Can't see that - can you summarise please?

Yeahnahyeah · 09/12/2018 11:47

I can't even

NotTerfNorCis · 09/12/2018 11:48

Harrop should be investigated for wasting police time.

Well done for your courage in the face of all this, Glinner.

SunsetBeetch · 09/12/2018 11:50

So Adrian Harrop just sent the (very nice) cops round after I tweeted this about him yesterday. Luckily I now have some experience now with abusive people using the police as their own private force.

So I told them I had no intention of contacting Harrop, would like to stay as far away from him as humanly possible, but I retained the right to talk about a public figure because freedom of speech is a thing.

So, nice try, but now I'm going to get on with my Sunday. :)

The offensive Tweet was this, which refers to Posie wiping the floor with Harrop on Sky News:

Have a look at this again and ask yourself why Parker is banned from various platforms, while Harrop isn’t. Could it be anything to do with...male privilege? Could it have anything to do with men deciding what women are and are not allowed to say?

Then links to Harrop v Posie Parker video from Sky News

Thanks Popchyk, quicker than I am!

I'm really confused. Since when was "someone was mean to me on twitter" been a police matter?

MrsSnippyPants · 09/12/2018 11:52

And SunsetBeetch!

And this is the thread that Harrop thought warranted a visit from the police.

twitter.com/Glinner/status/1071499951199412225?s=19

Kinesis, who is trans, on being called transphobic.

I’m glad I’m on the side of women and transwomen like Kinesis. Meanwhile, the other side has Doctor ‘Do No Harm’ Adrian Harrop, Aimee Challenor, Jess Bradley, Rachel McKinnon etc.

Along with countless well-meaning people who have somehow forgotten that we live in a patriarchy, and thus been conditioned to hate and distrust women.

So if you STILL believe that thousands of left wing women and lesbians suddenly turned into bigots overnight, then you’re The Left’s equivalent to climate change deniers.

Have a look at this again and ask yourself why Parker is banned from various platforms, while Harrop isn’t. Could it be anything to do with...male privilege? Could it have anything to do with men deciding what women are and are not allowed to say? t.co/na1rgG9eUC

Gentlygently · 09/12/2018 11:53

But why did the police come? What was the crime?

MrsSnippyPants · 09/12/2018 11:53

Given you can’t even get the police out for a burglary, how is this happening?

OP posts:
HandsOffMyRights · 09/12/2018 11:54

I hope the police force is named so we can submit complaints/FOI and call for an investigation of what grounds Harrop had and just why an overstretched force acted on this.

I'm sure local victims of crime and tax payers will be thrilled that resource was used for this.

ViragoKnows · 09/12/2018 11:54

Old Adrian called the police because someone was discussing a piece on Sky News!?

There was nothing in that tweet that remotely is worthy of police attention.

What a numpty.

zen1 · 09/12/2018 11:57

FFS, that man is the epitome of narcissism. He really doesn’t think that the stripped-back police force don’t have better things to do with their time?

Lottapianos · 09/12/2018 11:58

Sweet Jesus. Calling the police because someone called him out for his male privilege. I've heard it all now. Graham didn't even say anything remotely threatening, personal or even vaguely 'mean' about him. What a ridiculous little specimen he is

Very glad to hear the police were pleasant. They probably saw through all the bullshit themselves

Ereshkigal · 09/12/2018 11:59

Harrop isn't trans. There's no possibility of a hate crime here.

Very glad to hear the police were pleasant. They probably saw through all the bullshit themselves

Why didn't they just tell Harrop to stop wasting police time?

SunsetBeetch · 09/12/2018 12:00

Absolutely agree HandsOffMyRights what an appalling waste of resources.

ViragoKnows · 09/12/2018 12:00

He did make a fool of himself on that news piece, though. He seems incredibly thin-skinned about it.

I don’t think the police will be happy to keep telling off anyone who points out that he’s silly, though.

Calvinsmam · 09/12/2018 12:01

What??

I mean.

Gosh.

On what possible grounds does that need police involvement?

The gulags shall be pretty full if that’s considered a crime now.

VictoryOrValhalla · 09/12/2018 12:02

What crime did he report? What police force was this?

OlennasWimple · 09/12/2018 12:03

I'm gob smacked that the police didn't politely tell Dr H to have a word with himself and simply NFA the complaint

If Glinner is willing to share which police force apparently have ample spare resource to do this stuff, I will complain the relevant police and crime commissioner about the madness (and indeed harassment of Glinner, which is what this is becoming - the police are not tools to be used in a private feud)

ViragoKnows · 09/12/2018 12:03

Wasn’t it Norfolk police last time?

Calvinsmam · 09/12/2018 12:03

Though I suppose the ‘glinted is such a transphobe the police even got involved’ narrative has a bit more steam to it.

So transparent and manipulative.

We see you.
