Why not use tena men pads then. I assume they provide a similar function.

I used tenna products after birth of DC3 they were incredibly effective. If I were ever going to have more theyd be my first choice they saw me through everything. Not a drop of amniotic fluid was spilled (except when the midwife moved my pads across the room and I had to get them). Excellent for the post birth bleeding and all the delights that brings.

They are available in varying sizes and dont all look like nappies. Some are very discreet.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 16:55

With the added benefit of proudly displaying tena man in your basket and not yukky girl stuff.

TequilaPilates · 20/10/2019 16:57

Tena pads are much more expensive than always though.

MrsSnippyPants · 20/10/2019 16:58

I have still had no response to my question about why the thread I started on this exact same subject was removed.

Remember the Yorkie bars - for men? Weird stuff indeed.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 17:06

Although I think it's pathetic that trans men would be bothered by the packaging, I find it equally pathetic that women are bothered if this logo is removed from packaging. I don't even look at the packaging and wasn't aware this logo featured on it. For women to get defensive about this logo as though it really represents us is just ridiculous in my opinion. Packaging gets changed all the time anyway. I think there are many trans issues that have the potential to really affect women, this for me isn't one of them.

HandsOffMyRights · 20/10/2019 17:06

Yes and Snickers 'you're not you when you're hungry' man turns into Joan Collins and Elton John.
Obviously women and gay men are all divas?

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 20/10/2019 17:07

Im not bothered that the packaging is changing

I couldn’t tell you what the packaging was

I bothered about WHY the packaging is changing

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 17:10

@ MonChatEstMagnifique - it’s the principle of the thing. Why push to hard to erase the symbol? And why would the company - who have ignored calls by women about the stinky and itchy scents in their products - rolled over on the say so of 2 folks who say they aren’t women (but biology means they have to use sanpro for the usual reasons).

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 17:13

I'm not bothered that the packaging is changing

I couldn’t tell you what the packaging was

I bothered about WHY the packaging is changing

But that's my point. It's petty of transmen, although I bet most couldn't care less. So then some women are being equally as petty. It doesn't matter, there are lots of trans issues that really are important in terms of the potential to harm women, concentrate on those and don't get drawn into the rubbish like this.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 17:19

it’s the principle of the thing.

When people say that, it's usually something petty.

I hate scented sanitary towels, I commented on a thread the other day about it in fact. I did complain but most women I know who don't like the scent, haven't complained. Just because people moan on a thread about it doesn't mean they are complaining to the company unfortunately. It's very different to change packaging than to change the actual product, if it is in fact true. Packaging changes all the time so even if this is the reason for them taking the logo off, they wouldn't need to admit it.

I still think people should stick to the important issues.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 20/10/2019 17:22

concentrate on those and don't get drawn into the rubbish like this

Kind of ironic bearing in mind where we are

Quaffy · 20/10/2019 17:25

Viewed in a vacuum it would be petty but it’s part of a context in which women can no longer describe issues relating to the reproductive system as being matters which relate only to females. I believe that does matter, a lot.

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 20/10/2019 17:30

I disagree; I think women need to start being much more vocal, using their spending power for every single attempt to erase our visibility.
So what if it means we are as petty as transpeople, our rights are being eroded in front of our eyes because we are too accomodating, too nice , too fair. It’s all gone far enough and I simply can’t be arsed to take the high road any more.

Rubidium · 20/10/2019 17:33

Shouldn't there be a separate masculine-looking brand of sanpro for people who have periods but are men somehow? Probably called something suitably macho like Clot Patrol or I'm Too Tough To Be Bothered With Periods.

This reminds me of the time an ex-boyfriend found one of my non-applicator tampons and asked where its 'gun' was.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 17:34

The nighttime ones are in macho black or dark blue.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 20/10/2019 17:38

I think women need to start being much more vocal, using their spending power for every single attempt to erase our visibility.

I don't see this as an attempt to erase our visibility. It's means nothing to me. If it really does to you, then of course you have every right to be vocal. I won't lower myself to the pettiness shown by anyone complaining about a logo.

TheChampagneGalop · 20/10/2019 17:51

What really gets me about this is that many women have complained about the scented products (which can be unhealthy!) but Always haven't listened. But somehow, a complaint about female symbols on the packaging is worth listening to.

leeloo1 · 20/10/2019 18:24

It's weird, I do buy always and they have only just introduced the new packaging with the female symbol on. The older packets I have are far plainer. I assumed they'd introduced it as a "these are for xx women" statement.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 20/10/2019 18:35

It's means nothing to me

I don't care about parking threads. I really don't. So I do this thing where I don't click on them, or read them, or comment multiple times on them. Works for me.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 18:37

It’s just one thing.

But then if you think where else ‘just one thing’ is going - loos, sports, changing rooms, woman only shortlists and jobs, crime stats - it’s the everyday things that kind of make this ok.

If every time the word woman, girl, period, cervix, ovaries, breast... is used, then after consideration changed to person, people etc then it’s just showing who is more important.

I used to think I it was just wilful mischief when men complained about not being able to take part in the breast cancer runs - but now it just pisses me off when women are referred to as menstruators because some people who have periods say ‘I’m a man, and biology triggers me! So don’t say the word’.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 20/10/2019 18:37

Looking at their Twitter feed is interesting as you can see there has been a regular volley of messages from trans men about this recently. Almost one might say, a campaign.

Perhaps half of their recent tweets are on this theme. And the squeaky wheel gets the oil...

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 18:38

But not the squeaky ‘we don’t want stinky sanpro’ women.

ThreeLittleDinos · 20/10/2019 18:45

It’s just one thing.

But then if you think where else ‘just one thing’ is going - loos, sports, changing rooms, woman only shortlists and jobs, crime stats - it’s the everyday things that kind of make this ok.

Exactly. But this is something every woman can do, don't buy their products. Vote with your money.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/10/2019 18:47

Getting fed up of the ‘one things’. It’s relentless, like a game. See how far they can go by whinging and threatening.
