It seems that the wider conversation in the media has opened up and moved on, and questions are now being asked, but MP's - MP's FOR FECK'S SAKE - are about 6 months behind the rest of the country on this and are still massively (wilfully?) missing the point.

Honestly, the ignorance is staggering.

It's deliberate, this is being pushed through by someone in govenment.

She (lib Dems woman) speaks with such authority which causes people who are not very knowledgeable to believe the rubbish she is spouting. I believe the equality act prohibits discrimination against people undergoing gender reassignment. That doesn't mean transwkmen should be treated as women. It seems reasonable that it means they shouldn't be treated any differently from other men because transwomen with a GRC are singled out and should be treated in almost all circumstances as biological women.

If self-ID is already in place why single out those with a GRC for special mention? Even if I am wrong, it is certainly a debatable issue which I have seen law academics arguing. But she speaks as if these matters are settled, and because most MPs are clueless they just accept what she has to say as the current legal position. I don't even think David TC Davies has the level of knowledge to refute her claims
