I was on baking subs, and embroidery too. I don't have Facebook. I only have Instagram. It was a good community. I'm genuinely so disheartened by it all.

Some wonderful women on Reddit have compiled a list of subreddits that are still allowed up, reading it actually reduced me to tears at how much women are hated. I feel so crap today.

Reddit is horrendous some times, it's easy to be cloistered in subs you sub to and not recognise the wider culture. This has all come in the same week that it came out that an (admittedly niche) ex streamer on twitch that I had watched a lot was accused of horrendous things.

Faith in humanity fading.

It is interesting that the TRAs are not pushing for these misogynistic subreddits to be banned.

I think that they are not objecting to /r/rapekink or /r/deadeyes says much about their real feelings towards and real interest in women

Can we please stop the ‘ooo FWR will be forced to shut down’ chat? They’ve targeted us for YEARS and we are extremely lucky that mn has solid statistical data about FWR use and recognizes that they provide a space for discussion. Play by the rules and no one is shutting down anything. Particularly with the premium subscription.

I came off Facebook years ago because it was toxic and I came off Instagram a few months ago because I spent too much time browsing completely inconsequential shite. I think I’ve run out of social media....

@prolfeed you are taking things for granted. There are lots of people on this very site who don't support fwr. When you are out on a limb its easy to chop it off.

Thanks @BaronessWrongCrowd I'll start paying for the subs, you make a good point which I hadn't considered that it secures MN against the pressure of losing sponsors.
I wouldn't ever want to dip my toes in the cesspit of reddit (have years ago, but it's not a place I would want to be) , and although I'm not a contributor to this board, I read and I lurk and I try to engage with people about this issue in real life.
I also boycott the shops/brands mentioned on here that are anti women.

There is no other way, we have to keep fighting this, women's rights matter, we will not be buried alive.

The FWR brings in a high level of traffic. As I said earlier we play by the rules, there is no issue. There have been numerous attempts to get MN to close this board down. Numerous pile ons. Yet MN, despite ghat pressure, continues to give us a voice.

I don't always agree with some of the moderation but I think they do a good job and I'm grateful to them all.

I also believe that that if ever Justine and MN thought of closing the board, they would give us a chance to air our views first.

I do think that after the huge victory that closing GenderCritical must be for the TRAs, they're going to quadruple their efforts here and really put even more pressure on Justine.

Which is why we need more spaces. We can't rely on having just one or two.

*Not a reddit user myself but came on to say the femalehuman ban was a probably result of TRAs scouring MN, one of the little toerags admitted on twitter this was where he found the information then encouraged a mass report.

Is reddit really anything other than lots of echo chambers? - some may contain debates but I'm never aware of them impinging on real life or being quoted in the MSM.

I've signed up to Spinster. It's looking good for an alternative to Reddit.

My local gc feminist group created a new subreddit vowing to stay within the rules (the old one did too, though) and it was banned within an hour. Before any discussion took place.

It is not about hate speech or following rules. Being GC is clearly the issue.

We’ve been out on a limb for years. Hasn’t stopped us yet.

This is a new low. No debate or discussion allowed between women on issues massively affecting their rights and freedoms.

I've had a big cry this evening to my DH - I feel overwhelmed realising at 35 how much the world hates women, how much they want to silence us and how far we have to go. I worry so much for my children.

Twitter, Reddit and Facebook aren't the internet. They are popular social media platforms but their censorship policies will kill them. Parler and Saidit are alternatives. Just watch them grow. How do they think this ends? Women just shut up and go home? I don't think so.

Wow! Some of the smartest, well read feminists posted on GenderCritical. I'm gutted. I need to take down my Reddit account but like the quilters and crafters, I'm going to miss my knitting group. Rather ironic that violent rape fantasy subs still exist but women who found sisterhood in r/Knitting and r/radfemmoms are now banned. Ironically, r/GenderCriticalGuys is still up! They are wondering how long they can last, is being an ally of women and girls now a hate crime?

I am gutted and furious and tbh surprised. I know I shouldn't be, but reddit houses discussions on rape and violence and all kinds of depraved shit and women discussing among themselves get banned?? Fuck them. Fuck the activist mods on most "women's" subreddits who only cater to women with dicks, fuck the admins, fuck all of them sad little wankers who can't handle women having an opinion.

I feel exactly the same way. I just deactivated my account and not-so-politely told them why. Silencing women, so woke, much progressive. Fuckers.
