Fabulous article:

Speaking out against transgender extremists has made me the most hated man on the internet, writes Father Ted creator GRAHAM LINEHAN

With 600k followers he’s not adding his voice he’s controlling the narrative. And is silencing good women in the meantime 🤷🏻‍♀️

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 09/02/2020 12:41

So you are saying he's talking to TOO MANY people?

andyoldlabour · 09/02/2020 12:47

VeniceAllan

Thanks, that clears it up.

andyoldlabour · 09/02/2020 12:49

"So you are saying he's talking to TOO MANY people?"

Yes, because if you do that, then everyone will find out.
Oh, hang on a minute Wink

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 09/02/2020 12:50

Honestly as long as people are talking about what happening it's all good in my eyes.

MsMcWibble · 09/02/2020 12:53

Brilliant articles. Thank you Glinner for everything you are doing. I hope you are ok.

midgebabe · 09/02/2020 12:54

Comments in the times are good, and unlike a year or so ago when I felt that I recognised many voices in similar comment thread, this seems to be a a much broader batch of people

RuffleCrow · 09/02/2020 12:56

Some people would say Glinner is now talking to too many people, but having 600 k followers is a drop in the ocean compared to all the public and private organisations now being controlled by illegal, unscientific and undemocratic regulatory capture by the M/TRA lobby and the many millions of people who are simply to terrified to speak out against it - including most MPs.

Hobgoblin27 · 09/02/2020 13:01

That’s not what I said was it?

MsMcWibble · 09/02/2020 13:02

I am grateful to him and Venice Allen and Sweary Godmother in the same way I am to both Posie Parker and Julie Bindel. I admire them all. They've all taken a load of shit to support women's rights.
This.

that's not what I said is it

With 600k followers he’s not adding his voice he’s controlling the narrative.

It certainly seemed like that's what you were saying, he has too many followers to be "adding" a voice.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 09/02/2020 13:06

don't tell those of us who expect male allies to be actual allies of women and girls that we are the problem.

Which posters have said you are the problem?

Kantastic · 09/02/2020 13:08

campaigning for porn,

when has he done this, exactly? What a pot-stirring thing to say.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 09/02/2020 13:09

This isn't an issue that just affects feminists, it's will cause damage to most of the public.
It's not going to be solved by feminist groups, it needs everyone talking.
Everyone needs to be informed.

74NewStreet · 09/02/2020 13:11

Love ya, Graham

Dreamprincess · 09/02/2020 13:19

SpartacusLangClegicus I confess I used to watch porn and still have some graphic videos in my collection showing grown women and men. Putting aside the appalling trafficking of women and girls, there was a time (possibly not now) when some women were queuing up to join up with Ben Dover and the rest for the money. Terrible I know, but that was their choice. Softer porn was all the rage at one time.

But now we need all the help we can get to stop children being unnecessarily disfigured for life: if this means getting into bed with some possibly misguided people, then so be it. As I said before, I don't think we can be purist in such a worrying time for our children: let battles against him for apparently approving of trafficking be fought separately, please.

Floisme · 09/02/2020 13:20

I am not lauding Glinner the man because I don't know him. I am lauding this article and I also appreciate him using his voice and his following to help bring this issue out into the sunlight. He didn't need to.

ChattyLion · 09/02/2020 13:22

Everyone needs to be informed
Yes- for all of our lifetimes and over generations
This is will be an endless task to achieve and maintain. Misogyny is so entrenched.

There is literally never going to be any such thing as talking to ‘too many’ people. We all need to talk to more people and to keep doing so all the time, just to begin to make a dent in their awareness of this undemocratic authoritarian misogynistic homophobic shitshow that is affecting hospitals, schools, prisons, losing women their paid work and putting them in fear of their safety and livelihoods if they just speak or write against the dogma. Also a dogma that’s grooming a generation of girls and young women to think all this is normal and right on and boundaries are just for nasty old people.

Reading this thread, I'm having a bout of deja vu...

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3647573-Dickpandering-in-feminism?pg=1

While there is certainly a discussion to be had about men's involvement with feminism/the gender critical movement, I wish those who have what looks like long standing and ongoing beef with each other (and with Glinner) would sort it out between themselves instead of expecting anyone else on here to be interested, given that the vast vast majority are not privy to what actually goes on/went on.

And to quote the late lamented Lang from the above mentioned thread:

We might like to ask ourselves this question: why are we slagging each other off just because a penis did something predictably and annoyingly penis-like, or indeed, arguing about whether or not that penis did actually do this incredibly predictable penis-like thing?

I miss you Lang and your shitty choice of breakfast.....

Floisme · 09/02/2020 13:32

I agree terryleather - I've also been reading this thread and thinking of Lang.

ThatSwearyGodmother · 09/02/2020 13:35

Thanks for that terry I thought it had been deleted.

I am still nonplussed at the way men are being lauded and applauded for repeating things women say when those women are ignored or worse. I am also nonplussed as to how women are unpersoned for holding controversial views on a subject other than trans, yet men are given a free pass.

That we still get accused of axe grinding and meanness when talking about it on the feminism boards boggles me.

7Days · 09/02/2020 13:37

Can you not just agree with him on this issue, and disagree on others?
Its maddening that no-one will ever be pure enough to say the sky is blue.

What is the actual point here? Is it to protect women and kids from a pernicious ideology. We must keep our eyes on the prize surely

ThatSwearyGodmother · 09/02/2020 13:40

For me the point is for the women who do this to get the same amount of uncritical love as the men do. Jean. Posie. Venice. WPUK. Everyone I’ve offended by not mentioning them. They don’t get the uncritical love. Maybe when they do Graham can have it too.

Oh, and I’d love to sort out him agreeing with a post calling me a “far right white supremacist” personally and in private but as I’ve been blocked I can’t. What’s a woman to do? Stay silent, it seems.

IfNot · 09/02/2020 13:44

Sorry I just can't do Twitter-what does "he campaigned for porn" mean? Can anyone explain?
I mean, if he watches porn, well yea, he's a man, big shocker. 99% of men watch porn at some time or another. I hate porn, I'm against it, but that's just a fact. It doesn't mean that he can't be right about the war on free speech and the gaslighting about what a woman actually is, does it? Or are we expecting people we agree with on one issue to be ideologically pure in every way? Because if that's the case it's going to be a feckin long wait for the messiah..
I get really frustrated with the in fighting and egos.
Child safeguarding is my #1 concern, followed by protecting vulnerable women in prison and recording data accurately.
Anyone who is on the side of those things is saying the right things afaiac.
