That’s a very good article and reveals that Corbyn and his cronies don’t actually give two figs about the actual poor and marginalised, they are smacking their lips at the prospect of all that sweet delicious power....

The reason we don’t have women at the helm is that more women are unlikeable than men - Hilary Clinton, May (is she any worse than male tories? No), Cherie Blair being pipped to a seat by Call Me Tony, the last election hasn’t helped Yvette Cooper’s chances.

Voters don’t tend to like career women.

I have heard a lot of goodwill extended to Theresa May in real life as opposed to on line.

A decent article...I can't say I'm much of a fan of Nick Cohen, I think he's got it completely wrong about the EU and he seems to have been reduced to attacking Tories more & more in the Spectator, after his abject failure in dissuading voters from voting for Jeremy Corbyn.

That said, I liked it. Particularly the way he highlights the cynicism of Corbyn/labour facing both ways on Brexit. But it did probably help them at the last GE though.

Agree it’s still the case that there are many more subjective judgments people apply to women in the public eye/leadership positions than men.

I think most normal mature wealthy influential women would say "Fuck this", explain that it's impossible even for a woman, and then bugger off to a better place and leave men to clear up a mess made mostly by men.

Agreex. I don't consider myself a feminist but have no difficulty getting that point. If it had been Caneron there Corbyn would have muttered "idiot" or "stupid idiot" - not "stupid man'(and I don't give tuppence of credibility to the claim by one poster that "srupid man" is as likely as "stupid woman")
