Why is there always money for this. Everywhere. Facilities old or falling apart or unsuitable for current demand, school books all outdated and ratty, hundreds if kids needing assessments from ed psyches, patients waiting for years on lists, all because of a lack of funding. But suddenly theres money for toilets. Really?

When I retired my treat to myself was membership of some London museums and galleries.

Used to love the V&A members room - tiny and hidden away - nothing showy.

They redid it, moved it, bigger, proper bar, more food choices. Gender neutral loos. Basically a trad ladies loo, sinks in a row, mirrors, cubicles.

I met some very embarrassed blokes the first time I used it. The last time it truly smelled vile. Such a stupid idea. The old loos were unisex/accessible/ fully enclosed with sinks.

Yes, exactly. Despite the push by woke twitterers insisting that gender neutral toilets are just fine and "your toilet at home is gender neutral" Hmm - out in the real world, people don't want this.

It is beyond stupid to replace toilets that nobody had complained about because of some woke ideology imposed from above.

The women’s loo converted to GN in my building is now very much smellier. Fortunately, single sex loos have been retained so at least I have a choice.

Most places I have visited have not (yet) gone down this gender neutral loo nonsense being pushed on society by wokesters.

My local shopping centre, cinema, pubs - all still got M & F.

AND I recently visited a University with DS1 for an open day, and was actually surprised to find M & F loos still intact there. Not a gender neutral sign in sight.

So it hasn't completely taken over yet - I think people need to be more vocal in objecting to this nonsense.

Why are they doing this? Who have they consulted? Have they even bothered to ask employees if they want mixed sex toilets? I doubt it very much, as if they had asked they would have no doubt got a resounding no.

Which is how it's always done. In the hush hush. Kids go back after the holidays to find the toilets changes. People return to work after xmas and it's been changed.

If it's all so.legit and everyone wants this why keep it secret?

I need to try and discuss this more with DH (though its hard because the moment i start I get very "AND ANOTHER THING" and he stops listening) from a workplace welfare POV

health and safety which is what DH does generally encompasses work place wellbeing as well. I cant see how it adds to womens wellbeing to have 'gender neutral' loos. He did a whole piece of work on a construction site because they only had one toilet (which is common on construction sites out in the countryside) and had a woman come to work on site and there was a huge discussion about whether it was right to expect her to share the toilet with the men.

We have a ladies toilet in work and there is frequently pee right at the back on the porcelain (not the plastic seat) where a ‘lady’ presumably is lifting the plastic seat, standing to pee, and using either a shewee or has a penis and is peeing everywhere. Disgusting. Clean up after yourself ffs.

It’s the kind of mess men are routinely slated for on MN. Peeing everywhere and walking away. Inclined to therefore think it’s a man identifying as a woman. It happens during the day. No men have been spotted using the loo. We have one ‘lady’ with manly features but I don’t know if they are trans or not. Could just be a woman with a square jaw etc.

Clean up after yourself ffs.

I don't understand why this isn't an expectation. I'd rather adults cleaned up after themselves but, failing that, that cleaning rotas reflect the genuine need for clean-up.

I understand that companies/public loos don't want to leave dangerous chemicals about where children can get them or they're a hazard but the corollary is that they need very frequent cleaning in high traffic areas and decent maintenance.

The new Galeries Lafayette on the Champs-Elysees in Paris has these gender neutral toilets. They stunk and the seat and floor was covered in a puddle of pee. Grim.

It was very busy when I was in there and plenty of the shoppers (Male, female, French and tourists) were complaining.

I would like to know why this is being pushed on women from above - when it is so clearly not wanted by the majority.

You're right Theflushedzebra.

The public are never asked, women / children are never asked. I have yet to hear of an organisation who can produce any sort of customer / user / worker / child consultation where it shows that staff/ people are demanding / asking / requesting to share toilets or changing rooms with the opposite sex. They don't exist because decent people respect boundaries and don't demand to undress with the opposite sex .

However, when you look behind the scenes at who is pushing for this it's a very small number of powerful male dominated organisations (who centre some very well connected dodgy creeps).
