point at which 1984 ceased to be a cautionary tale and became, rather, an instruction manual?

Guardian reporting: equivalent to the Trump sub, no mention of the porn and rape subs still up.

No comments on and journalist has protected tweets. So nowhere to state the latter.

Scotland is very (small c) conservative compared to England and Wales. A little less so than Northern Ireland.

When these political actions get out to OFFLINE (the real world of women and men on the street) there will be hell to pay.

In Scotland this is in no way comparable to gay/ethnic/Traveller wishes to co-exist peacefully.

This is imposition. Talking away mens and womens rights. To be gay (Equality Act) To be religious (Equality Act) To be atheist. To be Male (Equality Act). To be female (Equality Act).

Some wonderful women on Reddit have compiled a list of subreddits that are still allowed up, reading it actually reduced me to tears at how much women are hated.
I feel so crap today. Sad

Not a reddit user myself but came on to say the femalehuman ban was a probably result of TRAs scouring MN, one of the little toerags admitted on twitter this was where he found the information then encouraged a mass report.

I bloody well hope they don't close the feminism section here Angry
