Piers Morgan with Lisa Nandy on Good Morning Britain

He’s trying to push Lisa Nandy as to whether any man can self identify and compete in woman’s sports. He’s actually trying to talk some sense and saying it’s unfair to woman’s rights. Making really good points about trans rights overriding woman’s rights.
She will not give a straight answer to anything.

Eww most politicians are refusing to go on GMB. That's why I said upthread that I think Kevin Maguire persuaded her to do it.

Piers can be a right bastard but viewers like right bastards interviewing politicians. Nandy not only looked worried, she also had her "this is not fair" face on. Piers probably has a far better instrinct for what the average viewer thinks is fair - it does not include blokes in women's weightlifting - and he hammered her with it.

She looked like she knew she was talking crap...

RedShoe thanks did not know that. Interesting. So do we know if Kevin M has a preferred candidate for Labour leadership?

I keep wondering when the penny will drop for some of these people, "why can I not answer this question in a reasonable way?"

If you can't explain why you believe something then maybe you don't really believe it after all.

It will never drop, any kind of critical thinking ability is totally gone.

she also had her "this is not fair" face on

At the moment people who were worried about Brexit and are now very worried about Coronavirus are not that convinced by the effectiveness of a politician doing their "this is not fair" face at a serious problem.

And yet if a biological woman has to stand on a 2nd or 3rd place podium spot next to a trans woman in 1st place, wearing the same face Nandy had on, no doubt Nandy would brand her a disgusting transphobe who needs to be expelled from the sport.

I’ve just watched the 9 minute clip. I thought PM’s focussed line of questioning was really effective in shining a light on the issue. The physical advantage and biological distinctions in sport are self-evident, as is the unfairness. Once people grasp that and, for some, the absolutely minimal changes required to transition, it doesn’t take a genius to extrapolate to other settings.

Sport and specifically the Olympics will blow the lid off this & let the sunlight in. If I was a TRA I’d be praying really hard right now that Coronavirus delays or cancels this summer’s Olympics.

We all know and she knows that men cannot become women. We watch her dissembling, prevaricating and avoiding answering the key questions. And she knows that we know.
She's so terrified of the intimidating trans bullies who will savage her and take down any hope she has of the leadership that she does the very thing that renders her unsuitable for a leader. Tell the truth.
It's actually sad to see.

" Eww most politicians are refusing to go on GMB"

not sure why she did, she must have knownntrans rights would come up and Morgan would be enjoying himself at her expense.

She really sounds like someone who cannot cope outside of woke circles, it was as if she was expecting Morgan to be reprimanded for bullying. Yes, he is a bully but in this instance it is part of his job.

Thanks for posting clip.
Astonished that she refuses to answer very straight forward question about whether it's fair for men to compete against women in sports. Everyone knows it's not fair and that women have campaigned for centuries to be able to compete in sports against other women.

" She's so terrified of the intimidating trans bullies who will savage her and take down any hope she has of the leadership"

and Morgan had done his research on this, he knew all the lines she was scared to cross and pushed her towards them.

There's a daily express article on this (I don't read it, but it popped up on my suggestion list under Google) which describes it as 'career ending' in both the headline and the main body of the text. Very much written from the perspective of wtf is she on about.

Sunlight sunlight sunlight.

How can people vote for someone this detached from basic reality? They can't.

Starmer needs the same questioning, yes.

This is excellent but it's a shame Piers Morgan is, well...Piers Morgan. He hardly ever gets taken seriously thanks to being a general bigoted oaf. Just because he was right this time, doesn't mean anyone watching will give him any credit.

The Daily Express exagerates for clickbait but it was not a good interview and will look even worse in clips

I still think it could have been muc tougher

The obvious knock out question to her spiel about commisions etc was to ask her why she was so certain WPUK should be expelled. A reference to hundreds of women she wants to purgs at the rally would have been kicking her on the floor.

Actually, I think lots of men do take Piers seriously. I can't stand him, but it is good that this whole issue is at least being discussed on mainstream media.

Worth observing the other people on screen. They were not going to be caught smiling or anything, so a couple looked down and the man next to Nandy shot her the odd "wtf" look.

She must have know what the questions were going to be? Surely she has some media help? Did she really think the Castor Semenya response was going to be a "gotya"?

It is one of the more amazing clips I have seen. All would-be politicians should watch. I am looking forward to the LibDem leadership contest, and Layla Moran in Piers' hot seat.

Piers Morgan is popular with blokes. This will peak people. All my colleagues are male and they’ve been sharing it.

I think interviewers etc need to go hard on the "assigned sex at birth" bollocks. Because it's basically coming from a crazy paranoid conspiracy theorist pov
