Any more information out there on this?

OP posts:

Hmm pity there's no comments allowed under that article.

TirisfalPumpkin · 11/10/2019 18:01

If you want to avoid giving them clicks, here's some more sympathetic reporting than Penis News, quoting Julie Bindel too:

www.afterellen.com/general-news/572679-lgb-alliance-to-form-as-stonewall-cant-defend-lesbians

I want the LGB Alliance to happen. It will be getting my direct debit and eternal gratitude. It is so, so needed.

VinandVigour · 11/10/2019 18:11

I very rarely set up a direct debit for anything if I can avoid it, but I will do so in a heartbeat for a new organisation like this. I don’t fit into any of the LGB categories, but I supported Stonewall in the good old days, their DDebit has gone the same way as those to Amnesty, NSPCC etc.

So I have a little bit of money waiting for a good home.

HandsOffMyRights · 11/10/2019 18:25

Thanks to Simon and co. for going back to the true origins of the likes of Stonewall, to support the LGB community.

It's shame on Stonewall that it came to this, that it no longer supports, protects or even recognises the definition of lesbians. In fact, it places women and children in danger.

Stonewall followed the men, the money and lost its ethics.

I am not part of the LGB community, but I am a parent of a child at a Stonewall Champion School and a woman who believes in supporting women and ensuring that the regressive bullying, misogyny and homophobia that stems from some members of the 'T' community is outlawed, so I will contribute to this.

Voice0fReason · 11/10/2019 22:06

It would be amazing to have an LGB alliance.

TimeLady · 11/10/2019 22:20

Good to see what we all suspected coming out in the afterellen article linked above:

Julie Bindel, author and co-founder of Justice for Women, signed for similar reasons: “The fault with Stonewall is twofold: ignoring the plight of women under patriarchy, and doing it for financial gain. This taps right into the image of Stonewall – representing rich, white, gay men.”

“I know from my own personal dealings with Ruth Hunt that she doesn’t hold with the trans ideology – that trans women are women. But she went along with the millions of pounds that it gave Stonewall at a time when their job was done. Equal marriage passed, along with legislation to end discrimination against same-sex couples and lesbian and gay individuals. So Stonewall followed the money – millions of pounds to promote transgender ideology.”

Shame on you, Ruth Hunt, Shame on you.

NonnyMouse1337 · 12/10/2019 04:33

I wonder if it can be traced where all this money came from to promote transgender ideology.

TipseyTorvey · 12/10/2019 07:03

I too would donate to a lgb only support group. I am not lgb and but have DC that I would like to have support of a wider network should they be lgb when they're older. I'm really concerned at the trans messaging in schools which plays to gender stereotypes instead of just allowing kids to explore all kinds of dress and activities. I am horrified at stories of small children having hormone injections before they have had time to mature because some organisation has convinced them they're in the wrong body.

Juells · 12/10/2019 07:07

I wonder if it can be traced where all this money came from to promote transgender ideology.

There's a youtube video about the American billionaire (trans) who has funded so much of the regulatory capture. Photos of his sister with Obama just before Obama suddenly became a committed trans supporter :(

Juells · 12/10/2019 07:10

Ah, found it

TimeLady · 12/10/2019 07:20

Here's another one, US billionaire philanthropist Jon Stryker:

www.arcusfoundation.org/board-and-staff/

who "supports the advancement of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) human rights,"

Add in the infamous George Soros and his Open Society Foundation:

www.opensocietyfoundations.org/explainers/essential-legal-right-trans-people

"Trans activists and allies around the world are advocating for their rights by introducing or changing national laws or regulations. The Open Society Foundations provide financial support to trans-led or LGBT organizations that promote progressive, rights-based processes for legal gender recognition."

The trans movement has no shortage of billionaire backers.

ForeverFaff · 12/10/2019 08:56

I'd be very happy to set up a direct debit for such a group. I have no 'skin' in the game as such, but feel that any woman told she has to accept penile penetration as part of her life, affects all women. Once some women can't say no, it's never too long until all women are under the yoke again.

Sadly, once the group is up and running, any discussion about fundraising will have to be embarrassingly disguised as 'digging holes'.
@MNHQ should be ashamed.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 12/10/2019 09:02

I would donate. I have an LGB teenager and someone needs to fight for their rights and Stonewall isn't much use any more.
More importantly, awful things are happening to gay people in the rest of the world (which is likely to impact here too as there are refugees) and someone needs to fight for them.

TirisfalPumpkin · 12/10/2019 11:55

I don't quite understand the thinking behind banning direct discussion of crowdfunders. Maybe someone can explain it?

I can see how personal ones could go wrong, i.e. bad actor posts emotive thread in Relationships or similar, kind women donate, turns out to be bs - but this is political stuff on a forum for discussion of women's rights, and a key way to advance rights is to raise money and use it. The court case ones, or ones involving a potential future registered charity, are independently verifable.

Good point Countess - the idea that the gay rights struggle ended when equal marriage happened in this country is a pretty insular outlook. We're part of a world where gay rights are still pretty thin on the ground.

Aspley · 12/10/2019 12:12

It can't happen soon enough.
Stonewall and the rest are now openly homophobic.
There are no safe spaces that lesbians can go to without trans activists ruling the roost, ready to expel lesbians who say they wont do dick.
What they are doing to lesbian/questioning young girls in schools should be actionable.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 23/10/2019 05:22

So pleased to see this launch. I cant see the website but like others I'll be very happy to donate. I imagine that a lot of the people who previously donated to Stonewall will be doing so too.

TirisfalPumpkin · 23/10/2019 07:38

Looks like they’re still getting set up but you can follow them on Twitter at AllianceLgb.

I’m so happy this is happening.

AnyOldPrion · 23/10/2019 08:07

Is Miranda gay?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 23/10/2019 08:18

I saw this on twitter - watching with interest.

MyFoofIsAloof · 23/10/2019 08:26

Unfortunately there is also #Alliance LGBT
Some people may confuse the two.

OhHolyJesus · 23/10/2019 09:16

I'll sign up for a direct debit too. Simon, if you're reading, thank you.

TirisfalPumpkin · 23/10/2019 09:39

Not sure if Miranda is gay (or bi). Presumably either he is, or he isn’t and supports the aims of the organisation as an ally.

LangCleg · 23/10/2019 09:42

I will be happy to contribute to get this much-needed org up and running.
