Fabulous article:

Speaking out against transgender extremists has made me the most hated man on the internet, writes Father Ted creator GRAHAM LINEHAN

I hope he gets a Knighthood for being vilified wrongly just for standing up for women's rights and freedom of thought.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 09/02/2020 06:00

I hope he refuses if offered.
Obviously he will never be offered as you have to move in certain circles, rub elbows with certain people and follow the state opinion for decades to get one, he does none of this.

BitOfFun · 09/02/2020 06:02

Bravo, @Glinner, bravo.

NotBadConsidering · 09/02/2020 06:27

Great article.

HelgaHere1 · 09/02/2020 06:44

I am going to send link to my MP as he has exactly my views.

CupoTeap · 09/02/2020 06:56

I've just come over to see if anyone had mentioned this, this is such an amazing article he articulates it all so perfectly.

SophocIestheFox · 09/02/2020 07:03

That’s a cracking article. Well played Glinner.

I await with keen interest the delegation of the New Puritans assigned to Mumsnet this morning to arrive to tell us how utterly fuckwrong we are for approving of anything Glinner says Grin

I mean, aren’t you lot supposed to be feminists or something?? You should be hating all men on sight!

InfiniteSheldon · 09/02/2020 07:04

providing a smokescreen for fetishes, conmen and misogynists simple eloquent explanation of the situation. It does however make me so sad that only a man will be listened to over this.

PaleBlueMoonlight · 09/02/2020 07:07

Really pleased to see this.

StealthPolarBear · 09/02/2020 07:11

Completely agree that in years to come we will look back at this as a scandal. It can't come soon enough, at this point enough harm has been done already

stopshoutingd · 09/02/2020 07:13

Wow. I love the way he talks about debate or the lack of it.

theflushedzebra · 09/02/2020 07:16

Good to see Glinner's plain speaking in print - his use of accurate language in that article that would probably be a deletable/bannable offence on MN. Just shows how far MN has fallen in policing women's language.

SarahTancredi · 09/02/2020 07:21

Brilliant article!!

Cheers glinner!

Dozer · 09/02/2020 07:22

It also highlights how capricious and precarious the creative industries can be. Even for people with a track record of good work / success.

A relatively small number of people/organisations with power / money have little accountability, and people competing for work very little power.

Lots of interesting reports online on the lack of diversity in the creative industries and advantages / disadvantages of certain groups, eg privately educated/wealthy men.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 09/02/2020 07:22

That's really good.

I'm impressed b ugh Graham's resilience in this, when he has nothing to "win".

BringbackLang · 09/02/2020 07:22

Excellent article. You've summed up how I feel. Thanks Graham.

Lamahaha · 09/02/2020 07:24

In a nutshell:

I believe trans people –those unfortunate enough to suffer body dysphoria – are having their condition exploited and trivialised by abusive, controlling and authoritarian trans rights activists. And I think women and children are suffering because of it.

Brilliant.

BringbackLang · 09/02/2020 07:26

He's absolutely right in what he said.

I recently filled in a equality form for a council. It had such gems as what gender are you and Are you the gender you were assigned at birth. It's everywhere and utterly absurd.

Dozer · 09/02/2020 07:27

So, for example, a commissioner of a TV series could take decisions for whatever reason and, unless their bosses objected, not need to justify it.

The status quo in TV and other creative industries often advantages established writers/directors (usually white men) - a recent example IMO is Andrew Davies and Sanditon. But clearly not always, eg if for whatever reason a writer has pissed off the people with power, as perhaps in this case.

RuffleCrow · 09/02/2020 07:32

Nice one Glinner. So much truth in one short article. And well done with the fee donation to woman's place.

Newuser123123 · 09/02/2020 07:37

Well done and thank you if you're reading this x

isabellerossignol · 09/02/2020 07:47

That's an excellent article. And much appreciated by me.

WalkingOutOfFlabbiness · 09/02/2020 07:53

Sensible and true.
