@ScapaFlo - understood. In the case of the ponds, transwomen can go in the women’s pool but transmen are not allowed in the men’s. I hope it is an exception rather than the rule. I know people are here are aware of the ponds situation but neither dh or I had heard anything about this inequality until now.

Men can go in the women's pool if they ID as female but women going in the men's who ID as male get chucked out.

And quite right too, it's a historical and ongoing place for gay men to meet in a city that used to have few opportunities. Women understand that and say good luck to them .

Why can't men give women's spaces the same respect FFS.

Not while they are at the urinals, no. Protocol prohibits looking or speaking.
According to male family members and a co-worker the posh toilets are sometimes referred to as their office because so many meetings before the meeting take place there.
