A man. A man who looks like a man, and identifies as a man,
isn't allowed in a women's changing room. How terribly transphobic and sexist. Read the comments and the way he ignores women's concerns, as even if 1 out of a 1000 men, (he kind of forgets who he is meant to be championing here) was bad you shouldn't be able to tar all of male kind with the same brush. one out of a thousand eh? Hmm.

It's all so thinly disguised isn't it?

Well done to the Primark staff who decided that a man demanding he be allowed in a changing room with a young girl, is the last man who should be allowed in.

Robert has predictably misogynistic views on sport too: "if women need a special event because of the genetic disadvantages that handicap them, perhaps that should be in the Paralympics

Actual jaw drop at this one.

Juells · 15/08/2019 09:43

But he's also a lovely man, very kind.

You can tell that. He wants equality for all. He's quite Christian, the way he can separate out the sin from the sinner, and direct love towards the sinner. Jesus-like, really.

I felt so sorry for that poor old grandpa in the comments, who broke down in tears a few days after the traumatic experience of being denied entry to the dressing room with the little girl dancers. Only beginning the journey to womanhood, only wanted to help, and had to deal with such rejection.

Datun · 15/08/2019 09:45

Also Robert, why do you dismiss those comments suggesting a third, family changing room?

Don't meet the entry requirements?

Juells · 15/08/2019 09:50

That isn't fair on the Paralympics, if women were forced into that then it would be mobbed by TRAs insisting on their right to join in as well.

GlitchStitch · 15/08/2019 09:50

Come on now, where is the fun in being alone in a family changing room with an imaginary daughter? Cut the guy some slack, he's only asking to be around other people's real kids. Is that too much to hope for?

SD1978 · 15/08/2019 09:57

So it's ok for him to enter a female change room (in his opinion) why didn't he use the male ones? Why is it not ok for his daughter to be I. A curtained male change room- but it should be ok for him to be in a similar female area? Hypocritical, and the usual misogynistic it's all about me shit.

Solonelywastheballard · 15/08/2019 10:15

The more of the articles I read the more of a complete universal prick i think he is. I feel so sorry for his daughter.

Juells · 15/08/2019 10:20

I feel so sorry for his daughter.

Why so? Don't all teenage girls dream of having their fathers force their way into communal dressing rooms to help them do up buttons and zips?

ScrimshawTheSecond · 15/08/2019 10:26

I sense someone is not happy about women exercising their freedom of speech. Sorry, Robert. Think of it as a 'thought experiment'.

JellySlice · 15/08/2019 10:29

Some of the clothes she wanted to try on were fastened at the back and she would probably need my assistance in the fitting room to fasten the clothes and get them adjusted properly.

How would she cope at home? How does any woman cope with getting dressed? How will she cope with her bra - does he think he will be helping her get dressed every morning until he hands her over to a husband?

How many men's garments fasten at the back? At anywhere other than the front? FGS they do up aprons at the front! Can they even conceive of the actual practicalities of a woman's life?

Creepy. Or maybe I should just leave off the 'y'.

Datun · 15/08/2019 10:32

ScrimshawTheSecond

Oh dear, that's just embarrassing. I think he must be a teenager.

Wow, someone actually went to the trouble of making that video and uploading it, to make the point that women are stoopid. And people thought it was hilarious.

Too much time on his hands.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 15/08/2019 10:44

Yes, it smacks of a teenager overestimating his own capabilities.

RoyalCorgi · 15/08/2019 10:48

So is the whole Primark story a "thought experiment"? ie it didn't happen, but he's imagining what might have happened in the scenario he's invented?

If it really did happen (presumably in Gravesend or Hastings, as these are the two Primark stores in the UK that have unisex changing - if Robert is in the UK, that is), then I agree with the poster who says the most likely reason is that he was giving off such creepy vibes that the staff didn't want to let him into the changing room.

Datun · 15/08/2019 10:55

He admits that he was escorted out by security.

🤣

Juells · 15/08/2019 10:56

giving off such creepy vibes that the staff didn't want to let him into the changing room.

The same thing applies to the sobbing grandfather in the comments. How happy would any parent be to see an elderly gent who is 'just starting to transition' (what does that mean?) arguing to gain entry to children's dressing rooms? Refusing to take no for an answer to such an extent that the responsible people finally give in but feel it necessary to accompany them around?

Entitled tantrumming fucks.

GirlDownUnder · 15/08/2019 10:58

Oh, this thread just got better! Grin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/08/2019 11:00

But then which shop assistant gets paid enough to challenge a ‘creepy guy’ on entering a changing room? How many would want to risk getting yelled at/threatened (‘I’ll have your job’ etc) by some ‘creepy guy’. Maybe they don’t give a monkeys if some random man is on the ladies with half naked little girls?

Stamp it out. Make the single-sexrule stick.

I was in a unisex loo yesterday (was desperate for a wee). 2 cubicles (and a disabled cubicle) with full doors and the sink in the main area. Loos are off a dark staircase at the back of the store so no passing footfall. It was in a very fancy store but I didn’t feel particularly comfortable. No Sandpro bin that I could see.

Men were wandering in and out - and every bloody one walked straight past the queue of women waiting to push at the closed cubicle doors before turning round, scowling at the queue and stomping off to use the disabled cubicle.

Nope, I don’t want men in such an enclosed space. If I’d been alone I would have felt unsafe. It would be very very easy for a woman to be assaulted in there.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 15/08/2019 11:08

Grin oh he is both very angry AND very creepy.

Please stay out of women's spaces. You utter weirdo.

But also thanks for proving us mean nasty women right all along. Creep.

Fraggling · 15/08/2019 11:13

Just catching up and very excited to see we have the man himself here!

Got as far as this

'I've been called a 'twerp' ' and literally burst out laughing... A twerp! Good lord that really is very strong language 😂😂😂

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 15/08/2019 11:24

I'm actually a very kind person - and I don't deserve this sort of incredibly nasty treatment.

Ah yes, it's a common trait amongst certain groups of men to expect cookies/praise for the absolute bare minimum of human decency.

What I do do is to write thought-exercises intended to expose people's bigotry and prejudice. And, as this thread clearly demonstrates, I'm extremely good at it.

Oh indeed, all I could think of whilst reading your post was Margaret Atwood's quote: 'Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them'.

Juells · 15/08/2019 11:58

It's very unfair when righteous warriors, fighting for the right of all men to have access to all women and girls at all times, are viewed as creepy fucks by the unenlightened.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 15/08/2019 12:03

'Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them'.

Depressing how often this is proved accurate.

Would love for this cretin to explain the credentials he possesses that trump Martina Navratilova's expertise on the subject?

Oh, that's easy - Bob has a penis and Martina does not so therefore Bob knows MORE about ANY given subject than Martina does.

Men are better - woman know your place!

(Sarcasm, obviously).
