Looks like some of the unpleasant Lewisham Momentum based chums of LM have had a big spat with a housemate.

Apparently this now has something to do with LM and them supporting her for woman's officer, and they are blaming Te*fs.

Okay hands up... which mumsnetter has been breaking and entering in Lewisham. Come on own up.

This latest drama has been brought to you by Dr Haddock and the over sensitive flowers!

It isn't doing the Labour Party any good at all, I completely agree. As do a fairly substantial proportion of the members. It is damaging the cause they proclaim to support, and the efforts of 95% of the people within the Party who have nothing to do with this insanity.

BreakWindandFire · 12/11/2018 13:22

reminded me of !

Redshoeblueshoe · 12/11/2018 13:25

Well it was Corbyn who said TWAW. My MP signed the letter that was in PN.
My MP thinks there is no problem with TW in sports.
So from where I'm standing Labour has lost the plot

FreezerBird · 12/11/2018 13:26

Oh god Cliff's hair! Shock Grin

Did an actual recoil when that appeared....

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 12/11/2018 13:31

Do 95% of the Party also disagree with the whole transwomen are women thing & the proposed GRA changes? Because if they do I WISH they'd shout more loudly.

calpop · 12/11/2018 13:32

Well at least zerself is finding some time to attend lectures. It's only November and ze has already learnt about class definitions and agency. Will be good for when it inevitably all comes crashing down - maybe zx~y will actually learn enough to be able to work in politics properly. (Good for whomever is paying zzzz's tuition fees as well, I wonder who that is hmmm)

I am properly chortling about the idea of anyone at Goldsmiths being working class though. LOL!

I wonder if our parents laughed at us like this back in the 80/90s? They did a good job of keeping a poker face. Mind you, we weren't trying to force them to comply with our nonsense.

Sometimes I wonder if it's me who's mad, you know?

I mean, there isn't a political party I can vote for now - they've all jumped on the ridiculous notion that TWAW.

Meanwhile, two women a week are murdered by violent men. Two a fucking week. And I am to accept trans women into sex segragated spaces because they'd like to pee with me and not men? And we just hope that the predatory, dangerous men don't pretend to be trans, then?

Silly me, I'm being hysterical again. Of course, that would never happen.

karen white Paris Green jessica winfield and the fucking rest

Anyway, if Labour continue to collude in the silencing of women they are a dead party.

LassWiADelicateAir · 12/11/2018 13:40

The Labour Party's stance on trans issue is I'd guess irelevant to most people even if they know about it. It didn't figure in my decision to resign from the party.

There are plenty of reasons not to vote Labour. Personally stuff like can a trans woman sit on an all women short list is no concern at all (I don't like AWS anyway)

Momentum will shortly be synonymous with the Labour Party. Momentum is an extreme left wing, totalitarian movement. Momentum scares me, and I would imagine the Blairites, far more than anything relating to trans issues.

deepwatersolo · 12/11/2018 13:42

Saying 'this group tends to get discriminated against in employment' and then jumping from that to 'and therefore they are all by definition working class' is bizarre. By the same logic women would be working class. And BME people.

That is what happens when some posh kids try to construct themselves a super-marginalized identity. Trans is maginalized? Gimme some lip stick and self-ID. What, Bernie Sanders, Picketty & Co say that the most profound struggle is the class struggle and the working class is being crushed? Oh well then, so we're working class, too.

I am pretty confident if the next Best Selling Book identifies single immigrant mums as the most oppressed and marginalized of all, Shon will be that, too.

TakeHands8 · 12/11/2018 13:45

Do 95% of the Party also disagree with the whole transwomen are women thing & the proposed GRA changes? Because if they do I WISH they'd shout more loudly.

I think 95% of the ordinary, grass roots membership who just pay their subs and, at the most, pop out to do a bit of leafleting during election time, which is the majority of the members, either are as ignorant of the self-ID proposals as the majority of the rest of the country and when it's explained to them think it's ridiculous, or they're aware of issues already and understand concerns. In fairness, though, my perspective might be skewed because of where I live. Perhaps in other areas everyone's extremely keen on TWAW and concerned voices are a minority.

