Not having sex with someone because they don't have the right genitals is transphobic. No prizes for guessing who's claiming this

RM is busy trying to justify their support for a particularly unpleasant tweet yesterday. For those of you who are blocked, I'll add some grabs.

Indeed.

Ereshkigal · 01/10/2019 10:24

I remember seeing in the breakdown of participants in the original study that only 9% of lesbians were prepared to date an MTF trans person, so it appears the woke ones are mostly lying or disproportionately over represented on social media.

Ereshkigal · 01/10/2019 10:26

I think more were prepared to date an FTM, unsurprisingly to most but surprising to the genderist researchers.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 01/10/2019 10:28

"Lesbians OK with dating female humans who wear trousers and have short hair" shocker.

DuMondeB · 01/10/2019 10:40

How the ever loving fuck are we supposed to raise happy and confident young lesbians and gay men, with shitty ideas like this flying about?
Having an exclusive sexual orientation (not a mere ‘preference’, Rachel) is an ordinary, perfectly acceptable part of human existence.

Paris Lees is absolutely right (possibly for the first time ever).

Just stop, Rachel.

AryaStarkWolf · 01/10/2019 10:41

The general public have, largely accepted, that sexual orientation is something where one is just 'born this way'.

And now, all the organisations who have campaigned for decades are saying, nah, not really, only joking, it's all just a choice, haha got ya.

Exactly, I don't get how the "G" in LGBT seem to be so quiet on this, I know they're not the ones getting shouted at to sleep with Man vaginas but surely this stance is undoing everything they've tried for years to get people to understand, sexual orientation is not a choice? I just don't get how the "T" continue to get backing from the community when they seem to have a completely different stance

BeMoreMagdalen · 01/10/2019 10:44

You reduce your dating pool when you get married, too. But we don't tend to have any respect at all for people who whine about married people not sleeping with them, or married people whining that they only get to sleep with one person now.

No one suggests that a married man should work on his adulteriphobia. Grow the fuck up, you whinging, needy creep infested movement.

RoyalCorgi · 01/10/2019 10:47

True, but gay men don't seem to be receiving the flak for not wanting sex with women that lesbians are receiving for not wanting sex with men so perhaps they don't care.

StormcloakNord · 01/10/2019 10:51

What the fucking fuck is actually going on in the world.

Like actually what the fuck.

I like dick, and I like men.. why the fuck would I be transphobic to say no to someone who looked like a man but had a vagina? They can't stick their vagina in me which is the whole purpose, it's why I like DICK.

Urgh. Raging.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 01/10/2019 10:54

Gay men tend to be targeted with whinging rather than rage and threats of violence. And wouldn't take threats all that seriously coming from people they could hold off with one hand anyway.

What did Paris have to say about this? It does tend to be interesting that the TRAs who're a. gay and b. not class privileged tend to have a point beyond which they won't go. It's still not set in what I'd consider to be a reasonable place, but it's not set at "I just assume I can get away with whatever I want if I scream enough" the way it is with the straight, class privileged ones. The gay, working class ones know that if a backlash comes it will hit them first and their former mates in the academy and politics will do nothing to protect them.

DuMondeB · 01/10/2019 10:59

Gay men do care but it doesn’t affect their physical safety the way the same issues affect women. Transmen in gay saunas and on gay hook up apps are an annoyance, rather than a threat.

Gay men’s voices are ignored by queer/woke activists (much like women’s voices are) they are dismissed as having assimilated into cishet culture, gay marriage has made them part of the establishment (see democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg as an example: www.queerty.com/writer-questions-pete-buttigieg-gay-enough-first-gay-president-cue-outrage-20190329 )

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 01/10/2019 11:02

The thing I don't think most people realize is that a good chunk of the modern queer movement is actually straight people, who give about as many fucks about the needs and priorities of gay people of either sex as you'd expect.

Ereshkigal · 01/10/2019 11:08

Like Pink News reporting on Douglas Murray's interview about Sam Smith with Afua Hirsch (where she misgendered SS in amusing error) and neglecting to mention that DM was the only person in the room who wasn't straight.

Yes. Concur. Movement is as classist as it gets. Which, presumably, is why they use the black trans prostitute murder stats in a way that suits them while simultaneously extolling the virtues of sex work.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 01/10/2019 11:33

Prostitution is empowering! Except when you get murdered. Odd how that seems to happen a lot more often than in any other profession.

(Most dangerous job in the world, statistically speaking. But in an empowering way, obviously.)

LangCleg · 01/10/2019 11:37

Anyway. I'm rebranding MBE to Member of the Bellend Empire.

Any suggestions for the first cohort of recipients?

ErrolTheDragon · 01/10/2019 11:56

I was reading the thread newest first and for a moment thought I was on the Leeds one. Funny, that.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 01/10/2019 12:52

Responding from a couple of pages back in the thread, but yes, Errol that was a verbatim quote. Screenshot here for anyone who can't or doesn't want to see Rache's feed.

I agree with previous posters that this is a deliberate attempt to convince young, naive LGB people that this is what they need to go along with if they don’t want to be bigots. It’s up to us more mature, wiser people who see through this shit to let them know it’s coercive bullshit and it’s ok to say no.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 01/10/2019 13:00

Oh, Rachel is really going for it now. Sexual orientation is basically the same as racism.

Not having sex with someone because they don't have the right genitals is transphobic. No prizes for guessing who's claiming this
2BthatUnnoticed · 01/10/2019 13:02

Q. If you force yourself to have sex with the genitalia you don’t like for two years but still hate it - can you give up?

A. Nope.

Not having sex with someone because they don't have the right genitals is transphobic. No prizes for guessing who's claiming this
RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 01/10/2019 13:05

Rachel appears to be imploding

They are taking a stance that virtually no one will...and can agree with

TheChampagneGalop · 01/10/2019 13:06

What a manipulative rapey bastard.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 01/10/2019 13:10

You are not supposed to raise them to be anything other than a participant of Trans ideology.

2BthatUnnoticed · 01/10/2019 13:29

Ah Rach love (I heard you read this, which is cool) - please have a wee chat to your Mom or anyone else you love and trust.

Saying “pansexuality is the only moral choice” is no better than saying “heterosexuality is the only moral choice.”

Both statements implicitly judge and shame people whose sexuality is “wrong.” You sound just like the religious right.

[Also, please stop appropriating the pain of racism to prop up weak arguments, thanks]
