I can't listen as I'll be working but heads up if anyone else can.

Richard Garside will be on.

what a surprise indeed, Destinys, and of course if that woman hadn't happened to call in to the programme, it wouldn't have been mentioned otherwise.

pancaketosser · 12/10/2018 13:35

Jeremy does sound like he's having repeated WTF moments.

PineappleSunrise · 12/10/2018 13:35

Vine is wrong. According to Bishop (who met White pre-criminal acts, and is well informed on how trans offenders are supported and housed in prisons), Karen White has been transing since before she committed her crimes and is a bad egg as a man AND as a woman. Switching gender presentation has had no impact on White's actual character.

Destinysdaughter · 12/10/2018 13:35

And now we have a genuine transsexual who is saying that unless they’ve gone through a physical transition, they should go to a man’s prison!

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 12/10/2018 13:36

Actually some of this is rather good. Knowledgeable callers who don't buy the woke bullshit.

ExtremistParanoidBigot · 12/10/2018 13:36

The transwoman who has called in is talking a lot of sense, well done to them.

KittyMcKitty · 12/10/2018 13:37

Paula is amazing “that doesn’t make them a woman if you’ve got a male body”

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 12/10/2018 13:37

Yes good for you Paula

Destinysdaughter · 12/10/2018 13:37

Jeremy can barely speak now! 😀

anunseemlylovefordustin · 12/10/2018 13:37

I want to find that trans lady who was just on and give her the BIGGEST hug! She was amazing!

KittyMcKitty · 12/10/2018 13:38

Jeremy said “my understanding as a broadcaster is that if someone self ID’s as a woman I have to call them she”.

HuckfromScandal · 12/10/2018 13:38

I am loving Paula, a transsexual, who is speaking a huge amount of sense.

If a transgender person hasn’t physically changed, then there are bigger issues going on! Fabulous.

scepticalwoman · 12/10/2018 13:40

Vine tying himself up in knots at the "she exposed himself to a child". Just listen to yourself. Talking about a rapist and paedophile and more worried about misgendering than the harm being done to a child fgs!

Destinysdaughter · 12/10/2018 13:40

Jeremy also said that if someone identifies as the opposite gender the BBC policy is clear that they have to call them that. Well that’s good to know!

hopingforhappiness · 12/10/2018 13:40

Jeremy:
"She exposed himself"
Ridiculous.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 12/10/2018 13:40

Kitty agree, I was so pleased to hear that too. JV then read a comment from another caller (trans) who said how much this story had horrified their community.
I'm having moments of optimism this week as we get closer to the 19th, it feels like more and more people are having WTF? moments.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 12/10/2018 13:40

Kudos too to the other caller who spelled out what it was like for Women serving their sentences alongside KW.

ExtremistParanoidBigot · 12/10/2018 13:40

Do I need to ask HQ to remove my post referring to Paula as a trans woman? Should it have read transexual? I didn't hear how she was described either by herself or by Vine and don't want to get it wrong.

KERALA1 · 12/10/2018 13:41

I found the recounting of the showering in the woman's prison by the relative of a prisoner really upsetting. The horror that these women literally have no choice, they cannot decide to use another toilet or change leisure centre. Its literally a nightmare for them. How anyone can argue male bodied people should have access to female spaces after hearing that baffles me.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 12/10/2018 13:42

This would be an ideal moment for Jezza to mention the consultation

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 12/10/2018 13:42

Paula was brilliant. Jeremy tying himself up in woke knots and she cuts through the bullshit with "That doesn't make them a woman".

NigelMolesworth · 12/10/2018 13:42

Paula from Wellingborough was great. I've just punched the air at 'well that doesn't make them a woman'.

Lottapianos · 12/10/2018 13:43

'Just listen to yourself. Talking about a rapist and paedophile and more worried about misgendering than the harm being done to a child fgs!'

Yes, exactly. Great to know the BBC's priorities Hmm 'She exposed himself' - for the love of actual sanity!

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 12/10/2018 13:43

Destinys I noticed that as well - I think Jeremy's fear of his job is a big driver behind the pronoun nonsense.

greathat · 12/10/2018 13:44

Just got in after listening to this in the car on my way home from Wellingborough, thought I should turn round and wander the streets shouting Paula! Til I could shake her hand
