Not having sex with someone because they don't have the right genitals is transphobic. No prizes for guessing who's claiming this

RM is busy trying to justify their support for a particularly unpleasant tweet yesterday. For those of you who are blocked, I'll add some grabs.

lol @ that tweet.

ThatCurlyGirl · 01/10/2019 16:24

Wait so is gay black woman racist if she doesn't want to have sex with me, a bisexual white woman?

For fucks sake RM, if your argument is that we must be able to live by our own truths and not be frightened of judgement because our genitals and sexual identity are ours and ours alone to decide then why the fuck are you judging people (eg calling them transphobic) on how they use their genitals and how they perceive their sexual identity.

"Because transphobia" does not make people's requests for you to explain yourself null and void.

Spoiler alert - most people don't want to sleep with people who don't want to sleep with them. That's kind of how the whole consenting sex thing works.

RM you are doing the most damage to the hard work of brave trans people before you who have fought to gain acceptance and understanding. You do not speak for them. You make their life harder.

ThatCurlyGirl · 01/10/2019 16:28

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz

Curly you can literally hear the sound of hundreds of MNers bashing their heads off tables at the stupidity of it, can't you?

You probably heard mine even if you're on the other side of the world!!

RM is either so idiotic they can't follow their own argument with critical thinking or such a misogynist bully they don't give a shit about women at all.

Why would you want to be a woman when you hate them so much?!

I've just said this in another posts but I think it warrants repeating - most people don't want to have sex with people who don't want to sleep with them. RM says transphobia, I say "consent".

Honestly some days I'm really fucking pissed off and others I almost can't be arsed to state the obvious. Then RM pops up and pissed me off just enough again that I can't help myself.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 01/10/2019 16:34

I’m not bashing my head but throwing it back and guffawing loudly. Which must be a bit of a surprise to rest of the audience but hey, the presentation had a couple of jokes in it...

ThatCurlyGirl · 01/10/2019 16:43

Ha @LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD that's probably a more therapeutic way of dealing with the ridiculousness.

It's got to the stage now where I wouldn't be surprised if RM didn't want a few measly women to push RM's bike around the course in future races. Why should RM have to do it?! You transphobes!

ErrolTheDragon · 01/10/2019 16:45

Am I alone in finding the tweet in the screenshot after the 'everything except pan is immoral one' completely incomprehensible? I mean, I know RM is supposed to be a philosopher and 'public intellectual' but that doesn't mean you have to write things which can't be understood by normal people does it?

Oh well. Maybe it's ok in RMS book to be a theoretical pansexual, but in practice choosing individuals mysteriously always end up with particular category(s) as partners. Or no partners, or just the one.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 01/10/2019 16:47

The thing is, though, isn't Rachel's position is in fact the completely logical end point of trans ideology?

If Transwomen are women and Transmen are men, and genitals are immaterial interchangeable appendages that bear no relation to one's chosen gender, then really nobody who has been cleansed of 'transphobia' should have any kind of preference for either sex or any gender. Or am I missing something?

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 01/10/2019 16:48

The thing is, though, isn't Rachel's position is in fact the completely logical end point of trans ideology?

Yes.

littlbrowndog · 01/10/2019 16:51

So we just have to shag whoever or whatever and not have any preference on their genitals.

Otherwise transphobic.

Lol 👌

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 01/10/2019 16:52

So sexy isn’t anything to do with genitals. Not even a teensy bit?

LangCleg · 01/10/2019 17:01

Adrian! You have failed the cunnilingus challenge! Go and stand in the corner with Owen. And don't come back until you've thought really, really hard about what you've done.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 01/10/2019 17:03

I think he should just delete all his tweets and sit on the naughty step to consider his transgression.

birdsdestiny · 01/10/2019 17:08

First they came for the women.
And where the fuck were you then adrian?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 01/10/2019 17:12

That’s the thing though isn’t it. They always turn on their familiars. You only have to watch any vampire movie...

RueCambon · 01/10/2019 17:21

Im 49 and i fancy men of about 35 the most.

But they dont reciprocate so as a woman, i just bloody accept that

Are the hot men in their 30s who have their shit together being agephobic? Can i force liam henswoth or chris pine to have a relationship with me?!

AryaStarkWolf · 01/10/2019 17:23

Wrong Hemsworth and wrong Chris Grin

Ereshkigal · 01/10/2019 17:56

The thing is, though, isn't Rachel's position is in fact the completely logical end point of trans ideology?

Indeed it is. Just like Rachel's position on trans inclusion in female sports is that any testosterone reduction rules at all are transphobic, which is the logical endpoint to including males in the female category for their gender identity.

NotTerfNorCis · 01/10/2019 18:14

McKinnon's position was standard in trans ideology. Probably still is. It's just that a few are back peddling now because they've realised how it makes them look.

CatalogueUniverse · 01/10/2019 18:15

Hang on.

Genital preference is transphobic.

Is it transphobic only when considering other people’s genitals?
Or does it mean
Genital preference for your own genitalia’s appearance is internalised transphobia?

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 01/10/2019 18:26

Scrimshaw that tweet is MN gold. Can you start your own topic with it?

Not a thread. I want that tweet and the one where he says he won't do vagina to have their own topic. Grin

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 01/10/2019 18:28

It's just that a few are back peddling now because they've realised how it makes them look.

I think shit got real and now some of the allies are worried that they might be required to find out what is in those cycling shorts.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 01/10/2019 18:36

It would actually be easier and quicker (though less comical) to have a list of things/behaviours that aren't transphobic.

DuMondeB · 01/10/2019 18:43

It’s not every day that a boring old heterosexual married person like me is described as ‘immoral’ due to my sexual preference.

I shall revel in it. Surely all the most exciting sex is immoral?

birdsdestiny · 01/10/2019 18:54

You are5 the thing is people can be not attracted to another person for any reason they like. The alternative is too horrific to think about.
Robert Downey Jr, the selfish prick, doesn't want to shag me for the ridiculous reason that he doesn't know I exist.
