And, as she says in the thread:

"Meanwhile a group of people have terrified and harassed my family. Doxed my children, made violent and sexual threats, signed me up to porn accounts, did the same to my husband, threatened to visit here. And tumbleweed..."

ClingFilmApplications there's no organisation and those who know me & how I work would find the idea that there was very amusing! Smile

nauticant · 21/03/2019 20:19

It's true that Absolutepowercorrupts. When I read "folks", or especially "folx", I see in parentheses "women's boundaries are to be determined by people other than women".

R0wantrees · 21/03/2019 20:23

I've just watched footage of Dr Julia Long and a small group of lesbians and other women who were sat quietly waiting for the Trans Visibility panel be removed (with some force) by a combination of seven Police Officers and private Security Guards.

The event was being hosted by Accenture and was ticketed (available for everyone)

Susie Green was one of the panel members.

Your comment is also true but for me as soon as I see the word folks or ladies it's as if a klaxon has gone off in my head and I know that what will follow is total bullshit, an attempt at derailing or false equivalence

R0wantrees · 21/03/2019 20:46

SpartacusAutisticusAHF
Thank you.

Interesting that it was the City of London police.

I wonder if Edward Lord was in the audience.....

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3380245-The-City-of-London-consultation-didn-t-go-quite-as-they-hoped

From Jane Fae's TRA conference, 'We're Still Here' last year:

OP TheHarpySings Thu 18-Oct-18 reported:
"4) Equalities Act

So… there was a kind of informal meeting during lunchtime about The Equalities Act which was being run by everyone’s favourite advocate for extreme porn, Jane Fae. Edward Lord turned up, straight from a meeting with the City of London Corp. PlEASE NOTE THAT FAE AND LORD DID NOT WANT THIS SECTION TWEETED.

Edward Lord. He was dressed like Tweedledum. Or, if I’m feeling generous, a Mario Brother that doesn’t get invited to Xmas dinner anymore.

Mr Lord was very bumfaced about the Andrew Gilligan article about him in July and said that opposition to the GRA consultation just wanted to “cause mayhem.” He directly mentioned the Man Friday Hampstead Pond stuff.

Apparently “there have been no incidents of men turning up to the women’s pond but Man Friday turned up to the men’s pond and demanded admission- by force if necessary.”

As of 8/9/18, 15.5k people had completed the attitudes survey.

Lord said that TW were entitled to the protected characteristic “Woman”- he said the Gov dept on woman and equalities has confirmed this. Apparently the brave and stunning vexatious litigator Giuliana Kendall has something to do with this being confirmed.

Edward Lord is worried about the 125 elected members of the London assembly or whatever the fuck Londoners have governing the city. Not all of them are onside. He is worried that all of this is going to be discussed at committee and that “terfs are going to protest”.

Jane Fae said that JF has been in contact w/ YHA and GirlGuiding. Fae is of the opinion that the law doesn’t distinguish gender and sex. They are not defined and parliament will not define them.

The TRAs are fully prepared to take local councils to court of they try to invoke EA2010 for reasons of sex. JF was nodding at Giuliana when JF said this.

James Morton (Scottish Trans Alliance) said to be “strategic about test cases to ensure strong case law”.

Edward Lord agreed. He also said that the City of London Corp city solicitor and the Chief Exec are “strong allies”.

Regards the consultation doc put out by the City of London Corp… Lord implied that they were going to go through the answers and cherry pick the the qualitative snapshots.

One of the Mermaids mums in attendance said the “banner of concerned mothers of vulnerable children shouldn’t be captured by bigots”. Lord is meeting officers about how data is presented and is “conscious of that line of argument”

Jane Fae said the GC side are spreading a myth of predatory males- which doesn’t happen (!!! Lolz Karen White). And also spreading the myth that that TW are paedophiles (Loz Karen White x2).

