"More young people than ever are exploring their gender identity. Last year, two and a half thousand under-eighteens were referred to NHS England's gender identity clinics for support. Some are hoping to get access to potentially irreversible treatments as soon as they can. Doctors are divided about the best way to help."

"Dr Faye Kirkland investigates how much we understand about the care being offered to transgender children."

"potentially irreversible" is an interesting choice of wording by the BBC.

August 2018 investigation still available on iplayer:

"Online Doctors Uncovered
Panorama

Panorama goes undercover to reveal online doctor sites putting profit before patient care. In 2017 the Care Quality Commission issued a warning about the risks of buying drugs prescribed by doctors online. The programme discovers opiate-based painkillers and slimming tablets being sold to potentially vulnerable people and antibiotics being delivered across Europe in the face of warnings about resistance.

Dr Faye Kirkland, journalist and GP, meets the families of patients who have died after online consultations and exposes the sites running rings around the regulators."

Random thoughts ticking through my head about Dr Haddock disappearing from Twitter and out of sight in New Zealand. Could he have known this was coming up? And Ruth Hunt. And Stonewall trustees up against the wall and fighting anyone and everyone in desperation. Next it'll be Owen 'wrong side of history' Jones taking a couple of months out of the limelight.

2019StandingforWomen · 25/02/2019 13:27

Shon Faye has also gone very quiet - anyone know why?

nauticant · 25/02/2019 13:27

"potentially irreversible" is an interesting choice of wording by the BBC.

The other month they were running completely reversible. You've got to laugh haven't you?

Vixxxy · 25/02/2019 14:03

Will watch this if it gets uploaded somewhere, which I am sure it will. Can't watch BBC stuff, or live TV as refuse to pay TV license.

Mrskeats · 25/02/2019 14:08

Dr H has disappeared because he’s under investigation by the GMC.
The others are probably panicking.

HandsOffMyRights · 25/02/2019 14:20

Good points Gosh

I will watch with interest. Is this on tonight? (Mentally sets planner not to clash with new Alan Partridge)

misscockerspaniel · 25/02/2019 14:30

Yes, it is tonight (Monday 25 Feb)

Jog22 · 25/02/2019 14:35

The BBC schedule says it's on tonight;
www.bbc.co.uk/schedules/p00fzl6p

The programme website says its on Wednesday;
www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0002tw1

Are they deliberately trying to have us miss it. Lucky I'M not paranoid.

Melroses · 25/02/2019 15:01

Have to go out Sad

Will miss this, and following the Norwich meeting on twitter - have followed every meeting I can so far.Sad

Still, the rest of life has to go one Smile

Bowlofbabelfish · 25/02/2019 15:38

The BBC page (aimed at young people) I complained about that had the fully reversible stuff on it has disappeared.

Melroses · 25/02/2019 16:38

hmm - interesting.

TimeLady · 25/02/2019 17:10

Duh, sorry about the date. Have asked for the title to be altered.

[crossed fingers -feeling quietly hopeful]

Whereareyouspot · 25/02/2019 20:02

DrH is travelling around NZ and reported he would be taking a SoMe break whilst away so nothing to do with the GMC I don’t think.

Mrskeats · 25/02/2019 20:07

Dr H knows he’s under investigation so he would be foolish to make things worse.

IamThereforeIdontIdentify · 25/02/2019 20:14

Maybe Dr H is looking to relocate?!

ToeToToe · 25/02/2019 20:19

Shon Faye seems to have deleted nearly all their tweets.

Regretting the "get tits early and be as slutty as you can" and "enjoy your erasure" tweets, shon ?

ToeToToe · 25/02/2019 20:22

Expect a lot of people to be deleting their tweets in the near future. This scandal is going to break sooner or later.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 25/02/2019 20:28

I want this to be open an honest but it's the BBC.

Muststopfaffing · 25/02/2019 20:28

About to start

failingatlife · 25/02/2019 20:29

Appears to be Wed in Scotland and tonight elsewhere.

EweSurname · 25/02/2019 20:33
