from reddit mtf:

all comments affirming. They are delighted to have actual women apologizing for being in the 'wrong' place in the women's room. Absolutely no understanding of the fear any woman or girl might feel encountering a male person in a vulnerable, isolated space. Also: "little girls' room" for a 19 y.o. person...

Part of the faith of the gender identity ideology is to believe that transwomen and transmen and totally symmetrical in their motivations, wants, risks posed to others, and, where relevant, their mental health conditions.

It's just not true. But we must believe.

Earlywalker · 11/01/2019 19:40

jacky de ja vu on here today! You’ve already asked that, and I’ve already responded Smile

datun I pity you a bit, you are so far into your ideology, you refuse to acknowledge any differing opinions and instead, create your own idea of what they’re thinking, a view different to what they’ve expressed, because you couldnt bare to actually listen and answer, you must instead ‘summarise’ with absurd points created in your own mind so that everyone that reads it ends on your wonderful summary that I must hate woman or similar, and voila you can jump back on your high horse.
You’re by no means the only one but It’s a shame so many MNers have blocked this section now because of it though. Feminism should be open to everyone, not just those with the same view as yourself.

Datun · 11/01/2019 19:49

early, I've talked to you for hours. Over and over, back and forth. You have no argument.

I'm sure you know this, but just in case, The number of people who have accessed this entire site, through the feminist board has increased 12 fold in 12 months.

After AIBU and one that I can't remember (relationships?), it's most popular board on the site.

When your argument is nah, no-one likes you, your credibility evaporates.

Earlywalker · 11/01/2019 19:54

Do you believe they’re accessing it to marvel in your excellence? Grin

IfNotNowBernard · 11/01/2019 19:57

That's true datun. I never used to go near the feminism boards. Not because I'm not a feminist but because I thought it was all theoretical and everyone was an academic. I just found out my 62 year old aunt lurks on here btw Grin and probably loads of other women who are currently going "wtf?". The MN stats bear it out anyway. (bear not bare).

borntobequiet · 11/01/2019 20:03

I came to MN in pursuit of a lesson plan featuring online discussions. Stayed for lots of reasons, but FWR and posters like Datun feature very near the top of the list. There was a very long thread recently that confirmed that many other people feel the same way. It’s been an education.

Natch!

I'm not an academic feminist. You don't need any qualification. Being a woman is all it takes.

Well, that and alcohol, obvs.

FloralBunting · 11/01/2019 20:21

Chutzpah helps too.

littlbrowndog · 11/01/2019 20:22

Datun is 💪💪😘😘

No arguing with the facts.

YES!

deepwatersolo · 11/01/2019 20:45

Considering how TRAs obsess about mumsnet (and thereby always specifically mean the feminism board), it does seem to be a raging success, in terms of reach and influence.

Belindabauer · 11/01/2019 20:47

Ok I'm going to be very blunt.

I don't give a fuck if you "feel like a woman" I really don 't.

What I do say is this ; I don't want a MAN in women 's spaces and that includes toilets and changing rooms.changing

I put the safety of children and women above that of the feelings of a transwoman.
I don't want my children to have to face this.
Boo fucking hoo if this upsets you.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 11/01/2019 20:55

you refuse to acknowledge any differing opinions

Well that's bollocks for a start

Ive lost count of the number of times women on FWR have explained that they were at one end of the trans debate spectrum and now they are at the other end..having listened to differing opinions and changing their minds

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 11/01/2019 20:56

It pisses me off this whole 'people just havent thought about it enough i shall educate them' bullshit

Its fucking hypocritical for a start

lydiamajora · 11/01/2019 20:58

Earlywalker must have missed that one thread - the one where all the newbies and lurkers were posting about how they had originally come to gawk at the transphobia on this board and then stuck around after peaking.

AngryAttackKittens · 11/01/2019 21:05

I'd rather not bare anything in front of adult male humans who I'm not intimately acquainted with, Early. That's rather a key point in this whole discussion.

(This has been today's lesson in why SPAG is important.)

Do I have to feel comfortable with this?
I feel like I'm being forced to.

PositivelyPERF · 11/01/2019 21:16

Do you believe they’re accessing it to marvel in your excellence?

Absolutely. I wish I had a fraction of Datun’s clarity and patience. I have a tendency to just want to write, when a transplainer pops up, (not directed at any poster in particular) ‘oh piss off and stop telling women they don’t know their own mind. But I just bite my tongue. 😁

AngryAttackKittens · 11/01/2019 21:16

Nah, come join us in the "not having it" corner, we have tea or gin depending on the time of day and excellent biscuits.
