Never posted on this board before, but nervous, but I’m furious.
Just bought some towels from Superdrug and the first line on the back of the packet is ‘A person who menstruates..’ I’m a woman ffs!
I shop in Superdrug all the time for their cruelty free stuff but no more!

Do condoms say "people with penises"?

FlamingoAndJohn · 18/06/2020 18:30

SOME PEOPLE WHO WERE BORN FEMALE BUT IDENTIFY AS MALE STILL GET PERIODS.

And some people who were born male but identify as female still need to shave their faces. I don’t see Gillette having the slogan ‘the best a person who shaves can get’.
This is why we get pissed off. It’s not so much the removal of the word woman but more the double standard. Men are not having the word men removed but women are.
All our lives women are taught to change our behaviour so men can carry on with theirs. We are fed up with it.

SuckingDieselFella · 18/06/2020 18:30

@SerenityNowwwww

Nope - Mens incontenance pants are all black packs with MEN stamped all over them.
What about female to male transpeople who are incontinent?

They need to change the wording to PEOPLE.

All packaging and wording which identifies products as male needs to become gender free.

And if they aren't going to do that they're a pile of steaming hypocrites.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 18/06/2020 18:30

I don't feel eradicated by acknowledging that not all people who menstruate define themselves as women. It doesn't affect my identity. It doesn't make me any less a woman to know that some people with the same reproductive organs and sex chromosomes as me don't regard themselves as women. It doesn't pretend there is no such thing as biological sex to acknowledge the existence of gender (although the absolute divide into female/ male in terms of sex is not universally accepted, which is often not acknowledged on these threads). The numerous cultures which have acknowledged the existence of third/ undetermined genders for centuries certainly don't seek to pretend that women and girls don't exist and I find it hard to accept that they must be wrong and the ideals that have prevailed here must be right.

You can @ me if you like but I won't reply :)

@FlamingoAndJohn give it time!

LST · 18/06/2020 18:31

@chubby who says they can't use the word woman themselves? No one. It is a packet of period pads that had the word person on them instead of woman. I just can't see how a word which has no impact on anyone's life who was born a woman and continues to identify as a woman causes them so much agro. It's so sad they're so bitter. Whereas it could mean a huge deal to someone else.

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 18/06/2020 18:32

@littlbrowndog I mean I'm being kinder to the LGTBQA+ community than you are. But okay.

SerenityNowwwww · 18/06/2020 18:32

@DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong

Virtue signalling fucktards. If they are that keen on attracting the custom of the tiny percentage of women and girls who cannot bear to be called woman or girl, they should make a special pack for them.

They can look to Lynx or Pot Noodle for masculine marketing tips.

Welcome to FWR, WomanWhoBleeds

Yes - and if they are not pink they might get them for cheaper too (if pink razors are anything to go by).
JellySlice · 18/06/2020 18:32

LST, which is it?

First you tell us, women objecting to our erasure, that women who don't like being women can choose to be whatever they wish to be.

Then you tell the women objecting to their erasure, that they* cannot choose to be identified how they like*.

SuckingDieselFella · 18/06/2020 18:34

@Jingstohang

Do condoms say "people with penises"?
Weirdly enough there is no reference to men on them.

But they do have mens' razors. Loads of them.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 18/06/2020 18:34

I cannot believe the transphobia on this website. Let's hope none of your children have gender dysmorphia. You'll change your tunes then

Bollocks will we. Loads of us have daughters who have desisted/detransitioned or are currently experiencing gender distress. We still aren’t encouraging them to have unnecessary surgery or pretending it’s possible for people to change sex.

JustJayne69 · 18/06/2020 18:36

I didn’t realise that FTM trans persons still menstruate. Silly me.

crazychemist · 18/06/2020 18:36

Ok, normally I'd be totally with you. But this is a sanitary product, right? So really quite specifically targeted for the sub-group of women that are menstruating?

SerenityNowwwww · 18/06/2020 18:36

Do they still sell those condoms for women?

dobbleby · 18/06/2020 18:37

All packaging and wording which identifies products as male needs to become gender free.

Does anyone know if there is a campaign to change this?

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 18/06/2020 18:37

@DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong gosh, that's a shame you aren't supportive.

I'm not saying you need to book a penis transplant for your daughter but... be kinder? Try and understand?

Thisismytimetoshine · 18/06/2020 18:38

Be kinder??

SarahTancredi · 18/06/2020 18:39

I dont view lying to kids to the point they irreparably change their bodies and lose their fertility chasing the impossible as being kind.

Um...... yes, female to men trans can still menstruate, why would you think they couldn't?

LST · 18/06/2020 18:41

@jelly I think you're putting words in my mouth there arent we?
