Am I misremembering or was green related to an officer in WYP? Of course they’re far too professional for any such connections to influence them.

McTufty · 06/10/2018 18:23

From what I know of them, those warnings mean bugger all in terms of who is right or wrong here. SH trying to spin it as a victory. It isn’t. Wonder if she is pursuing her civil claim - she says anything else ‘between the parties’ in other words maybe she isnt pursuing that and this harassment warning is for her to save face? Private offer to him to drop hands on that claim as long as he agrees not making public the fact they’ve done so?

All so unnecessary at a time of scant police resources anyroad.

SPOFS · 06/10/2018 18:35

David Baddiel is currently defending Graham, but LOJ is attacking him in response.

thatdamnwoman · 06/10/2018 18:50

My reading of it was that it was a face-saver. I'm really hoping Glinner can get a legal opinion and this can go to court. Sorry, GL — I have been through something roughly comparable myself and it's horrible but sometimes only the law can cut through this nonsense.

WanderinWomb · 06/10/2018 19:24

There is a mention of WYP about 10-11 minutes in re child being bullied.

Susie Green having a lot of dealing with WYP is well known , Mermaids are employed as trainers and "consult and advise" West Yorks Police on transgender matters.

Manderleyagain · 06/10/2018 19:52

Spofs where's this? Assuming twitter but can't see it. Could you link?

DoctorTwo · 06/10/2018 20:10

Why isn't "mysoginiatic conduct" a thing?

It is treated as a crime in Nottinghamshire. Maybe MNers based there could complain to the police whenever one of these MRAs send misogynistic tweets.

FekkoTheLawyer · 06/10/2018 20:33

Well that wont bring out 5 police officers and a horse will it?

BreakWindandFire · 06/10/2018 21:39

Mods - I assume that this isn't doxxing as it's publicly available info.

'Steph' only obtained a GRC in May 2018 - they are on Reddit detailing how they 'padded out' their application with statements from themselves and a friend, and that the process was a 'cakewalk'. So a month later when asked by a medical professional for proof that they'd lived in role for 2 years, Steph could say the following to the doctor: "My reply, "I think you'll find my GRC actually proves that, as I need at least 2 years of evidence to get one!"

Not exactly a robust process then is it?

And there's plenty of online evidence of Hayden posting under two former male names until at least late 2016. Plus photos as gender-typical man. Plus videos.

RealGhouls · 07/10/2018 15:04

Yes, it looks like if you want to get a 'few questions asked' GRC then you go here: gendercare.co.uk/fees.shtml

£300 from Dr. Penny, who Stephanie used.

I loathe that Lineman and his family are going through this.

However, if this created an environment in which that flawed, unchallengeable piece of nonsense that is the harassment notice could be reviewed - so much the better.

thatdamnwoman · 07/10/2018 17:04

Yes, that's what I suspected.

Hayden's decision to let this be an end of it is actually a face (and money) saving climb down.

RealGhouls · 07/10/2018 17:10

The end of it? Still suing for libel innit?

arranfan · 07/10/2018 17:10

This is a wretched device tho' isn't it - it's left Linehan with something he would need to apply to have omitted from an EDBS if he ever needed one.

It's just not right that something that requires no investigation, evidence, nor follow-up can produce that for someone.

Ereshkigal · 07/10/2018 17:11

Agree.

I’m block from potato 🥔 for being poor not because I follow GL

FekkoTheLawyer · 07/10/2018 18:32

You've got to love the Mail comments. They didn't mention GL wife's details being put out on Twitter as 'revenge' though did they.

Bowlofbabelfish · 07/10/2018 18:35

Wow. Just look at how that article is written. It’s dripping with disdain for Hayden. Look at the language.

It’s so interesting to see the change in the press coverage over cases like this. Even a few months ago the language was cautious and guarded and articles were few.

Now almost daily in the DM and with a very clear ‘fuck me this is bloody ludicrous’ slant. Big change. The press are realising they don’t need to be muzzled here.

R0wantrees · 07/10/2018 18:48

Daily Mail article comments by Linehan & Hayden:
(extracts)
"Linehan, who lives in Norfolk, said: 'The police asked me to stop contacting someone I had no intention of contacting.

'It was a bit like asking me to never contact Charlie Sheen.

Linehan, who also known for British TV shows Black Books and The IT Crowd, tweeted calling her Stephanie/Tony/Steven', references to her former names.

As included in her lawsuit, Linehan also wrote: 'I don't respect the pronouns of misogynists, stalkers or harassers, and Tony is all three.

The claims are refuted by Ms Hayden." (continues)

FekkoTheLawyer · 07/10/2018 19:06

I prefer the full quote (elsewhere) where they 'dead name' (what a shit expression) themselves. My granny would be in jail if I changed names - she never got anyone's right anyway first time - and there was no way she'd get me having a boys name.
