She is having a really tough time on Twitter. Someone has also leaked a chat between some supportive MSPs. She is doing so much for us here in Scotland.

If anyone is reading this and thinking, what can I do. Send her a card to the Scottish Parliament. Their offices are glass. Show other MSPs as they walk by that she has huge support.

Please. It must be so hard for her and she is asking all the right questions and doing all the right things. Thanks.

Bumping
Not in Scotland but definitely want to be supportive!

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 17/04/2019 09:09

I will do today

KatvonHostileExtremist · 17/04/2019 09:19

That's a great idea. She is very brave.

MilletSentToForceIt · 17/04/2019 09:23

I will send a card tomorrow. My (Female) MP has refused to see me to discuss my concerns. Joan deserves all the help we can muster. I am not in Scotland, but I hope the post office have to put on an extra van run with sack loads of thank you cards for Joan.

WhatWouldBarbaraCastleDo · 17/04/2019 09:30

I wrote her one last night and have carried it around with me today - Here's my promise to find a post box tomorrow!

Cismyfatarse1 · 17/04/2019 09:31

Thanks all.

If you have any networks / Facebook groups etc. Please pass it on.

If she comes back from Easter to a tonne of cards it will really show her colleagues and get her some support.

BTW I am emphatically NOT an SNP supporter but this goes way beyond unionism / party politics.

It really does cut across political parties. I have been on her twitter showing support but will send a card.

I just happen to have an appropriate card, it’s being written & posted this morning. She’s fab.

Will do too !

64sNewName · 17/04/2019 10:36

I will do this as well. She is really courageous.

NotAnotherFeckingMuftiDay · 17/04/2019 10:39

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll get one in the post this afternoon.

Cismyfatarse1 · 17/04/2019 10:41

That is fantastic. Thanks all.

We need more like her.

Just pondering how post is processed at the Parliament to make sure they don’t get anything abusive/dangerous. There must be a system.

If she’s getting a hard time on social media I suppose it may come via post as well. But hopefully we can balance it out.

Badgerthebodger · 17/04/2019 11:02

I’ll do a card as well. Can someone let the ReSisters network know? There are a lot of them and they can probably help, ditto WPUK

Cismyfatarse1 · 17/04/2019 11:25

I always send postcards. That way the message of support is open and clear.

OP posts:
Daughterofmabel · 17/04/2019 12:02

Great idea. Will send one.

howonearthdidwegethere · 17/04/2019 12:15

The other female MSPs now likely to be targeted (due to the leaked conversation) could also do with support, I'd imagine.

They are:

Ash Denham
Ruth Maguire
Gillian Martin

Same address as above.

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 17/04/2019 12:48

Will do - I have so much admiration for her. She has acted with so much integrity

theOtherPamAyres · 17/04/2019 12:51

I think it's important to show politicians some hard, physical evidence that their stance is worthwhile. A load of thank you cards provide that evidence. They will help to embolden her colleagues.

I'm thinking particularly of Angela Crawley MP (SNP) who sits on the Women and Equality Parliamentary Committee, alongside Maria Miller.

Come on, Angela. You got it wrong with the Trans Equality Recommendations. Time to reflect and do a reverse ferret.
