I don't see how/why everyone is assuming "trans people are excluded" from the LGB Alliance.

Surely half the point of this is that so many teenage gay people are being transed, and LGBA wants to support them?

Trans people can be same-sex attracted (eg Miranda), and most "trans boys", etc, and they are welcome and will be supported with their sexual orientation and to be what they are, not transitioned and sterilised into what they are not.

It's more the straight male "lesbians" that don't fit with LGBA's aims.

But the rub is that trans people are all up in arms because, eg a transwoman attracted to women will self identify as "L" but will not be same-sex attracted, they're basically heterosexual, so not technically LGorB according to GC analysis.

Also, trans people who are homosexual, eg a transman attracted to women will self identify as straight, do wouldn't want to be part of an LGB only group.

I don't know where LGBAlliance stands regarding eg transwomen who have sex with transwomen and women only? Maybe they'd be under Bi?

So... presumably the LGBA is for all homosexuals and bisexuals (inclusive of trans people who fit that definition if they want to join); the rump T group can continue to support homogenderals, 'pan', whatever?

As I see it gay, lesbian and bi people have one fight to fight and trans people have another.
Lumping everyone together make things very confusing and send out a confused message.

I’ve been trying to take a break offline for a bit as I’m unable to be open about being GC right now and it gets exhausting. Since last night though my feeds are full of nasty messages against the ‘cishets’ and fringe weirdos who are obviously straight or hate LGBT people who have set up this new hate group.

And I just... how can people look at the history of the people speaking up and not think hmm what’s driven them to this point, maybe we should critically examine why this has happened. It’s like a sudden drop and you’re in bizarro world where lifelong activists are evil and the ‘good’ side issue rape and deaths threats to applause.

I’ll stand with my lesbian sisters every time. I may not feel able to risk my job and family but I can keep asking ‘dumb’ questions and innocently querying people spouting the ideology. I’ve seen cracks appearing. Thank you Mumsnet for keeping a portal of sanity open

We did say they would eventually go after the menz. Apparently @AllianceLGB is being shadowbanned which means the spoofs are more likely to show up in searches. It has over 5,000 followers already though, so the more people who can follow the real account & report the spoof ones the better!

Bloody hell, can't actually believe it's shadowbanned but when I tried to find it I got AllianceLGB_ (with underscore) which is a spoof account, which I reported for impersonating someone else.

You can still type the URL into your browser to find the genuine account.
