From The Fail unfortunately maybe someone can find another source but I cant see one atm.

Transgender lobby forces sanitary towel-maker Always to ditch Venus logo from its products

Sanitary towel pad maker now kowtows to transgender activists born female
They removed the feminine Venus symbol from its products after complaints
Butmany of Always’s female customers have responded angrily to the move
Sanitary towels with the new packaging will arrive in the stores by January 2020

Are always the smelly ones? Can’t really say they’ve lost me as a consumer.

Lemongrasssugar · 20/10/2019 10:19

And now the other thread is getting shut down.

I’m going to send mine back to the buggers if I can find a stamp. Or not.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 10:23

So what’s a good brand for a heavy period?

Lemongrasssugar · 20/10/2019 10:24

Cheap Kotak night time ones are good. But they are bulky.

PerspicaciaTick · 20/10/2019 10:24

It's very odd. A significant proportion of Always potential customers object to the distinctive artificial floral scent, but their opinions are discounted. A tiny minority of transmen object to a logo and Always bend over backwards to accommodate them.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 20/10/2019 10:25

lemon what other thread...whats the reason?

mumwon · 20/10/2019 10:25

isn't cupid the male (demi) god of love (clutching at straws)? (ignoring the idiocy of the theme/point of the reason for this thread!)

PerspicaciaTick · 20/10/2019 10:25

Although if they introduce a new cedar wood and bergamot range it might be popular.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 20/10/2019 10:28

I haven’t used Always for a few years since they started scenting their standard pads. I told them so but did they care? Nope. I know there have been multiple threads about it on here with women saying they make them itch and give them thrush. Not to mention the fact they seem to think women should walk around with a chemical smell ‘disguising’ their period smells Hmm is ridiculous in the first place

They did bring out a range of non-scented at one point however they were more expensive Shock I switched to a different solution once I realised the scented pads smelt rank and gave me thrush

Yet despite this it takes one transman to complain and they change their brand? Fuck sake

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 10:32

I’ve seen then another message - pointing out that this is on the national press so again asking if this was true.

They have a phone number on their site. They didn’t answer my email and on the auto response it did say call if they didn’t respond.

ThreeLittleDinos · 20/10/2019 10:32

Real women are born with dicks. As far as I can see, the last thread was deleted because commenters don't believe this.

I'm boycotting always, never bought flora etc anyway. But if these threads and perfectly fine posts keep getting deleted, Mumsnet will be next.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 20/10/2019 10:34

What's the male one called?

"That pointy knob arrow thing"

Quaffy · 20/10/2019 10:36

kuga

That’s a disgusting comment. I don’t think they should have removed it either but that’s uncalled for.

Hoppinggreen · 20/10/2019 10:39

You know, I’m about as GC as they come.
I’ve attended Women’s Place events, argued endlessly with my woke 14 year old and defended MN against baseless claims of transphobia
BUT I am a little uncomfortable with the instant assumption on here that it’s TransWOMEN who have objected to this symbol. It’s TransMEN
I know they aren’t usually the ones hitting the headlines but in this case they are so before dragging TW into this and making us look like the hotbed of transphobia we are all too often accused of please read the article (or do research if you don’t want to look at The Mail).

drinkswineoutofamug · 20/10/2019 10:40

What's the address for proctor and gamble? Got some used towels no long fit for use to send back.

Neome · 20/10/2019 10:40

So if you had an old unused Venus logo pack of Always and donated it to a refuge would it be a hate crime? Or have I got a bit confused?

Wheat2Harvest · 20/10/2019 10:49

Only people who are genetically female menstruate (as if that needs pointing out). Hence the female symbol on the packaging is appropriate. It seems to me that some large corporations are running scared of offending a small but vocal minority but don't care about alienating their core customer base.

I have always bought Always for my daughter but won't be buying them again. There are plenty of other brands.

Geppili · 20/10/2019 10:50

For this and the vile scent, I will never buy Always again. Ever.
Penus logo made my Sunday. 😂

Birdsfoottrefoil · 20/10/2019 10:51

I suspect mumsnet is twitchy after flora and doesn’t want us boycotting advertisers.
