Update on the FB thing - lgb alliance only started showing up today when I searched, and I haven't changed any settings etc, so something weird was definitely going on there. But found it and joined it now!

Italian yy I mean obviously I'm complaining from behind a screen too but as you said we're not affecting anyone's career or livelihoods by discussing on MN. When it comes to RL issues, I use my own name eg on Twitter and in other comments section. Plus, when I've complained to the NSPCC; Girlguiding, etc, I've used my details.
The thing is the first response from Garden Court on Twitter was a standard holding response ie thanks for bringing it to our attention, we'll look into it. It's their statement in The Times that lurches to taking the complaints seriously and hanging Allison out to dry.

It's good that they managed to work out whatever the issue was with JustGiving without getting adversarial, yelling or foot stomping; they've really conducted themselves with dignity. Compare and contrast with Stonewall et al.

Agree Tirisfal. Simon Fanshawe, Allison Bailey et al didn't get where they are today by having tantrums on social media. They are doers and operators. I like that...

What happened there with the Met account reinforces my suspicion that at least some of the outrageous bollocks we've seen on social media in terms of immediately shutting down debate and demonizing GC people is the result of individual culty genderists going off piste and the parent organization either not noticing or thinking that calling attention to that after the fact would just create more problems. Seeing an org have the grownups come in, apologize, and indicate that the person playing silly buggers with their organization's social media accounts is being dealt with is a good sign. I don't think we'd have seen that even 6 months ago.

Using the LBG must include T logic, they shouldn't have an LGBT account at all. They must have one account that includes everyone.

They have one twitter account for all, or they are being biased and therefore discriminatory.

Unless, they set up separate ones to champion all groups. The largest one with high rates of targetting and abuse victims being women.

The MET are clearly being discriminatory putting one group above another with its 'special' extra efforts for them, against all others, including the support of pursuing vexatious complaints against women for speaking the truth.

When someone tells you something stupid, that doesn't break any laws, or constitute any crime, tell them so and get on with saving lives instead of further harrassing the already harassed.

Why do they insist on pursuing nonsense. I thought actual crimes needing solving and real perps being caught.

Speaking of Twitter accounts, it would be great to have as many MNers as possible following the LGBA. Their handle is @AllianceLGB. Don’t depend on finding it using Twitter search - they’re shadowbanned & spoof accounts come up instead.

It's pretty awesome that they can click their fingers and a year's salary lands in a couple of days. Despite all sorts of blocks on their Twitter and other activities showing up in searches. Really shows the weight of fed up people here. All small contributions too. At least this one they can hardly attribute to the Christian right!
