Great article in the Mail on Sunday today about the awful impacts on girls of being forced to share loos with boys at school. With quotes from a female GP about the health and psychological impacts of girls not having single-sex loos, Stephanie Davies-Arai from Transgender Trend, and David Davies MP

All anti-bullying measures can be applied to single sex toilets.

The local joint campus high school here does just that, and do bear in mind being a joint campus they are concerned with the additional factor of sectarian bigotry.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 06/10/2019 12:25

The reason people are derailing is that there is no good argument in favor of mixed sex toilets. Nobody wants them other than a handful of frankly deranged activists and their spineless enablers.

TequilaPilates · 06/10/2019 12:25

Is there some sort of not reading linked articles religious belief that I was previously unaware of?

I've read the article. I can't see anywhere where it says that schools are re designating single sex, multi cubicle toilets into mixed sex toilets.

It cites 1 primary school with gaps at the top and bottom of the cubicles, which is clearly a bad design, but even that doesn't say the layout of the toilets.

Clearly, I'm missing the part in the article where it describes the layout of all of these toilets though so perhaps you could post it here so that I can read it.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 06/10/2019 12:27

So even on your limited scan you noticed that the toilets referenced aren't the design that you're claiming is the only one being implemented. See why nobody is taking you seriously?

TequilaPilates · 06/10/2019 12:28

Rufus this is what she said

Girls do not behave in this way on the whole. I think that this is a gross exaggeration.

What was she saying?

I think that girls bullying other students is a significant issue.

dratalanta · 06/10/2019 12:29

The idea that mixed-sex lavatory areas will significantly reduce bullying of girls by other girls is ridiculous. I was bullied at school by other girls every day for nine years, and not once was I bullied in the loos.

Female bullying is usually about elevating the bully's status within the group, and therefore is generally conducted in public (or online), where the rest of the class can see it. www.bbc.com/future/story/20190913-why-some-children-become-merciless-bullies

A) I read the full article
B) nowhere does it describe redesignating single sex toilets as you claim
C) it's 1 school that it mentions - I know of 3 designed as I describe.

Do you see why I think that you have another motive?

Baguetteaboutit · 06/10/2019 12:31

This is a masterclass in how to derail a thread.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 06/10/2019 12:33

So, again, there is a school that has not implemented the design that you described earlier, which means that you were either incorrect or lying when you claimed that was the only design being implemented.

We can do this all day (or you can, I'm getting bored) and people reading along will still be able to tell that you're not arguing in good faith and will wonder why you keep trying to shift attention away from the actual problem.

woodhill · 06/10/2019 12:37

I'm so sick of it too. Why can't the schools make a separate gender neutral toilet without it affecting the different sex toilets already there.

I understand the schools are short of money but let the government or lobbyists pay for this.

I support unreservedly single sex toilets. But with the encroachment of Mermaids and Stonewall in our schools peddling untruths about twaw etc and self-id, then ensuring that toilets are single sex is farcical if anyone can use them simply by 'identifying'.
And when we discuss adult single sex and self-id it is totally about validating the trans 'feelings'. There is no-way any tra is going to use a third space - it is all about validation and power. And feelz.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 06/10/2019 12:42

Agreed Woodhill. All schools should have one or more mixed sex toilets to stop themselves being bullied by trans lobby groups who often get involved where a child experiments with transitioning.
The rest of the school can then carry on with safe sex segregated facilities - and if there is an issue with bullying in those facilities, then the adults must fix that. Children are not there to enable and validate other children with their beliefs,

Ereshkigal · 06/10/2019 12:42

The only way to foil a derail is to ignore it.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 06/10/2019 12:45

This is why the powers that be need to stop being spineless cowards and say 'no' to trans privilege activists. No, you cannot use toilets, changing rooms, whatever for anything other than the sex you were determined at conception and observed at birth.

The Equality Act needs to be beefed up and strictly applied on this point.

TequilaPilates · 06/10/2019 12:45

I have nowhere said it's the only design being implemented. I said it's the only design that I know of.

You bang on about me misrepresenting etc but are perfectly happy to do it yourself.

There is no.point to these threads at all. You don't want a discussion. You want a soap box from which to say your piece and then have like minded supporters slap you on the back.

Have all single sex toilets in school. Keep them as they always were. Then maybe explain how you'll make them safe for all students to use. How you'll prevent the bullying that goes on in them that stops girls from going in there to change pads because older girls take the piss out of them and take photos over doors, or stop them from using the toilet so that girls develop utis.

How will you explain this when you can't blame mixed sex toilets or the presence of boys?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 06/10/2019 12:45

Yep! So, again, mixed sex toilets are unsafe, an insult to the dignity and privacy of the people using them, and disliked by both children and parents. Who can the parents complain to in order to more efficiently have them changed back to the single sex toilets that students are legally entitled to?

woodhill · 06/10/2019 12:46

And I do get it about the bullying in the toilets- single sex.

TequilaPilates · 06/10/2019 12:47

Just in case anyone missed this rather obvious slip from Tequila.

No prodigal you're wrong. To say it's a slip up means that I didn't intend to say it. I meant it.

woodhill · 06/10/2019 12:47

This trans trumps everything else thing is terrifying

TequilaPilates · 06/10/2019 12:48

The school governors.

I couldn't agree more - and the GRA needs to be repealed. Pretty useless using enforcing the EA when a false truth can be created with the GRA.
This all makes me feel so fucking angry.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 06/10/2019 12:50

It really is. I think the politicos know that most of the public don't want it too, so why are they so determined to push it through anyway? Would be easier to fight back if we could figure that out.

RoseQuartzGlow · 06/10/2019 12:52

Parents have to protest vociferously. Campaign, protest, write to the Bowrd of Governors.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 06/10/2019 13:01

It is terrifying. As are those who see feminists being pro girls and women as "anti trans". It's simply designed to silence women - something that's been happening for centuries.