Then (and Fae didn’t want this tweeted) apparently, there ARE terrible people exploiting The Equalities Act. And they are…

Man Friday
We Need To Talk
Fair Play for Women

According to Fae, all of the above have broken laws and engaged in upskirting and crotch shots of TW. Fae talked about debating Amy Desir of Man Friday about refuges. Amy talked about how female socialisation essentially stops us from refusing TW in our spaces.

JF then asked people not to tweet this next bit because it is libellous: Amy Desir took her husband into the Next changing rooms to commit voyeurism.
Fae (shouting): “Who is the pervert now?!!”

JF hopes that Amy and Man Friday are prosecuted."

I'm sorry to read you're also triggered by "folks/folx" Absolutepowercorrupts. Since it's so problematic perhaps it would be best all round for it to be added to the list of forbidden words.

Ereshkigal · 21/03/2019 21:31

I'd vote for that!

Absolutepowercorrupts · 21/03/2019 21:51

No don't forbid it! it's useful as an indicator that bullshit is about to be written

CaptainMarvelBunting · 21/03/2019 22:25

I like folks. It makes me feel all savvy and cool like Bugs Bunny. I shall not relinquish it, and you shall have to judge me on my abhorrence for child abuse and my overwhelming fondness for women and their liberation.

So there, see.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/03/2019 22:28

I also like folks Blush it's a useful term for speaking to a (potentially) mixed sex group of people.

GabrielleNelson · 21/03/2019 22:44

I wonder if our new friend is trying to suggest that the penis is not removed, it's inverted to make the so called neovagina. However, surely the testicles do get removed?

I feel the great British public (especially the male half) would not regard it as a killer debating point if told that the penis is not removed, just turned inside out and supplemented with bits of scrotum where necessary.

Absolutepowercorrupts · 21/03/2019 22:52

Its All
Verbally, folks in a mixed sex group is a damn sight better than guys
On here it means a knobhead has just joined the conversatio, well to me it does

Absolutepowercorrupts · 21/03/2019 22:54

Proof read. conversation

AlunWynsKnee · 21/03/2019 22:59

GabrielleNelson castration is AFAIK removal of the testicles.

LangCleg · 21/03/2019 22:59

The infantilisation of a 15-year-old seems very ideologically driven too. I made all manner of life-changing and irreversible decisions for myself at 15, and I know folks who were living on their own and working to support themselves at that age. The idea that you can't make such decisions for yourself at that age is patently absurd.

I'd just like to very much thank this poster for coming here to so explicitly lay out in their own words exactly who is supporting what in this issue.

For posterity. And thousands of lurkers.

Absolutepowercorrupts · 21/03/2019 23:06

Anyway @ItsAllGoingToBeFine
You were very kind to me, I had another username on site stuff when I couldn't work out how to link. You weren't in the least bit patronising. So carry on with folks. I'll just mute the klaxon

Tunnockswafer · 21/03/2019 23:08

At 15 you're not old enough to send a "dick pic" to a partner for another three years, but you can decide to have that dick removed for eternity? Makes sense.

Absolutepowercorrupts · 21/03/2019 23:34

No tunnocks their mother decided

DodoPatrol · 21/03/2019 23:38

And kept artificially juvenile.

I think any child on puberty blockers should be treated with great caution and assumed to be of less mature understanding than their peers, not more.

NigellaAwesome · 21/03/2019 23:39

Since when did LGB become homogenised into LGBTQ+ ?

I think this is part of the issue. If you embrace one part, there is an expectation that all is embraced.

My organisation signed up to Stonewall to help inclusion of LGB colleagues, and I suppose T colleagues too. But it should t mean we are buying into this ridiculous trans political ideology.

I have noticed a number of our senior team using gender neutral pronouns such as they or their completely out of context.

Ereshkigal · 21/03/2019 23:44

I'd just like to very much thank this poster for coming here to so explicitly lay out in their own words exactly who is supporting what in this issue.

Just can't help doing it, can they.

Tunnockswafer · 21/03/2019 23:51

Absolutepower I was referring to the poster who said a 15 year old absolutely can make such decisions.
