Why do you need to know what is in someone's underwear when they use the same bathroom as you? In what circumstances would you even be looking?

There is no need to know what is in someone's underwear. No-one needs to look. We always know who these men are. And the law gives us women the legal right to have such men removed from each and every one of our single sex spaces, services etc.

Grimbles · 12/07/2019 17:19

So where would the hypothetical wheelchair user go to the loo in this hypothetical pub?

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 17:20

Both the men's and women's toilets have disabled access in this scenario.

AlwaysComingHome · 12/07/2019 17:21

Anyone who wishes to share facilities with someone consents to share facilities with them should be legally entitled to do so.

For those of us who don’t wish to share, we should keep the bathrooms already extant as that is what they were built for.

These facilities are a necessity. If you want to share facilities that is a luxury, not a need. You should pay for those facilities yourself.

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 17:22

Again, you're denying the existence of the legion of people who pass. Very convenient for your argument, but not factually accurate.

Ereshkigal · 12/07/2019 17:22

I CBA to explain to this person why pointing out that the "most people" they claimed would think some TW who superficially appear female should use female toilets would in fact object to the presence of a penis in a female space is not, and in fact very far from, "wanting to look in people's underwear".

Anyone else be my guest.

Grimbles · 12/07/2019 17:23

So disabled access toilets have now magically appeared in this hypothetical pub? Could they not have put in a separate self contained loo instead?

Still the mens though.

Ereshkigal · 12/07/2019 17:25

Why not eradicate gender dysphoria completely in this hypothetical world? Or make the people be actually born into the sex they want to be? Or have special hovering trans toilets outside powered by unicorn breath?

JackyHolyoake · 12/07/2019 17:25

Again, you're denying the existence of the legion of people who pass.

I think you'll find that not one of them passes as far as women are concerned. If you were a woman you would know this.

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 17:25

No, there isn't room. This pub is in a listed building and they won't get approval for an expansion.

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 12/07/2019 17:26

Well this has been fun but I'm done feeding this one. I'm off to have some fun with my sharpie Wink

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 17:26

I am a woman and I know of trans people who pass as a woman. So there's that out of the window.

Ereshkigal · 12/07/2019 17:26

I'd get rid of planning laws. And the listed building system. There, problem solved.

AlwaysComingHome · 12/07/2019 17:27

This ‘looking in people’s underwear’ argument is just a variation on the ‘why are people opposed to the medical transition of children so obsessed with little boy’s willies?’

And no, most transwomen don’t pass. Just because women are too polite or afraid to say something doesn’t mean they don’t know.

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 17:29

Well you are certainly not allowed to change planning laws.

There are tons of places in the UK that literally don't have the space to have three types of toilet. It's not going to solve it.

JackyHolyoake · 12/07/2019 17:29

I'd get rid of planning laws. And the listed building system. There, problem solved.

No need for that, a separate building can be constructed with a covered walkway for access if need be. Wink

AlwaysComingHome · 12/07/2019 17:29

I am a woman and I know of trans people who pass as a woman. So there's that out of the window.

If they pass how do you know they are trans?

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 17:30

I know because they told me. I wouldn't have known otherwise.

AlwaysComingHome · 12/07/2019 17:31

There are tons of places in the UK that literally don't have the space to have three types of toilet. It's not going to solve it.

Then just accept your desire to share a bathroom will go unfulfilled.

JackyHolyoake · 12/07/2019 17:35

Give it up now, Petrol. UK law is against the position you present.

Women have the legal right to eject any male regardless of how he presents himself, from any of our single sex services / spaces etc.

And be assured, we do and will continue to do this.

Grimbles · 12/07/2019 17:35

Anyway, why the fuck is it (once again) down to women to try and come up with solutions?

If a trans person doesn't want to use the mens then that's not our problem to solve

PerrysWinkle · 12/07/2019 17:35

JUst picked up this thread again and amazed that we’re now discussing planning laws in fictional listed buildings.
Why is it up to women to solve the problems of the trans community? Lobby the men. Ask them to stop rejecting feminine men. Get them to sort out a third toilet in all new buildings, after all, they are still statistically going to hold positions of power. This is a problem for men to fix, not us.

PerrysWinkle · 12/07/2019 17:36

X post with Grimbles Grin

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 17:38

I don't think you understand the law. There is no legislation that means you have whomever you please removed from someone else's private property. You may be able to get the landowner on board with having their permission to be on site removed, but there is no crime of 'being a man in a women's toilet'
