Hah Millytant and Transposers - Bowland person here - I occupied the Senate Building about 20 years before that. Sadly I can't remember what it was all about.

There's probably enough real news at the moment that a handful of people protesting against moves towards a fairly sensible compromise on TW prisoners isn't going to spark interest.

It's more like easy hilarious material for a topical news show than real news. It was so shit a protest it was funny.

It interesting that the agreed angle from TRAs is that a trans wing would be dangerous. Why would that be? I thought transwomen were no threat to anyone, so why would they be a threat to each other? Also, if transwomen are women, then a trans wing is full of women anyway surely, they are not suggesting that a trans prison would be full of men, are they?! Surely there is not difference at all with if they go to a female prison, or a transwoman (bcause I cannot see transmen being chucked in with transwomen somehow, so this IS a transwomans thing) one.

They will say everything and anytihng to access female spaces.
The end goal is to overtake and be women, the end goal will never happen, because men are not women, and they will get more and more agressive because of it.

Yeah it seems, I posted before reading the full thread so kind of assumed that the way I read it was the way it was meant.

Not at all sure how having a transwing means that the guards will attack them, surely if the guards were transphobic then they would attack them regardless of where they were

Not sure, but I think they don't want nasty man-guards and prefer what they've seen in Bare Behind Bars, Reform School Girls and other Prisonsploitation films, the ones where the lady-guards don't have any buttons on ther blouses.

Do they think in the normal way of things prison guards wouldn't know prisoners were trans? Surely officers would need to know that in order to look after their health and welfare appropriately anyway?

Anyone else notice they got the dates wrong for one of their criminals and have tried to cover it up with loo roll or a hankie or something? Or perhaps they borrowed a vest from getting dressed person? Although I did notice a topless chap in the pipe band video too so maybe some of them just like freedom from the capitalist conventions of wearing clothes as well as law enforcement and national boundaries (then remembered it was February).

Do women's prisons have more female warders? Maybe getting searched by a woman who is required to use your pronouns is a pleasant little thrill for them. Being mostly bigger than the guards has to be a bonus too. Nice all girls together chat with the guards who can't object. A trans wing in a men's prison would be shit in comparison. Vanishingly few opportunities to get a thrill from woman stuff.

There is a male prison (high down) on the same site so there may be officers who identify as women who are able to work in the transwomen section.
