I have never heard a woman use the phrase 'having a wizz'. Just saying.

FermatsTheorem · 11/07/2019 20:56

Ok, so by that logic, why do we ever separate the sexes, Petrol?

Oh, oh, oh, I know the answer to that one miss, yes I do!

It's because transwomen might be attacked if they had to share spaces with those nasty men. But women's spaces are magically safe, even when inhabited by transwomen and by men pretending to be transwomen (bonus points for an answer to how I tell the difference...)

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 11/07/2019 20:56

You're a man

A man thought you were a man

Evil manhating....errr man

Chickenwing · 11/07/2019 20:57

Honestly? Google the definition of feminism. Equality between the sexes.

Try and put yourselves in the shoes for someone who struggles with gender identity. Where is their space? Why cant we try and be more understanding of all people and treat them with EQUALITY.

Stopping someone who is transgender from entering a toilet is not protecting anyone, a person with bad intentions (of any gender) will not give a shit about the sign on a toilet if they are going in to rape someone.

PetrolBastard · 11/07/2019 20:58

Well, now you have, so you can tick that off your bucket list. What an exciting day for you this is!

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 11/07/2019 20:58

but how are Jane Fae, Paris Lees or Shon Faye women PetrolBastard ?

is it 'cos (some of them) are purty?

is it because they think like women?

is it because they enjoy being submissive?

help me out here. you're really sure. I'm trying to understand why

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 11/07/2019 20:59

I googled

It said

the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes

Thats not quite the same

TurboTeddy · 11/07/2019 20:59

I know I'm a woman because every single fucking day at least one man will give his unsolicited advice or opinion on some aspect of my existence and expect me to be grateful they've taken the time out of their busy schedule to do so.

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2019 21:02

Why cant we try and be more understanding of all people and treat them with EQUALITY.

Go and preach to transactivists who have not the slightest respect for women how you wish everyone would just get along.

I'll repeat my question to you, since PetrolBastard dodged it:

What makes them "women"? The mere act of them saying they are? I don't believe you are so obtuse that you can't conceive that there might be problems with that approach, whether or not you give a fuck what happens to women like Karen White's victims.

SophoclesTheFox · 11/07/2019 21:02

Back to first principles, chicken and petrol. Chesterton’s fence, if you like.

Why do we ever separate the sexes, in your opinion? Think about sports, hospital wards, prisons, changing rooms etc.

What are the reasons that we do that?

What is it that you think has suddenly changes that renders those reasons unnecessary?

TurboTeddy · 11/07/2019 21:02

Equality is about fairness not treating everyone as if they are the same.

PetrolBastard · 11/07/2019 21:03

Again, I'm not sure how I'm not being clear enough on this point. What is the difference? Listen this time -

I don't give a shit

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2019 21:05

Don't expect us to give a shit what you think either. It's quite clear you don't give a shit about women's rights. What was your point, other than to virtue signal then when called out on your flimsy position repeat "I don't give a shit", over and over like a 15 year old?

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2019 21:06

PS Women still don't have penises.

FermatsTheorem · 11/07/2019 21:08

We know you don't give a shit, Petrol, that's evident in every post you make.

You don't give a shit about other women. Which is fine and dandy - there's always been "I'm alright Jack" types, and "Do it to Julia" types.

But I would imagine it is quite informative for the lurkers to watch you serially dodging the question and asserting that you don't give a shit. You're giving a certain impression of the transactivist position and the motives underlying it, and, dare I say it, I suspect it's not a particularly positive one.

PetrolBastard · 11/07/2019 21:08

That is my point. I don't care. No amount of penis would induce me to treat another human being like a piece of crap and go around service stations putting stickers up. Is that clear enough? Or do I have to act like a fifteen year old again and repeat myself?

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 11/07/2019 21:09

I kind of almost admire the single mindedness, in the same way that I kind of do with fundamentalists of every religious stripe. At least it’s consistent. You end up being a terrible human, but there’s a logic about it (of a sort).

Yes I do as well. The twisting and flailing of progressive religions to mangle their religious texts to say what they want is amusing, but the proper die hard Westboro Baptist types who just straight up own being outrageous twats are a different kind of fascinating.

I know I'm a woman because my medical school made it impossible (in practical terms) for me to return to my course after I became pregnant half way through. And my student peers asked why I'd even want to since I had a family now. And my father said how wonderful it was that I'd finally "given up that nonsense" and made him a grandfather.

I know I'm a woman because when I had a third degree tear after childbirth, and I asked the male anaesthetist for some pain relief, he rolled his eyes and said he "didn't see why" and the midwife had to talk him into it.

But yeh, please keep telling women how our biology isn't relevant and that not wanting the human rights of female prisoners to be violated by being trapped with rapists is "shitting on feminism".

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2019 21:09

You're giving a certain impression of the transactivist position and the motives underlying it, and, dare I say it, I suspect it's not a particularly positive one.

Yep.

FermatsTheorem · 11/07/2019 21:09

Still not seeing the connection between stating a biological fact (women don't have penises) and treating someone like crap.

Grimbles · 11/07/2019 21:09

How can we tell the difference between a transwoman and a dirty old pervert who says he is trans just so he can, for example, get his jollies flashing his knob at young girls in changing rooms?

Yeahyeahyeahyeeeeah · 11/07/2019 21:10

I’m always confused as to why, if you’re a trans woman, you wouldn’t get rid of the dick? Is there anything that says bloke, man, Mr, more than a dick? Get it chopped off, go to where the fuck you like.

Chickenish · 11/07/2019 21:12

Killing myself at the idea that google never gets anything wrong 🤣

PetrolBastard · 11/07/2019 21:12

I'm confused as to why you invest so much time and energy into thinking about other people's genitals.

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2019 21:14

No amount of penis would induce me to treat another human being like a piece of crap and go around service stations putting stickers up. Is that clear enough?

No, again not really. You seem to have a problem clarifying your positions. How is asserting that women are a biological sex class with certain specific features to challenge a misogynistic ideology one doesn't believe in "treating another human being like a piece of crap"? How about considering that people chanting your fucking stupid untrue Orwellian mantra that these male people are women because they say so m is treating me and many women like crap? And all the other things that you True Believers do.

Ereshkigal · 11/07/2019 21:15

I'm confused as to why you invest so much time and energy into thinking about other people's genitals.

I'm sure you're confused about a lot of things. You seem quite invested in this thread yourself.
