Doing a bit of digging and it seems there has been some bad reaction from within the community so it's a bit of an own goal for RM.

I know RM has written the book on not needing to know what you're talking about but this seems a bit extreme.

I hope Rachel isn't marketing that book to, say, air traffic controllers, or surgeons.

Oddly enough, I doubt the wisdom of this self-proclaimed 'public intellectual' has much traction outside of academic philosophy departments... and I'd guess not that much within those either.
I'd be curious to know if the 3 reviewers had any idea who RM is.
