Now granted, I've not fully fleshed this idea out, but in the light of @theflushedzebra pointing out that trans activists never seem to stop giving each other awards, we should have our own virtual FWR awards for services to feminism in 2019.

As the founder of this ceremony, I expect designers will be queuing up to allow me to "wear" them.

Post your nominations below, and feel free to describe how fabulous you look at the ceremony!

My nomination for best British female solo artist goes to : Maya Forstarter for grace and clarity under considerable pressure.

I want to nominate Angela and Leanne from Get the L Out for their sterling work at Pride events.

I also want to nominate the unnamed women who spread the word on a day to day basis by starting conversations and promoting GC opinions on social media, supporting the movers and shakers.
We have some amazing women in Wales who are doing this work in the face of much opposition. Others have listed all the women and groups I admire and support.

What a fantastic way to honour Magdalen ❤️

Great thread! I wish I could buy everyone a drink of their choice. Maybe even the unwilling sherpas - but it will be in special vulvic glasses..

Has Owen Jones been nominated in the Sherpa category yet?

definitelygc · 06/12/2019 07:14

Yes to everyone mentioned. Nominating Rachel Moran and Fiona Broadfoot for the Ovaries of Steel award. Cut to a clip of Rachel Moran looking deep into a male TV host's eyes saying in her Irish lilt "I won't hear any more of this sex work utter nonsense, the main skill of a prostitute is resisting the urge to vomit".

HandsOffMyRights · 06/12/2019 07:16

Definitely Jacky - Services to the Equality Act

Cuntysnark · 06/12/2019 08:28

Has Stella O’Malley been nominated?

Uncompromisingwoman · 06/12/2019 08:49

Spero - barrister Sarah Phillimore for relentlessly pursuing the NSPCC over rubbergate and forcing them to reverse their position that complainants were bigots for pointing out that NSPCC staff should not be publicising their rubber wanking fetish in the workplace. They were forced to act and to refer themselves to the Charity Commission.

TheCuriousMonkey · 06/12/2019 09:01

Caroline Criado Perez, Cordelia Fine and Gina Rippon, jointly awarded the award for services to feminist science writing.

RoyalCorgi · 06/12/2019 09:20

The Sherpa award is difficult because there are so many candidates - Haddock, McKinnon, Steph Hayden, little OJ. Probably though the one person to bring more people than any other to the peak of Mount Trans is Jessica Yaniv.

LangCleg · 06/12/2019 09:39

I think Lil OJ should get the Sanctimonious Morph award in a category of his own. I just looked for a picture to accompany this suggestion and the temptation to post the penis-related one is overwhelming. But I'm on the naughty step for being insufficiently compliant towards Phillip Lee, LibDem misogynist, so dare not. You could google "naughty Morph" if you are as childish as me.

TinselAngel · 06/12/2019 09:43

I just googled "naughty Morph"!Shock
