I listened to the whole thing too. Jeremy Vine clearly has to stick to the BBC rules and I understand that completely, he wants to keep his job. He did get in to a total mess with how to describe it all, which was useful in highlighting what a shambles the whole self ID issue is:

Other surgeries can also change the voice box etc. You can live your life as fully functioning woman minus the ability to have a child.
