I can't listen as I'll be working but heads up if anyone else can.

Richard Garside will be on.

The other thing that Anne Ruzlo was saying at one of the meetings I went to was that a lot of these men are paedophiles and they will strike up friendships in the female prisons with mothers who are often very vulnerable people. And they will make arrangements to meet up with those mothers when they get out as a friend....

Chilling. Sad

It was a 3rd hand story but one lady said her relative was in the prison with KW. KW refused to wear 'her' wig and the prison officers said if 'she' didn't then 'she' wouldn't be able to stay in the female prison. So maybe that is the criteria for letting men into female prisons - a wig!

Can you imagine how frustrating that must be for the prison staff, being forced to manage someone who's obviously taking the piss?

Ok I've changed my mind about Jeremy, thanks for making me think about it folks. Agree that by explicitly towing the BBC line and expressing elements of struggle with it dressed up as struggle not to offend he did a good job.

I'm wary too about surgery being touted as a magic card into women's spaces, especially given that surgery doesn't actually mean that one has changed sex. I don't know what the answer is. In an ideal world, bloody men would get their shit together and actually accept those of their sex who present as feminine. This is the kind of inclusivity that would work, for me. However we have to find a different way around it because men will never do this.

This is the elephant in the room for me - here is everyone tying themselves up in knots trying to find ways for women to fix this, when actually the reason why trans women can't use the spaces which accord with their biological sex is because of the threat of male violence.

Without that being addressed, any so called solution is going to be a fudge. And it won't be addressed because men.
