The best research and advice is not to engage with community disruptors and trolls. As ever, if you suspect troll activity, report it to MNHQ.

This is a continuation of the first Public Service Announcement thread:

If and when you see threads plopped into FWR, especially a curious repeat of well worn topics, maybe check for poster history before engaging.

There are a number of posts/posters/threads that are reproduced on Twitter or Facebook to foment controversy using screen shots & flagging to either MNHQ to have threads or posters deleted. Sometimes, it’s used to approach commissioning editors with ideas for articles. It’s a tiresome tactic that we’ve had several community disruptor posters who themselves post the comments that they then highlight elsewhere as purported evidence of racism, religious intolerance, anti-men sentiments, or transphobia.

It appears I have stumbled across the fortress of sanity, I had heard tales of this Bunbury thread.

Named in honour of our revered leader, Germane Bunbury, DoctorEm. You may have read her seminal text Fuck 'em, the lot of 'em - it's one of our favourites.

It rings a bell but I feel I would benefit from a re-reading, or even just copying it out until it has become a part of me. I'll go check the original thread, is it hosted there?

Unfortunately as happens to powerful women sometimes, she has had a slightly creepy stalker pop up who likes to do a poor imitation of her

When you're engaged in what you think is a relatively sensible conversation and then suddenly get drenched in froth with multiple points nothing whatsoever to do with the topic at hand but providing a neat list of TRA bingo squares...….

Honestly? Same as it ever was, AWAs abound, and a lot of sensible women have upped sticks for various reasons.

I haven't seen Datun for a while but I have been cheering on many of my favourite voices from my dark corner I lurk in.

I opt to Grey Rock rather than allow time wasters to sit at the top of the board.

If you are referring to me I was pointing out the incorrect interpretation of how protection is given to an employee who is pregnant. The employee can "identify" however they want- they still can't be sacked just for being pregnant. The posts relating to sacking because of pregnancy/ sex discrimination were wrong.

Lass I was referring to the OP on that thread, I had missed your post about the law.

Oh Lass knows you didn't mean her, she just wanted to preen a bit about being right. I've had the same sort of thing from one of my daughters this evening because I thought the milk was in date and she was right that it wasn't.
Luckily for me I'm able to say when I'm wrong, so I avoided a sour cup of tea.

Crikey. I thought that comment was pretty mild. Turns out having an opinion is a delectable offence now-who knew?

The moderating over the last few months has been hard to follow tbh but there are certain posters ( and of course our monitors ) who do love a report button

Tempted to spend my lunch break reporting each and every post that could be construed as troll hunting on the first page of AIBU

I do wonder about MNHQ’s priorities sometimes, bearing in mind some of the posts they leave to stand

I think unfortunately it really depends on the individual, hence there’s absolutely no consistency.

I only read about 16 posts, but did wonder if she was mentally unwell.