I am sure that the reason most who are concerned aren't speaking up is because they're scared to be labelled transphobic. It does feel like the tide is turning though, and (mostly) aware women in the Party are gaining strength from the few women who've dared question it. The wheels turn slowly though, so motions penned for Councils and CLPs in August/September are still waiting to be discussed in the next two or three months, if not longer. We are trying.

On another note, having just read LM's Twitter, I don't think she's got any comprehension of how serious the allegation she's making are, and, if it was me, I'd be seriously worried about the Party's take on it if people complain. I hope Morgan Horn complains.

Ereshkigal · 12/11/2018 13:47

They never noticed, until the aforementioned broken toilet was presented on Christmas morning all done up in a big red bow.

Haha 😂 I had a house party when I was doing my A levels as my family went on holiday and I had exams. I stupidly left it to the day before they came back. I also stupidly left a piece of paper with a list of guests on entitled "party list" by the phone.

hipsterfun · 12/11/2018 14:06

I am properly chortling about the idea of anyone at Goldsmiths being working class though.

Arguably, nobody attending a university is working anything class. I’m sure it has plenty of students from what could be considered working class backgrounds though.

That is what happens when some posh kids try to construct themselves a super-marginalized identity.

It doesn’t strike me as posh (in the sense I understand posh) kids driving this. If pushed I’d say petit bourgeois rather than bourgeois, which sort of makes sense now I’m thinking about it.

LangCleg · 12/11/2018 14:24

petit bourgeois rather than bourgeois

Yes. Attempting to align themselves with the bourgeois and having so little self awareness that they have no idea this is what they are doing. Hence Lily directly using Shon's exact words without any quotation marks.

wopbamboo · 12/11/2018 14:31

so..... How do we help Morgan?

Can we contact Scottish young labour, or can we report something? I'd really like to help.

Can we report the tweets that accuse her? Given that another person has admitted the incident was by them, those tweets are libel?

I just want to know how we can help.

Also all that pish about 'I'm on the cover of teen vogue, I saved 19 sure start centres' BWAAAAAAAHAHAHA what a prick.

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 12/11/2018 14:35

This article from Feminist Current spells it all out very clearly.
www.feministcurrent.com/2018/03/23/leftist-women-uk-refuse-accept-labours-attempts-silence-critiques-gender-identity/

TakeHands8 · 12/11/2018 14:36

Yes, wopbamboo, that's the lines I'm thinking along too. A copy of the tweets and a couple of lines outlining concerns that Morgan Horn is being libelled/falsely accused and bullied out of a position and emailed to [email protected] seems to be the way to do it.

Here's the process (also copied below) - labour.org.uk/members/my-welfare/making-a-complaint/

Should you wish to make a formal complaint, the first step is to put your concerns in writing to the National Complaints Team. You should include as much detail as possible, and try to include:

Summary of complaint

Dates and times of any relevant events

Name of individual the complaint is about (if relevant) including any information that will help identify them

Any evidence that supports your complaint (including screenshots if the complaint relates to social media or other websites)

Names of witnesses who may be able to provide an account

You can contact the National Complaints Team at [email protected] or you can send your complaint to the below address:

I left university over 20 years ago and only broke the last of my collection of purloined pint glasses a years ago...

Kids these days, eh?

wopbamboo · 12/11/2018 14:52

I am complaining now. I would encourage everyone else to do the same. Lily thinks its ok to slander someone in public. Outrageous.

wopbamboo · 12/11/2018 15:01

I have complained. Attached screenshots.

wopbamboo · 12/11/2018 15:02

I didnt copy in any of the ridiculously gloating comments on that facebook post, maybe someone else could?

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 12/11/2018 15:34

Do you have to be a Labour member to complain?

KatVonGulag · 12/11/2018 15:37

The Facebook comments have been sent to labour complaints.
