How is this anything other than a men's rights movement?

Totally agree @RedToothBrush. Noticed a significant change in level of empathy with identity bollocks in the last couple of weeks, especially in relation to non binary identities. It's like everybody else adapted but the gender team completely missed the memo and continued shrieking about pronouns. They've never looked more like they exist on a completely different planet and the self-obsession is laid bare. They don't even seem to have noticed.

Look, who can blame her? Personally I feel she is providing us with some very valuable insights, probably afforded by all the time one has as a woman when there isn't a Topshop changing room to frequent and a feminist debate to loudly clack one's knitting needles over. I wonder if she has any advice on the care of computer hard drives, too...anyone on Twitter care to ask? Grin

Radio 4 now all about the differences between men (XY) & women (XX)

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000h2c0

Women are faring better than men in the coronavirus pandemic because of their genetic superiority, according to the physician Sharon Moalem. He tells Kirsty Wark that women live longer than men and have stronger immune systems because they have two x chromosomes to choose from. In his book, The Better Half, Moalem calls for better understanding of the genetic gender gap and for a change to the male-centric, one-size-fits-all view of medical studies. ...

No Fae on the show? Expert knowledge and all that...

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/04/2020 09:41

Yes, what were they thinking?

Lordfrontpaw · 06/04/2020 10:43

genetic superiority Can’t fake that.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 06/04/2020 11:13

you can fill a man with oestrogen, but the cells that are responding are still male.

Indeed. Just no way to identify round this, really.

Viruses don't care how long your hair is, how much make up you wear, or how silky your dress is. It's just irrelevant. What matters is your chromosomes, sorry to be so reductionist.

PertEllaTitsahoy · 06/04/2020 11:21

Chromosomes are transphobic too huh?

WrathofFaeKIopp · 06/04/2020 11:23

And what do you think of female genetic superiority Fae?

Do tell.

WrathofFaeKIopp · 06/04/2020 11:26

You can block the testosterone, but those testosterone cell receptors never go away.

A terrible surge of testosterone waiting to happen.

Like a blocked sink.

NeurotrashWarrior · 06/04/2020 12:00

Thanks for the link R0, absolutely fascinating and confirms many things I've wondered about why there's always more males in sen schools.

NeurotrashWarrior · 06/04/2020 12:02

"Genetic super power" XX

💪 !

Oh and also why more autoimmune diseases in women.

terfmcgee · 06/04/2020 12:49

It is not great to conflate MRAs with feminists, yikes! As a feminist, you'll be so shocked to learn that I love some men! That does not mean I think feminism is about them, it does not need to be about them, that is not the same thing as hating men.

RedToothBrush · 06/04/2020 12:51

It won't surprise me if we find that a higher number of women die of coronavirus at home than do in hospital when the research is eventually done.

RedToothBrush · 06/04/2020 12:59

Especially because there are so many more women in care homes than men.

And its looking a lot like people in care homes have all but been abandoned to over stretched carers who have no PPE and no medical skills. The policy seems to be for 'palliative care' but that is a stretch as a term as there doesn't sound like there is as much care going on as there should be.

R0wantrees · 06/04/2020 13:03

Red Yes, the implications for those resident, working in & responsible for older people care homes doesnt seem to be fully realised by many yet. These people are disproportionately female.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 06/04/2020 14:48

I have a friend working in a care home whom I'm worried for. She won't even talk about what's going on at work.

Fae might like to take note.

Ah but that does not specify cis women. Its only cis women who are bad and selfish. That graph and stats are clearly transwomen. As transwomen and 'cis' women are different, yet the same dontyaknow Hmm

GrumpyHoonMain · 06/04/2020 22:58

Nature needs women to live longer because we have useful parts to play before, during, and after reproductive age for the survival of our species. Men don’t.

MrsTerryPratchett · 07/04/2020 02:56

I actually remember being told it was an adaptation from millennia of only getting fed after the men had nabbed the best stuff, but with hindsight that bit might not have been entirely scientifically proven

Nope. Gathering has been more calorific and regular than hunting in most places so that's unlikely. Also men who didn't share meat were ummmm unlucky in other reproductive areas because force really only works when you can guard resources.

So the likelihood would be that evolution favours longer lived women because of usefulness. Women gather into old age, tend the fire, take care of kids, know where the water is, and on and on. Young men can hunt, defend and that gets old quickly. Society (evolutionarily) benefits from young strong men and old clever women.

My favourite theory is that insomnia in menopausal women is so we can stay up all night guarding the fire/on watch. Bastards.

Thanks red. I needed a new username 😬
Oh Janey. Silly girl. Don’t worry your pretty little head about it. Let the real women get on with it and make sure you self isolate, you poor little thing.

This sexism is glaring and the trans fashion trend is just about to hit a bloody big road block

Oh Goddess, I HOPE so.
