How can someone's chromosomes be 'vile'? Confused

Michelleoftheresistance · 15/06/2020 16:04

If you'd like people to listen to your views that they're being insufficiently caring and considerate to others and their choice of identity, you may want to model that consideration yourself. Females do not have to define themselves in relation to males because it makes males happier. Females are human too.

That is absolutely vile.

Whats vile about it?

Humans cannot decide what their sex is. Its biology and the sex you are in the womb is the sex you are forever.

I am sorry if truth and facts upset you but there is nothing offensive about it so....

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2020 16:05

I hope no one reports this person's posts, as they are quite enlightening.

AvaMonroe · 15/06/2020 16:06

For the record, I didn't decide my sex nor did I self identify I was diagnosed with gender dysphoria by psychologists and have transitioned medically, I will stop using the word Cis but not because it is offensive but because it's being latched on to.I take it TERF is offensive too? I am a woman and have just as much right to be here as anyone else and will continue to stand up for the trans women and parents on this forum.

Michelleoftheresistance · 15/06/2020 16:07

No one's said you have no right to be here, they've asked you to stop being offensive to females and to follow the forum guidelines. You might want to read them, they're at the top of the forum, while you're here busy telling everyone off.

Michelleoftheresistance · 15/06/2020 16:08

Incidentally you're making bit of an assumption that no one else on this forum is either a TW or parent of a trans child, Or LGBT+.

No I haven't assumed that.
Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 15/06/2020 16:10

If you weren't being so bloody antagonistic and offensive in the first place, you might find less of a need to 'stand up for yourself'

Michelleoftheresistance · 15/06/2020 16:10

If you've read the guidelines you know you're quite intentionally breaking them.

SusieMyerson · 15/06/2020 16:10

TERF is fine by me. Stands for Trying to Explain Reality to Fuckwits right?

titchy · 15/06/2020 16:11

None of us chose our sex!

But thank you for agreeing not to use 'cis', and yes as I'm sure you know TERF is generally used as an insult.

MichaelMumsnet · 15/06/2020 16:11

Hi all, we're just dropping by because we're getting a number of reports about this thread. We'll moderate some posts in a mo - but please do take a minute to read the Talk guidelines here
specifically, this section:

many feminists are affronted by the term ‘cis’ and ‘terf’, so using these terms will make civil debate less likely. As we’ve said, context is everything – but it’s likely that going forward our moderation team will delete these expressions.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2020 16:12

I take it TERF is offensive too?

Yes, obviously Hmm

OvaHere · 15/06/2020 16:12

Being male is just reality. If you weren't male you wouldn't be a trans woman would you?

Just own it and live your best life, trying to compete and agitate against women all the time won't make you happy.

Michelleoftheresistance · 15/06/2020 16:12

And no, a belief that sex is a fixed biological reality that never changes, and this is crucial to maintaining the necessary equalities and protections for female people, is neither against the law, nor against the rules of the forum.

JunoJigglewick · 15/06/2020 16:12

Storme started the stonewall riots and she was a lesbian.
Marsha was the black gay drag queen who is on record as saying the riots had already started by the time he arrived.

And I've fucking had enough of idiots in their twenties whinging about how because they don't like what JKR has said, it means Harry Potter is ruined and their life is destroyed. Because Harry potter is a fictional character. And JKR talking about biological truths and supporting women and girls has absolutely nothing to do with her work of fiction.

Where are the Cormoran Strike fans raging about her recent posts? Are they threatening to throw their replica wooden legs in the fire or scrap their replica landrovers?

Mermaids' faux sympathy at the start of their letter makes me angry. As though they are only sympathizing with her because whilst she experienced some instances of abuse, they know trans people have it worse and they are being generous by recognising she may have possibly had a bit of a sad time in her life.

Biological truths of binary sex does not erase transgender people. It is not literal violence to suggest or state that. I stand with JKR.

AvaMonroe · 15/06/2020 16:12

Antagonistic and offensive? Is this satire?
LastRoloIsMine · 15/06/2020 16:12

I am a woman and have just as much right to be here as anyone else and will continue to stand up for the trans women and parents on this forum.

Who said you didn't?
Lots of different people join MN.

I was diagnosed with gender dysphoria

I can only imagine how difficult it is to live with this mental illness.
My experience of mental illness is confined to PND not the same I know but its still affects me negatively.

You are not a woman. You are a transwoman.
I know you don't agree but you cannot force me to call you a woman.

SarahTancredi · 15/06/2020 16:12

Terf is highly offensive to so you can pack that in aswell.

You know full well no doubt the terf hashtag on Twitter and the threats made .

We arent god. we didnt create the rules of nature. If that bothers you that's not our fault so stop the abuse please

I don’t mind you being here 🤷‍♀️ You’re quite welcome!

The more people standing up for women and our children the better.

titchy · 15/06/2020 16:13

Surely telling a trans woman that I am male for life is against the rules?

How? A trans woman is biologically male. By definition. They have a female gender identity, but their sex is male. Sex and gender are different.
