Well, not branded as story hour, but the drag queen is reading a story to primary school children... Brought in by an MP (Mhairi Black)

“Thank you to Flow and @MhairiBlack for sharing their experiences with us today. It was really important to hear about Section 28 and the negative effect it had. Thankfully now we teach #LGBTEducation proudly at @Glencoats_PS #LGBTQProud @LGBTYS @LGBTHistoryScot

I've wanged on about this in the past, but Mhairi Black is my least favourite politician. All mouth, no thought, portrays herself as a chip shop worker when she's as middle class as they come. Her arrogance is quite breathtaking, especially considering she has one of the worst parliamentary attendance and responsiveness records going...

NeurotrashWarrior · 24/02/2020 14:13

Ah sorry, he's RT Mhairi.

Langbannedforsafeguardingkids · 24/02/2020 14:16

To be honest it seems to me to promote drag to children as typical of either the trans or the gay community seems pretty transphobic or homophobic. I'm sure the fairly normal gay parents I know would think so - they - like all other parents - are all for safeguarding of their kids in schools.

Why can't they just have normal gay people / trans people doing normal jobs - not dressed up in a grotesque way?

ItsAllInMe · 24/02/2020 14:16

Sorry trying again to post the original tweet from the Head Teacher of the school in question that she posted in January looking for 'any' LGBT people to visit her school in February (see my post above) The person who retweeted it and tagged Michelle Visage and Olly Pike works for LGBTYS. Think this will work (fingers crossed)

God Black on Twitter is like a 15 year old let loose on Social Media. Does she write her Tweets or get the work experience kid to do it? And why don’t they EVER reply to anything?! I thought that point was to “connect”🙄with people. No it isn’t-it’s to promote yourself

OvaHere · 24/02/2020 14:24

I'm increasingly of the opinion that these various champion schemes are woke versions of ponzi/mlm schemes.

Schools, organisations and businesses buy in initially at low cost then find themselves slavishly chasing the next level, the next charter mark, the next award. Until they are in so deep they succumb to sunk cost fallacy and have no way of extracting themselves.

In the meantime those running the schemes fill the coffers and use that money to lobby politicians and legally shield themselves from criticism.

It's not unlike the way Amway and Herbalife operate in the US.

Lordfrontpaw · 24/02/2020 14:26

(too lazy to look) where is she the MP of?

Sweetpotatoaddict · 24/02/2020 14:33

Paisley

jadefinch · 24/02/2020 14:33

Mhairi Black's Twitter timeline is gobsmacking.

She's mocking people for having concerns that she enabled 5 year olds to be exposed to a sex entertainer.

She clearly doesn't understand child safeguarding and needs to be suspended pending an investigation

definitelygc · 24/02/2020 14:35

I agree that the "woman of the people act" that Mhairi had going has been shown for what it really is now. Prejudiced tweets about homophobic parents buying their kids GTA is something a Telegraph hack might write, not a so-called champion of the working class.

NeurotrashWarrior · 24/02/2020 14:37

Ah good detective work Its....

Siameasy · 24/02/2020 14:38

I’m just mortified that MPs can be so thick. And it’s the females showing themselves up recently FFS

Mockersisrightasusual · 24/02/2020 14:38

...or Scientology. It's wokey dianetics.

Yorkshirelass04 · 24/02/2020 14:57

If a woman dressed up like Flowjob and decided to act like that and read to kids there would be serious consequences.

Somehow women's bodies are profane but men wanting to emulate them isn't.

Devlesko · 24/02/2020 15:03

aw, there's a man who does this comes from Manchester, was on Granada reports last week.
The kids were really enjoying the story, and an absolute to teach children we are all different.

Lordfrontpaw · 24/02/2020 15:06

Paisley?

Jesus I've got inlaws over there and they don't see the type to not turn up with pitchforks be happy about this,

VickyEadieofThigh · 24/02/2020 15:30

Apparently the kids asked for it. They have a Rainbow League.

ONLY if it was suggested to them. 5-year-olds have no notion that XXX-rated drag queens exist.

Except for the ones in this school - they do, now.

Lordfrontpaw · 24/02/2020 15:34

What do you want kids?
We want a filthy drag act!

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 24/02/2020 15:36

lord Grin I used to work in Paisley (RAH) it really really doesn’t add up does it!

Stunned Black hasn’t buggered off to run Stonewall yet

jadefinch · 24/02/2020 15:38

'Mhairi' is now trending on Twitter in the UK.

I don't think having Owen Jones jump in to agree that anyone who has concerns is a homophobe or transphobe has helped her case all that much.

When you think that Derek Mackay was sending sexual messages to a schoolboy and that Alex Salmond's court case over sexually abusing women starts soon, the SNP are coming across as the abuser's party. If they don't suspend Mhairi Black over this then they're telling everyone they don't see this neglect of child safeguarding issues as a problem

Lordfrontpaw · 24/02/2020 15:39

Knife fights among family members were common (along with alcoholism, the off murder attempt, and a smattering of domestic violence).

Nice place... I reiterate - (Ex) IN LAWS

334bu · 24/02/2020 15:39

Lordfrontpaw · 24/02/2020 15:44

It shows an absolute disregard for safeguarding and dreadful judgement by the Head, teachers and that Silly Black creature. They all need hailing over the coals.

I wonder if the parents have also seen the school rainbow twitter account (it’s very very very LGBT focussed). Our school twitter account is all ‘what the vicar said in this weeks service’, who won the football league and what’s happening with the Corovirus.
