Or they’re scared of the backlash and vitriol?

thebewilderness · 30/08/2018 01:37

Green Party leadership made their position quite clear when they announced their determination to use of the term non-men to refer to those of us formerly known a women.

PersistAunt · 30/08/2018 02:00

@bewilderness, that position doesn't include keeping a hopeless sad person with no grasp of the need to be truthful, in a post for which they are no longer an asset. If Aimee was not trans, would they have won any of the roles they filled so poorly? Does Aimee have any exciting Green policies to discuss? All organisations have to be able to remove those who are, as the saying goes, bringing the organisation into disrepute.

thebewilderness · 30/08/2018 02:33

I just think that dehumanizing declaration regarding women showed the Green Party commitment to the transgender advocates mission of repealing all safeguarding protections for women and children.

TimeLady · 30/08/2018 06:25

Bradley resigned from the NUS position on 30 June 2018

EverardDigby · 30/08/2018 06:33

I notice only one person on the Green's LBGTIQA committee uses the pronoun she Hmm.

CesiraAndEnrico · 30/08/2018 08:12

I wonder if the Green Party are scared of what AC will say/do if removed? Let's face it, she must have something good on them if they haven't sacked her yet.

AC doesn't need to have anything good on them in terms of back channel info they don't want getting out. Just needs to have "all that lovely contact/personal info and other privacy related data".

Hypothetically speaking, a pissed off person with access to some/a lot of a political party's data, if they wanted to, they could hypothetically create a headache far beyond anything the Greens have experienced thus far.

Which is why it is a good idea to do some decent digging into a person (or even a quick google in a pinch) to make sure you can be confident that you are placing access to private data in reliable and stable hands.

Right now, depending on how conversations have gone between AC and the Greens thus far, they may have cause to be under-confident that "reliable and stable" are the order of the day. The issue doesn't have to be AC specifically, but could also include those AC resides with, or people who hang around the house, who may POTENTIALLY have had access to the data, depending on how it was stored and how judicious AC was about keeping it secure in a not option-rich, residential setting.

How vulnerable the greens feel privacy/data protection wise right now, could have been impacted by communications with AC while the toing and froing over remaining in certain positions/having a rising star future were discussed. And they may be feeling a tad , Hello Rock, Meet Hard Place with regards to AC.

All I know is that my lawyer bounced on my head so hard about privacy and data protection that if I could hire an angry lion to protect my (very small) filing cabinet, I would.

Oh. I didn't know a resignation had happened. I though it was just a temp. suspension while an investigation took place.

BettyDuMonde · 30/08/2018 08:54

There was a lot of weirdness around April that we couldn’t figure out (according to public records).

All three founding directors of Action for Trans Health (inc JB) resigned in April and at some point, ‘Jess’ was removed from the NUS companies house listing and replaced with ‘Joshua’

Amalfimamma · 30/08/2018 08:55

And yet another tra friend of Ac is doxxing

Pigs

BettyDuMonde · 30/08/2018 08:56

When we looked before, all NUS positions seem to resign around the end of June/beginning of July and start end of August/beginning of September.

So the latests Bradley resignation may not be anything to do with the investigation, just normal NUS admin?

thesharkisanoceanbehindus · 30/08/2018 08:56

No way has JB publically resigned - as of this morning JB is still listed on the NUS Connect website as Trans Officer.

But JB did step down from Action for Trans Health back in March/April, and formed a new company.

The victim again? If so I hope someone has reported them to the police.

Amalfimamma · 30/08/2018 09:12

aak yes we have.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/08/2018 09:13

Every time you think you've reached the limit of how far TRAs are willing to go they do something even more horrible.

Charliethefeminist · 30/08/2018 09:18

Also are there screenshots, they watch these threads so attentively and act in response. Well done for reporting.

EverardDigby · 30/08/2018 09:19

Local party data doesn't amount to much, names and addresses etc. and GP membership details. The LGBTIQA data I guess could make people more vulnerable if they are worried about being outed, but I doubt all this is the thing that's holding people back. I'd imagine (though this is just speculation) that it's more likely to be a sense of loyalty to AC and needing to tread carefully around their welfare.

arranfan · 30/08/2018 09:23

Asking carefully because I am middle-aged but I wanted to post a link about the Alex Salmond crowdfunder attracting so much support to allow a (personally wealthy) man to contest the Court of Sessions about the way that the party and Scots Parliament handled the allegations against him. (Also on AIBU at present tho' there's confusion from people who think it's for a defence against the allegations.)

I was going to contrast it with the difficulty of raising funds to defend GC women against private prosecutions, invidious interviews under caution, or maybe contesting their expulsion from the GP in some localities.

However, please tell me it's not my memory - some threads seem to have gone?

Destinysdaughter · 30/08/2018 10:28

Julie Bindel has just written an article asking why LGBT organisations are losing lesbians and discusses the AC debacle here:

That's a very good piece, I love her calm tone, while completely scything to the point.

Destinysdaughter · 30/08/2018 11:36

The Young Greens are pretty shitty too...

Has there been a statement yet from the Scouting Organisation regarding David Challenor?

twitter.com/akmd87/status/1033052541972606981

That link is from Amy Desir's twitter feed.

I've not seen anything. Yet.

I would also like to know if Stonewall has anything to say about it all too.

The silence from two major organisations is disgraceful.

Needmoresleep · 30/08/2018 11:50

Does AC still sit on a Stonewall panel or is it a place allocated to a GP nominee and they will be replacing her?

Charliethefeminist · 30/08/2018 11:55

Destiny, that's a shocking statement. At the same time 'non binary identities exist and are valid' always gives me one of the few light hearted moments in this argument makes me roar

NothingOnTellyAgain · 30/08/2018 11:57

so green party stance is that

transwomen are women
transmen are men
women (old style cunty type) are non-men

enjoy your erasure indeed
