A man. A man who looks like a man, and identifies as a man,
isn't allowed in a women's changing room. How terribly transphobic and sexist. Read the comments and the way he ignores women's concerns, as even if 1 out of a 1000 men, (he kind of forgets who he is meant to be championing here) was bad you shouldn't be able to tar all of male kind with the same brush. one out of a thousand eh? Hmm.

It's all so thinly disguised isn't it?

Well done to the Primark staff who decided that a man demanding he be allowed in a changing room with a young girl, is the last man who should be allowed in.

Slightly off-topic FYI for anyone who hasn't come across it before, but using "cretin" as an insult really isn't very nice as it refers to somebody with physical and learning disabilities from congenital iodine deficiency.

whatwouldbigfatfannydo · 15/08/2019 15:11

@IMissGluten

I've never heard it in that context. Only used to referred to someone as stupid, similar to eejit. Might be a regional thing, but obviously unacceptable regardless now I know that. I won't use it again and will pass that info on to whoever I hear say it.

Yep I assumed the post earlier was an innocent usage… didn't imagine anyone here would be using it if they knew. I had a friend who was using "mong" until she found out what it meant and was mortified.

I just thought I'd mention it to save anyone unintended future trouble.

@bunslinger

I saw that after @IMissGluten brought it up and I looked into it more. Very glad to be aware of it now.

I seriously question whether the incident in Primark ever happened. What was his daughter doing while he was throwing a strop? If you had an obnoxious father like that, would you select clothes that needed to be buttoned up the back, or would you make damn sure you selected only clothes that didn't need to be tried on?

Nah, the whole thing is made up.

Solonelywastheballard · 15/08/2019 21:03

Also, I shop in primark alot and they don't really make clothes that you need help doing up.

The only stuff you need help with is tailored dresses, Primark don't sell stuff like that. Most Primark stuff is slip on or button.
