This short film with Mhairi reading out (mostly respectful) comments from women is really sad. I have always admired her but like many politicians she is unable to comprehend the issues women are raising. She says there is no evidence or legitimacy in our concerns. Oh well.

I'm very out on my opinions in RL now and people largely agree to my face but with absolutely no horror like I feel and I struggle to understand that

It's the sheer scale of the problem. And the fact that it doesn't affect a lot of people. Until it does.

And I realise that sounds like a bit of a contradiction.

But until you see how it's all connected, the enormity isn't apparent. The misogyny of the ideology, the regulatory capture, the Trojan horse tactics of attaching to LGB, transing children, the brainwashing of schools, etc.

Once you become informed, the horror isn't far behind.

Flowers for that slap in the face video Basdan. You're not alone.

There's been a response posted on the Wings Over Scotland website.

Why don’t Chickenwing and Mhairi Black hop in the car together, drive to Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy, sit down with the two children who were sexually assaulted by Katie Dolatowski in toilets, and tell those 10-12 year old girls what bigots they are for not wanting a male to pee next to them.

This.

LangCleg · 05/07/2019 08:52

Yes, completely agree, Datun.

It's also like any safeguarding scandal: people don't want to know because the truth is so unpalatable. So they will turn away from finding out until there's no other choice. Then the shame and guilt at having turned away makes them get their pitchforks out.

The backlash to this is going to be grim. And people like Mhairi will just move on to the next virtue signalling cause. They will never take responsibility.

Elletorro · 05/07/2019 09:23

She’s so badly informed about women’s rights. The ease and lack of safeguarding in the proposed GRC will make it in turn easier to justify using the sex exemptions in EA2010.

But it will mean women will have to sue some government institutions to make that happen. So we will spend time and money just to stand still.

NotBadConsidering · 05/07/2019 09:27

Don’t forget this bit Eresh:

Alternatively, they can both fuck off. Wink

I really want an answer though. Black will happily laugh and joke on a video on Twitter, but does she have the guts to stand in front of victims and say what she truly believes? To wear that t-shirt in the living room of a child who has been sexually assaulted by a trans woman? To tell that child that she will be doing her best to make sure legislation passes meaning there is a risk it could happen again?

Come on Mhairi you coward: go and tell those two children what you really think. Go and tell them their experiences don’t count for anything.

The comments under the Wings over Scotland piece are depressing. Mostly from men, seems they can't give a flying fig about the issue raised but just bang on about independence Angry

LangCleg · 05/07/2019 09:32

Yes, Mhairi. Pop into prison and explain this to the incarcerated victims of Karen White. Invite the parents and child victims of Katie Dolatowski to your surgery and do it to them.

LangCleg · 05/07/2019 09:33

It's all very after the revolution, love. Plus ca change.

They'll soon change their minds if it penetrates that enough women will not comply and indy is at risk.

NotBadConsidering · 05/07/2019 09:35

It should also be noted that Dolatowski is in the community right now, has failed to attend appointments, was placed in a female only hostel and has been deleting internet chat history.

DonkeyHohtay · 05/07/2019 09:46

Urgh I feel so dirty. I agree with Wings over Scotland. Yuk.

Kilbranan · 05/07/2019 09:56

I’m glad wings have picked this up. Comments not too bad, lots agreeing with wings that snp are going to alienate a lot of people if they continue with GRA reform /self id

frazzled1 · 05/07/2019 10:05

She says in the longer video T**f is just a word for radical feminists who want to exclude 'trans people'.

Nope Mhairi, I want to exclude bodies of the male sex from female (ie sex segregated) spaces. So excluding males, including transwomen, on the basis of their sexed bodies. Transmen are female bodied so not excluded.

Sigh. Seems like we have to repeat this endlessly. No hate. No denial of anyone's human rights. For girls and women, not against anyone. But nice try, conflating the issue with excluding trans people Hmm.

Alsohuman · 05/07/2019 10:17

So very sorry see someone I’ve always admired letting herself down like this.

OldCrone · 05/07/2019 10:39

But until you see how it's all connected, the enormity isn't apparent. The misogyny of the ideology, the regulatory capture, the Trojan horse tactics of attaching to LGB, transing children, the brainwashing of schools, etc.

And it's worrying that with the recruitment of children to this ideology, by the time enough people wake up, it will be unstoppable. Getting into schools to brainwash children is a key part of this. Children are being taught that they can change sex and actually believing it (because trusted adults in schools are telling them this).

Only a minority of children will believe they are transgender, but there will be enough to mean that everyone else has to go along with the ideology to some extent because they don't want to be unkind to these vulnerable children. We're already seeing this start to happen.

MrsJamin · 05/07/2019 12:06

What's really strange is now that TRAs are getting 'what they want' - for the World Health Organization to remove "gender identity disorder" from list of mental illnesses, there will be a lack of medical funding for people who want to have medical intervention. There'll have to be crowd-sourcing for meds and surgery to 'become who they really are'. Its such an own-goal.

Melroses · 05/07/2019 12:06

It is worrying that those children who do not believe themselves to be transgender will be all aboard, not having to think too deeply about what it means, and readily believe that other children can change sex.

These leaves no support for those vulnerable children caught up in this ideology when it proves to have been the wrong route for them.

AnotherLass · 05/07/2019 12:19

"for the World Health Organization to remove "gender identity disorder" from list of mental illnesses, there will be a lack of medical funding for people who want to have medical intervention."

I'm not sure that is true. They have renamed it "gender incongruence" which is listed as a "sexual health" condition. The TRAs want it to be a physical disorder - literally, your body being wrong, rather than a mental one. They don't want it to be no disorder at all

DramaRamaLlama · 05/07/2019 12:26

@Chickenwing

As posters have told you self ID means a man doesn't have to do anything to be considered a female.

Some posters have explained in great detail the issues. I'm genuinely interested, having read those comments, whether you feel more resolute in your position or can see why women might be concerned.

Would love to hear your thoughts

She knew exactly what she was saying re her 'Don't be a Jeremy Hunt'

Hopefully she will never be instrumental in foreign policy when it comes to young girls/education/single sex toilets. Or perhaps she feels the United Nations is just a bunch of Jeremy Hunts.

I've seen this mentioned before. This would make the feeling that one's body is wrong a physical condition, requiring no psychiatric treatment whatsoever, but requiring treatment instead to make the body what it 'should be'.

Why is anyone going along with this? Have they lost their minds?

placemats · 05/07/2019 12:47

Sorry Unesco not United Nations. Thought I'd already corrected that!

Angryresister · 05/07/2019 12:47

Why is Mhairi not talking about males needing to be more inclusive of TW I wonder? On one level she is acknowledging the need for privacy while denying that women should have ours. It's not about being kind . The violence is only coming from TRAs...and Mhairi is ignoring the evidence that she says she has seen. The T has not always been a part of the LGB , so younger women need to look to their history before assuming we are linked together. I wish her party colleagues would talk with her as there is much she needs to learn....and the laws have not been changed to date.
