He’s trying to push Lisa Nandy as to whether any man can self identify and compete in woman’s sports. He’s actually trying to talk some sense and saying it’s unfair to woman’s rights. Making really good points about trans rights overriding woman’s rights.
She will not give a straight answer to anything.

Thank you :)

I think it really is about not grasping the consequences of what they are doing. They do think they are being compassionate and kind and that anyone who doesnt see it their way it by definition bigoted and hateful.

They dont grasp the consquences of self ID because theyve barely lived. They cant understand the implications for women when you define one half of the human race out of existence by saying anyone who feels like a woman can be one.

katiegoestoaldi · 10/03/2020 09:39

I wish it was just the young 'uns but I am surrounded by people aged 30+ who buy into Self ID and the freedom people should have to live their lives how they choose. Anything else is not #bekind and is just bigotry. Voicing concerns is bigotry and being obsessed with other people's genitals Hmm

StarintheMorning · 10/03/2020 09:50

They all got it, everyone around that table got it, apart from Lisa Nandy.

She didn’t come across as supporting women at all, even though it was endless ‘pitting two groups against each other’. She jumped in incorrectly, that PM had said Transpeople were grotesque, when he clearly hadn’t, and when pushed at the end she just came across as surly and nasty.

If she had accepted immediately that, of course it is wrong, we need to look very carefully at all of this to ensure that women’s rights and trans rights are upheld, she would have sounded so measured and considered. No chance of that, of course.

Nanalisa60 · 10/03/2020 09:59

Well she won’t be getting my vote!!

Not her finest hour!!

LizzieSiddal · 10/03/2020 10:07

I only caught the last few minutes but my goodness I’m glad this happened. She came across as a complete idiot and liar. She said PM called trans people “grotesque” when he clearly did not. But it’s what GC people have had thrown at them for years. I’m so pleased this has had sunlight.

She was trending No1 on twitter at one point.

The best one for me was “Lisa Nandy, absolutley drowning in her own bullshit”.Grin

SarahTancredi · 10/03/2020 10:17

Bloody hell. I didnt think she could look any crazier after the comment about the male rapists in womens prisons but she did it. Thats one hell of an achievement.

There is not a single rule that would mean it's fair for men to compete on women's sports so wtf was she on about

Shes lost it completely

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 10/03/2020 10:24

Place marking for a clip of this to become available!

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 10/03/2020 10:24

she and all the others are terrified of the tween zealots in their party arent they? I remember when I read Wild Swans that one of my abiding impressions was the pitilessness of the children and tweens in the Cultural Revolution. Of course they had been deliberately indoctrinated but it really chilled me how they were weaponised to turn on their own parents and teachers.

The film Farewell My Concubine was made as a sort of apology for the fact that the filmmaker was one of those pitiless young people once upon a time (and then he grew up and realized what he'd done). The Wokerati could do with giving it a watch, but it's long and has subtitles and no nudity so, you know, boring.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/03/2020 10:26

I need to read Wild Swans - I have a copy and have for years but never got round to it!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/03/2020 10:26

And always meant to watch that film too, thanks for the recommendation

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 10/03/2020 10:33

Also shamelessly lurking for a clip

Labour are lost

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 10/03/2020 10:36

There's also an element of the childish Good versus Bad thinking that Labour is marinating in going on here. Piers Morgan is Bad, therefore anything he says is fair game for Good Person Lisa Nandy to deliberately misinterpret and twist to make him look terrible, and he has no right to object to that because again, he's Bad, and if you object to the blatant fuckery happening right there on your screen then you're Bad too.

greywoollyjumper · 10/03/2020 10:39

Lurking for clip too. Worrying times when Piers Morgan is the sensible one in the conversation.

Geoffreythecat · 10/03/2020 10:40

Today's episode is on the ITV hub now www.itv.com/hub/good-morning-britain/2a3211a2739

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 10/03/2020 10:44

At what time would the Nandy bit be?

Whatsnewpussyhat · 10/03/2020 10:52

I think it's worse when these women KNOW they are talking shite but still carry on defending it.
If they put the same amount of energy actually standing up for females they wouldn't be in this hole in the first place

andyoldlabour · 10/03/2020 10:52

I find this beyond incredible, that anyone standing for leadership of a major political party (albeit one which has lost its captain and rudder) in the UK in the 21st century can behave like this.

JessicaLangoustine · 10/03/2020 10:54

The Wild Swans analogy is a revelation!

she knew what her baby was due to it's wristband

Please tell me Nandy didn't actually say this?

zanahoria · 10/03/2020 10:59

Lisa Nandy on Victoria Derbyshire says she won't be judge and jury on Trevor Phillips

Victoria doesn't ask about the pledge to purge, why Lisa felt she was judge and jury on WPUK and LGBA.

shockingly pathetic journalism

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 10/03/2020 11:03

So, man who's said things Lisa might think are not appropriate - she won't judge. Women who've said things Lisa might not think are appropriate - expel them from the party?

The extra sting in the tail here is how consistently women are throwing other women under the bus while still retaining at least some level of respect for men, all the while trying to use the fact that they're women as a reason why they'd be the better leader. I know the psychology behind it but that doesn't make it any less frustrating to watch.

JessicaLangoustine · 10/03/2020 11:03

So the idiot Dawn Butler says

that it was not appropriate to discuss the subject on GMB because “you cannot answer trans issues in soundbites.”

But Nandy says

babies are born, they are designated a biological sex, when they grow into adulthood that often becomes problematic. I don't see what's so difficult for you to understand

So answering the entire trans issue in a frigging soundbite.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 10/03/2020 11:04

But they won't get to grow to adulthood before deciding under the policies Nandy supports.

JessicaLangoustine · 10/03/2020 11:07

Victoria Derbyshire isn't a journalist. She's a TV personality and a racist, woman hating nasty piece of work, which she disguises, like so many BBC types, in the cloak of woke (in my opinion).

Justhadathought · 10/03/2020 11:08

She will not give a straight answer to anything

That's because she has now got a new line ( & one she's sticking to for now), one perfected out of the storm of the recent controversy about sex offenders being sent to women's prisons. She needs to be throughly engaged with and taken much further......

Justhadathought · 10/03/2020 11:12

Such a shame.....used to see Lisa Nandy as the best of the current crop.....and one to look out for in future. She's seriously compromising herself and her integrity over this issue.
