Young women don't know what a woman is

BlackForestCake · 08/05/2020 14:23

This is absolutely staggering.

The latest poll commissioned by Wings over Scotland on the subject of self-ID, finds that all demographics in their majority believe a woman is an adult human female.

Except young women.

"The 16-34 female demographic actually voted by a narrow six-point majority that a person’s sex has absolutely nothing to do with biology. Even the next-closest group (young men) was a staggering FORTY points adrift from that view (net -34), and middle-aged women were close behind them at a net -36. Among women over 55 the margin against self-ID was a crushing 62 points (over 4:1 against), with older men at a breathtaking 10:1."

I'm not misinterpreting. My interpretation of acceptance means doing nothing. Your interpretation of acceptance apparently means accept treatment, or medical assistance.

So, in terms of trans issues what does acceptance mean to you? That could mean using puberty blockers couldn't it?

Lamahaha · 10/05/2020 19:34

So, in terms of trans issues what does acceptance mean to you? That could mean using puberty blockers couldn't it?

No. Because there is nothing wrong with the body. It does not need treatment or medication. In fact, medication (ie puberty blockers) would cause it to malfunction.

I think the "serenity prayer", slightly amended, explains it well. It doesn't have to be religious:

"May I have serenity fortitude to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference."

Among the things one "cannot change" would be sex.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 10/05/2020 19:37

The thing about puberty blockers, binders, surgery on the genitals, long term use of artificial hormones etc is that they have a negative impact of the health of the body. Which is something the medical profession generally does not encourage, especially in children.

Lordfrontpaw · 10/05/2020 19:49

To think as a species we’d managed to outgrow foot binding for that alluring teeny tiny feet and inability to walk, rib removal & suffocating corsets to get a teensy waist...

0DETTE · 10/05/2020 19:58

Merailing

Yes that’s the word I was looking for , thanks.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 10/05/2020 20:10

Half the thread odette half the thread...

And thats the amazing thing

isabellerossignol · 10/05/2020 20:14

Half the thread odette half the thread...

And half of every other thread they post on too. Truly a master of the craft of the merail.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 10/05/2020 20:19

Advanced search is always a useful tool when looking at a poster who spectacularly derails a thread. It's so often the same pattern

marvellousnightforamooncup · 10/05/2020 20:58

I think Scott here has some relevant points on Transing kids. They absolutely can't consent to it, they can't possibly understand. It is going to be a huge scandal, hopefully sooner rather than later.

popehilarious · 10/05/2020 21:27

Hooves does this on every thread. The first time I thought she had a point buried in there somewhere. Now the wilful derailing, "misunderstanding" and refusal to answer a key question that would put the argument to bed has convinced me she is not at all posting in good faith, has no interest in furthering the discussion past her own issues, and I scroll past every post she makes. I'd encourage people to do likewise.

CaliforniaMountainSnake · 10/05/2020 21:34

The thing about puberty blockers, binders, surgery on the genitals, long term use of artificial hormones etc is that they have a negative impact of the health of the body.

I would add to this that they are also selling them snake oil.
No amount of cross sex hormones or surgery will actually make you the opposite sex.

OldCrone · 10/05/2020 21:48

I scroll past every post she makes. I'd encourage people to do likewise.

Yes, that's what I should have done. But one surprise for me in this thread was that she appears to have no idea about what is going on in schools.

Lamahaha · 10/05/2020 21:55

I real must learn to do this. I fell for it spectacularly, and often do.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 10/05/2020 21:57

Yes, that's what I should have done. But one surprise for me in this thread was that she appears to have no idea about what is going on in schools.

Yet you asked me several personal questions, which then prompts the accusations of merailing? So you weren't asking them in good faith then?

As for not knowing what's going on in schools - I see what you all claim on here but I have teachers in the family - when I report what's said on here they look at me like I've grown two heads. So, maybe it's happening in some schools but certainly not ones that anyone that I know of has first hand experience of.

JellyFishSquish · 10/05/2020 21:57

popehilarious I was going to post saying the same thing when I was three pages back! Just...don't even. Scroll on by. Hooves is clearly derailing as their point (?) has nothing to do with OP.

OC, we have to just let it go. Hooves does not care what is going on in schools. Hooves will not answer that point. This is classic derailment and we must just let it go.

On point, however, is that my two DD both within that demographic 16-34 know damn well what a woman is. One of them cannot admit this knowledge at work though, I fear.

Alessi89 · 10/05/2020 22:00

Good for them!

Funnily enough, you see the same with homophobia and racism - far more prevalent in the older demographic.

Young people are open minded and can determine their own views. If you don’t like that OP, bad luck!

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 10/05/2020 22:01

I haven't been misunderstanding. I have disagreed. The gaslighting that some posters have engaged in however, by trying to persuade me that what was said wasn't actually said, or if it was said wasn't what was meant has been eye opening.

What I am learning about this board is that a) only women who agree with you 100% are allowed an opinion and that b)there is only the pretence of a debate on here.

You can all say what you like, even if it's misleading or just plain wrong but God forbid anyone dares to question it - oh no. Then the bullies come out in force to circle the wagons.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 10/05/2020 22:02

I wonder how many young women know perfectly well that what they're saying when they say TWAW isn't true, but also know that the consequences of saying so are so harsh that they won't say so even on an anonymous survey.

Pertella · 10/05/2020 22:04

Yes! I had 'you're bullies' on the list.

Just waiting for the supporters with no posting history now... 🤞

OldCrone · 10/05/2020 22:06

Hooves does not care what is going on in schools. Hooves will not answer that point. This is classic derailment and we must just let it go.

And hooves is unable to see outside her own personal experience. If it hasn't happened to her or someone she knows it hasn't happened anywhere any anyone who says otherwise must be making it up.

The only thing important to hooves is hooves' own personal experience.

It's merailing.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 10/05/2020 22:07

Good for you. At least I'm not a coward who hides behind name changes. Nor have I asked a poster repeatedly to divulge personal information to then use it to throw back in their face. So yes, bullies is an apt description.

And my opinion is just as valid as the rest of your opinions.

isabellerossignol · 10/05/2020 22:09

Yes! I had 'you're bullies' on the list.

Me too. I knew it was coming, I could have set my watch by it.

I disagree that debate isn't 'allowed' here. I've had debates many many times, and seen many others have debates. But a debate only works if both parties are willing to explain their thinking and not just twist people's words and/or assert that everyone else is a bully.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 10/05/2020 22:09

OldCrone

And you had no right to ask me personal questions to then turn round and accuse me of merailing or only being concerned about myself, when I asked them.

That was low. I responded to you in good faith.

Pertella · 10/05/2020 22:10

I wonder how many young women know perfectly well that what they're saying when they say TWAW isn't true

As I said before, theres no consequences for parroting TWAW when your boundaries havent been breached.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 10/05/2020 22:13

But a debate only works if both parties are willing to explain their thinking and not just twist people's words and/or assert that everyone else is a bully.

Come off it. That has been in the last few minutes.

I have been explaining my opinion and why I hold it, I've answered questions just to be face abuse.

Debate is absolutely not welcome on this board. Anyone who posts in disagreement is treated exactly as I'm being treated right now. All of the same phrases are used.

Only women who agree with you are allowed an opinion.
